  1. Can't answer you missing fingerprint fee question, but my guess is they will be wanting their cash sooner or later!

We just got our AOS and EAD NOA1's today, and can't access them online either though. I ran a search and apparently it is a bit hit and miss as to if and when you will ever be able to check your case status online via the automated system... Just check again periodically seems to be the common sense advice of others when I ran a search.

Did they give you a NOA1 on the EAD anyway? If so they will likely RFE you on the fee or some such, you should be ok. Uncle Sam doesn't like to miss out on dollars, so they will hit you up eventually.

The $70 was for the AOS Biometrics fee. And yes, we still got an NOA1 for it. They said we have 87 days to pay it. We are overnighting it tomorrow so hopefully it won't hold things up too much... From what we've been reading we were REALLY lucky they didn't just send the whole packet back.... I feel REALLY bad for overlooking it. All my fault.

  2. We just got our NOA1 today but on the AOS we forgot to include the $70 Fingerprint fee. :-S Does anyone know if we can pay them by phone or online with a debit/credit card?? Or do we just have to send a check??

Also, we tried to check our status online with our receipt numbers (EAD & AOS) and it doesn't recognize them. Has anyone had issues with trying to check their status with a new receipt number or do you think it may be related to our not paying the finger printing fee??

Also hoping that the EAD is not effected by our lack of $70 for the AOS....:wacko:

  3. Ok I notice that the USCIS accepts Money orders and checks. Do they accept cashier's checks?

I JUST changed my account name on my bank (was a little overzealous about want my new name) and do not have new checks with my new last name. I don't want anything bouncing back if I write a check with my maiden name OR if the USCIS see my maiden name all over my paperwork but my new checks (& account) say my married name.

I am assuming that Cashiers checks would solve that....but does the USCIS accept them?

  4. What's the I-693a??

I have a really good question too! When filling out forms for the AOS, Affadavit of support and anything else do I (as the petioner) use my maiden name or my new last name? I was going to file my new name with SS and other places after the wedding...or should I file our AOS first (with my maiden name) THEN start doing name change stuff? Is that going to confuse USCIS when they go looking for Moore and start finding Cumberland or would they figure it out?

  5. Ok! 11:45am PST. Received 1/2 a text. Said he had problems with Immigration but sounds like he got through in the long run. It seems rarely anyone has had issues with JFK, but I guess today was a bad day... Told him they don't do EAD... Oh dear...I should have just flown him direct into Seattle...my poor guy!:crying:

  6. 11:30am PST/2:30pm EST. He should be going through Immigration and Customs or even getting close to being done. His flight arrived around 12:30 EST (30 min before schedule). Anyone know how long it takes to get through Immigration at JFK? I'm sure everything is fine, I am just the worrying kind...Good thing he doesn't take off until 6pm EST...

  7. Thanks guys!! It's 8am PST right now...so in about 13.5 hours he should be here. Got a text from him just before boarding his flight to JFK. Should be there in about 2 hours. Then has about a 5 hour layover.

Only about a month and a half for you A! Woo hoo! Not TOO long!!

  9. I was looking for friends and went on a UK chat site and met this rather pompous annoying man trying to act all cool to the girls. I teased him for a bit and tried to pop his ego, but somewhere in the midst of trying to be Miss Smart/Cool Independent Single Gal I fell head over heels for this slightly cocky British man who turned out to be rather sweet and real. I can't imagine ever finding anyone more wonderful than him. He truly is my other half. (L)

So my question to you all, whether if it was your fiance/e or husband/wife that was joining you in the states, the week before they got here, were you cool & relaxed anticipating their arrival with no worries? Or were you a total wreck and stressed and so worried that something was going to happen to ruin everything and that last week just dragged on forever and ever?

I always deemed myself an optimist but I've always been dealt bad cards in the relationship department. I get the extreme high only to fall abruptly off the cliff once I reach the apex. I have always been a worrier and I am feeling it full force right now this last week. Is it just me? Or did any of you fret to high heavens before your fiance/e or wife or husbands arrival? I know I just need to take a deep breathe and relax. I miss him more now this last week than I ever had during the longest time that we were apart.... :(
