I got notification that my oath ceremony was scheduled. It’s been a couple days now since the notice and it’s still not showing on my profile. I guess I’ll just wait on snail mail. I’m elated at the fact that I’ll be done with USCIS.

Hello everyone
Wanted to share my experience. I had my interview yesterday in Chicago office
I got there earlier however they wont let you in until exactly 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Then you go through security check you need to take your shoes off, coat off and anything you brought after that you go to the 2nd floor check in and they give you number. The number wont display on a screen so you need to hear once they will call your number and there are rooms on right and left. My number wasn't called in for about 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment and I was out of the room and done with the whole process starting from entry in to the building and the interview within approx. 1 hour.
Right after officer called me in I was fingerprinted and they took the picture right after that I was asked to show my documents state ID, passport and a green card. Then I was asked civics questions right away
- who makes federal laws
- when the president cannot serve who becomes the president
- what are two ways that Americans can participate in their democracy
- who is in charge of the executive branch
- federalist papers- name one of the writers
- the supreme law of the land
Right after that I was asked to read from the ipad: When is Columbus day ?
and to write on an ipad : Columbus day is in October
The officer said congratulations you passed
After that he asked me random questions from the application the yes and no and he also asked about my husbands name, how did we meet and when did we meet and when did we marry. He also asked for taxes, pictures, and some other documents that I brought, he looked over and made copies.
He said he is happy with what he got and In the meantime he asked me to check spelling of my name name and to sign that I agree to take the oath and he gave me some paper showing that I passed and I am in line for the oath
And that was it.
My status changed right after I left the building to: Oath ceremony will be scheduled
I will let you know once I will get the date
Good luck to all waiting
Congrats 🥳🎉🥂

Just wanted to update everyone. My interview ended 5 mins ago. It was a quick and simple process took me like 8-10 mins, in and out. My appointment was for 8:40, I got there at 8:39 and checked in at 8:45. My number was called at 8:49 and I proceeded with the officer to his office. Took an oath to tell the truth then he proceeded to the speaking and writing test and then the civics test. He asked me 6 questions, I only remember a few like the bill of rights question, the Vice President is next in line, we the people, the Atlantic Ocean is to the east and what makes up the Congress- House of Representatives and senate and what are the two major political parties- the democratic and republican prty. After that he said congrats and he then asked questions from my application. He then said this concludes the interview as he was satisfied with my case it was straight forward. Told me congrats and that he is approving my application. Yay me🎉🎉🥳🥂. On my way out we spoke about the weather because Chicago had a huge snow storm. But that was it. Good luck to the rest of you waiting all the best.

My case was just updated with two status changes - 1. that I was recommended for approval, pending a review. And then immediately it went to 2. In line for Oath Ceremony. Just wanted to let you know that they seem to have quickly processed everything.
Congrats 🎉🥳👏🏾 @Chicago1987 I go on Monday and I haven’t looked at the questions yet. Did she ask and is it multiple choice?

no update for illinois, like you i am also waiting. geez people from February and march are having Oaths and we are still just waiting. Ridiculous
So I called USCIS line and the agent on the other end says they are currently working on august 2019 N400 cases which make nooooo sense to me. I think she misunderstood even though I thoroughly explained to her. #frustrated💯 But Atleast this is the last stop on our journey. It’s crazy that IL backlog is so long but whatever. It’ll take us 12-24 months now it seems.

Congrats to everybody who has seen some progress with their cases. Is there anyone from IL who has gotten any traction on theirs? This really gets me upset cause I really wanted to able to vote and now I can’t. I think they suppressing immigrant voter registration, I’m so mad. Been waiting with the rest of you guys since January and there is absolutely ntn on my case. It’s not like I can try to get it expedited 😣😩

I attented my interview today at the Atlanta Field office based on 5 year rule.
Overall- very pleasant experience. I have waited about 30-45 minutes to be called.
Officer was pleasant and asked questions professionally.
I was recommended for approval and he advised that Oath Ceremony will be scheduled and mailed.
Civic Questions was:
Who is the Commander in Chief of the Military?
What is the name of the President?
What stops one branch of government from becoming too powerful?
How many Senators are there?
What do we call the first ten amendments to the Constitution?
What does the President’s Cabinet do?
Reading test was: What state has the most people:
Writing: California has the most people.
He went through N400 quickly and verified some questions and proceeded with approval.
As January Filers, we started off with an approval, let this be the trend !! Good Luck!
Congrats! All the best for a bright future.

Who is messing with the spreadsheet? I fixed my name on it today only to now find my name completely off. I'll let you guys know what happens to my case in here I won't update it no more. The corona virus got to the spreadsheet I guess.

Really? I dont think that is true I dont remember that walk in Bio already had their Interview already scheduled.
My estimation completion moved up by 2 months (from nov-sept). My aunt and a close family friend recently did theirs and it didn’t even take 6 months. I honestly think it’ll be less, I’m hoping it’ll be competed by June.

Yes They took the picture at the biometric.
36 minutes ago, Cryssiekins said:Can I ask why, if there is a scheduled appointment, you would attempt to go in sooner?
Yes fingerprint and picture.
Because my schedule is pretty tight and I feared that anytime they would’ve given me would have inconvenient for me given that they don’t consider your input when they schedule you for anything.

I received the biometrics document in the documents tab of my online account. I’m gonna print it and do a walk in today because I simply don’t have any other time, I’m a full time student, mom n I work.

Good luck! I don’t know I just saw that they updated my status online and scheduled my biometrics. Don’t know when it is as they haven’t uploaded that doc and I haven’t received the letter in the mail yet. I signed the sheet. They estimate my completion to be in November. That’s a long wait!
