Congrats! Buffalo would be my field office too if I haven't moved to Virginia. Would you mind sharing with us when you applied for i751 and n400 respectively? Thanks and congrats again!
Thanks!
We applied for the I-751 on January 23, 2018 and for the N-400 (online) February 16, 2019. So from the date we applied for the N-400 to the date of the oath ceremony will be just a little over 3 months. It all processed much fast than anticipated. They originally gave us a completion date of January 2020.
As I mentioned before; there was no movement on the I-751 after the biometrics appointment in April of 2018. We got a notice on March 8th of this year that they had transferred the I-751 application to the NBC. They still haven’t updated the status on the new website since the biometrics and the last update on the old website for the I-751 says that it was transferred.
The experience at the Buffalo office was very good. Everyone encountered was extremely professional and nice.
Best of luck to you on the rest of your journey and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

Congrats. Did you go the interview with your spouse.
Yes, we weren’t sure if they would want both of us to go in and be interviewed, but they allowed it; I’m guessing because of the pending I-751.

Just a quick update.
Tuesday was the N-400 interview. Everything went very smoothly; despite some last minute intense anxiety. It ended up being a combo interview for the removal of conditions and application for citizenship. Everything was approved and the officer scheduled the oath ceremony for May 23rd, since my spouse and I are moving out of state at the end of June.
Prior to this, the last update on the I-751 was that it had been transferred to the NBC. The citizenship interview was scheduled with no indication as to if it would be a combo interview or not. The officer that conducted the interview stated that he was given the file at the last minute because the officer that was going to do the interview, was not able to do so for both the I-751 and the N-400. It is my understanding that the I-751 must be processed first, and so that is what triggered a joint interview for both applications even though they never updated the removal of conditions status.

Congrats
Do you have the 10 yrs GC?
Im just curious
Thank you and no, it was filed in January of 2018, and sat without any movement for over a year. It was just transferred to the NBC at the beginning of March of this year. I’m not sure if applying for the N-400 triggered a combined interview, but it seems like that’s what has happened.

The interview date is May 14th; if someone could add the update to the chart. Thanks!

Which field office is handling your case?
The citizenship application was filed online but I believe the interview will be Buffalo, NY. I guess once I’m able to access the appt. letter online, I will know for sure.

Just got an online notification that they scheduled the interview. Hopefully will be able to access the date online in the next few days. Will update once the date is confirmed!!! A quick question; we actually were planning to move out of state in the beginning of June. From what I understand, the oath ceremony must take place in the same place where you passed your citizenship interview; does anyone know if that’s correct? If we have to we would just push back moving until the oath ceremony is complete.

Updated: I called and it said it was transferred to Missouri.

Just received an email stating that the case was transferred.
Application Type: I751, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS ON RESIDENCE
Your Case Status: Initial Review
“On March 8, 2019, we transferred your Form I751, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS ON RESIDENCE, Receipt Number EAC18083***** to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice.”It did not state where it was transferred to and it is not showing up on the website.

Was able to access the biometrics appointment letter online today. It is scheduled for March 15th.

Filed for the N-400, February 16th, online.
VJ username was ja & sa on the list, sorry I’m not sure how to update it or add that the N-400 was filed.

Pardon my ignorance, but where would I find the information regarding how fast my local office is processing applications? I see that when the application was submitted it gave me an estimate of a year. I’ve noticed people are able to look specifically at their field office and see the processing times. I can’t seem to find the section for that on here. Thanks in advance!

Filed the N-400 on February 16th using the online application. The I-751 application is still pending from January of 2018. Hopefully the biometrics appointment notice will be sent online soon. The USCIS office is 2.5 hrs away, so it would be nice to get a little more notice than is usually given with the appointment letter that is mailed. Best wishes to everyone that’s filed this month! 😁

We just received the biometrics appt letter in the mail today. I made two calls to the service center yesterday; the first of which I was told by the service agent they were having technical difficulties and I’d have to call back and was promptly hung up on. The second gentleman was much nicer and put in a request for me, but now I wish I had just waited one more day and not had to deal with the first rude individual 😜
Notice Date: 3/2/2018
Received Notice Date: 3/10/2018
Biometrics Appt Date: 3/19/2018

Received our NOA-1 today 2/2/18
Package was received 1/26/18
Notice date was 1/29/18
Now we settle in for the long wait 😑

Just sent our file today. It’s seriously stressing me out so much; I did not miss this the last two years.

thank u so much about ur useful answers i do really appreciate that
u mean just a copy of my passport (page of my information) ? and about the appointment letter has been kept by a girl at the booth outside the consulate ...so i just have to print same letter of interview again and take it with me ?
yes , am sure they gave you a copy of passport and with the other paper stuck on it . and the appointment letter you gave to the lady on the window print the same and take it with you !
i hope you respond to my question
-
yes its kinda stuck there but cant get to the confirmation just to print it u know ...or it doesnt matter to have a copy of the confirmation in hand as long as they will call ?
you will not need any confirmation , just take the 2 papers they gave you ( paper of steps + scan of your passport ) and your interview appointment paper , don't forget your id card just in case they asked
-
i chose immigrant visa but it tells me to put receipt number on bar nd i dont have that because i paied fee on cash at the consulate not through bank nd they gave me reciept but it has no receipt number just transaction number nd i tried it but it says u need a valid receipt number .so where i'll get that number from?
if you get to this step where they ask you for the visa fees , just ignore it and you will be registered with all of the information you submitted before this step ! it doesn't effect the informations
-
yes he told me after one week i will have to pick it up .....i have one question while im trying to register in the website ustraveldocs i selected IV adress registration but K1 isnt listed on options they have on the page nd i have seen some ppl have same issue but they chose CR1 even if their visa class is K1 nd they could get the confirmation for picking up passport from aramex so my question is did u have same issue during registring for having schedule to pick up ur fiance passport?
do not choose CR1 , at the beginning chose Immigrant Visa --- and then -->
K1 - Fiance or Fiancee of U.S. Citizen -
thank you so much
maybe i lost my hearing in that moment Lol
i think so , but did you heard him telling you ( your passport will be ready to pick up after one week from now ) ? i know it was so much thing happening in your mind in the same time and it was so hard to hear anything that man was telling you
-
hello ! yes u got approved, am sure he told you that

The oath ceremony was today; and so one journey ends while a new one begins! We very much have appreciated this website and the valuable information that people so freely share. The kindness of the people here over the last four years has made things so much more bearable. Best wishes and positive thoughts to everyone still on their journey!
