  1. So we were approved at USCIS on Oct 17th and got our NOA2 hardcopy on the 25th but NVC still has not received our case? I have been checking the automated telephone service the past few days and it states they do not have our case. How long does it take? Is the automated system correct or should I call and talk to a human being? I did email them but have yet to receive a response. It seems the people who were approved around the same time as us or just before have already been notified by the NVC and are even being sent on to their embassies.... I am worried that USCIS has F-d up again...

  2. Ok, so not that far yet, but I am all about finding things in advance....

Where do we file for the AOS eventually if we live in the Seattle area? I guess I thought the AOS thing was going down to the local office and filing and getting the greencard within 4 months, but apparently I am grossly wrong....

Also when you file for EAD (which I know takes about 90 days) how long does the EAD last? Does it last the length until the greencard is received?

And sorry if I am repeating anyone elses posts or if there is an obvious place to find these answers...I just got back home from spending 3 months with my fiance and now have to do the waiting game again and won't see him until he gets his Visa. :crying::cry:

  3. Nevermind...I found out my own answer...actually my fiance had solved it a while back but I guess I never noticed that...so he is probably laughing at me right now..lol

the VWP question Does ask if you have been arrested but for Moral turpitude reasons or for drugs. DUI is not a moral turpitude arrest nor is it a controlled substance. Therefore he answered in all truth.

    Hopefully this is all correct.

    Any other notions on this?

  4. Hey guys, so here is the dilemna.... My fiance came into the US on a Visa Waiver as he received his police certificate and it was blank. Our understanding was that you had to be arrested 3 times or for crimes of moral turpitude (sp??) to not be able to use the Visa Waiver.

Is this correct? That was our understanding..but now we are worried as my fiance has been arrested for a DUI 10 years ago (DUI not a moral turpitude) but it had not shown up on his police record and it wasn't till now that we realized you had to write in to the specific court to get a certificate from them?

Is this going to cause problems if they notice he has been to the US before but not gotten a visa but he shows him his blank police cert but tells them he has been arrested 10 yrs ago for a DUI?

    worried...

  5. So is it true that JFK is stamping passports with EAD's when people are entering with a Visa (our case K-1)? Do you have to pay anything? Do you have to ask about it? Where?

My fiance would feel a lot better if he could start work asap (of course after SSN). He also has an oppurtunity to work where I am so he could work as soon as he gets his SSN, even if it's only for a couple months.

    Thanks!

  6. God Bless Ual! Hopefully all will go well. Doctors nowadays can work miracles. My dad had a tumor the size of a golf ball in the back left corner of his brain....that was over 12 years ago. She may have problems with her speech but she has as good a chance as anyone on surviving. I hope all goes well and that whatever happens, that all is well with you and your family.

I think anything is worth trying for your sisters wishes, even if it doesn't get approved, you still tried your hardest and that is always worth something.

    Best Wishes and God Bless.

  7. So are there any more fees? Is there any fees for the Medical or any other application. Didn't look like it but just wanted to ask...

Also during AOS, is the fee just $325 or are there going to be supplements we have to pay for? Just trying to figure out what we need to save by then.

  8. Ok so now we get sent on to the NVC...How do we know it's been received? Do they email us or is there a number we call (errr...the one at the bottom of the approved email??) after a certain amount of time?

We just got our NOA2 emails so I know I probably won't start checking things till November (when I'm back in the states)....

  9. Well I just answered my own question.....WE GOT APPROVED!!!! We received our receipt for our RFE on 10/17/06 but it's receipt date was 10/16....then later that day we got 5 more emails (well....the next morning as I am in England) and we got the APProval so I checked online and it said APPROVED! Woo Hoo!!!!

  10. Ok so after they give the RFE Receipt on the USCIS online check and they give you the weird email saying since they already reviewed our petition yada yada yada....did everyone just receive their NOA2 in the mail (if they've gotten approved) or did they receive lots of touches and then an email with their approval THEN the hard copy in the mail?

  11. Ok have to do my little dance  as we finally (after a whole month) have complete our RFE and FINALLY received receipt after they received it (according to USPS) a week ago.....

So those who are wondering Where their RFE has gone...wait about a week and it should be in...as everyone has probably told me as well..... hehe thanks guys for keeping me sane so far....

Now, Where is my NOA2???????????? lol

  12. I would love to update my timeline but alas THEY haven't even acknowledged our RFE yet! Oh this is getting so frustrating....

We filed June 19 but got transfered to California making our date June 30....and now we are watching July and August petitioners get approved without an RFE while I DID fill out the new form WITH the Imbra ####### on it and I STILL get an IMBRA RFE which I fill out with the EXACT same stuff!!

Sorry...can you tell I'm slightly frustrated. lol!!

    :bonk:

  13. Well the K-3 takes a while, and correct me if I'm wrong, the visa is good for up to 6 months (you have up to 6 months to use it). I know the K-1 is like that...

Also, the American citizen has to submit the petition. Can he fill forms out and have all the proof collected for him and send the completed forms and photos back home to have someone put the packet together and send them to the serice center?

Just little bits...I am not too sure on all of this as I am doing a K-1...wondering if there are expiditions for US soldier's wives?...now wouldn't that be too nice....probably not then. lol

All in all, it probably will take until May of next year to get everything done and then approved and such...
