I would call on Monday. It happens that an officer takes vacation or gets sick and they have to reschedule all the interviews for that officer, but usually you hear something pretty quick. On Monday they should be able to tell you on the phone why it's cancelled and what's next. Good luck, hope you have your interview soon!

    The letter said “unforeseen circumstances”

not been rescheduled which is disappointing.    Nov 2017 filer.

  2. We just got scheduled on the 4th.    We are November 2017 filers....

This feels like a kick in the teeth.

    Anyone else experience this situation?

“On July 16, 2019, we cancelled your interview for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, and mailed you a cancellation notice.

We will notify you by mail if the appointment is rescheduled, a decision is made, or if we need something from you.

Please follow any instructions in the notice.

If you do not receive your notice by August 15, 2019, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice.

If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.”

Does anyone know if I can visit my home country for Christmas with passport that expires 4 months later (in April 2019)? I know with other visas - J1, B2 etc - your passport must be valid at least 6 months when you are entering US.

Can I enter US with this passport when I am waiting for Adjustment of Status (having AP document in hand)?

You need a valid passport my wife went to her country and renewed her passport.

    Good luck!

Just so it's clear, assets must be 3x the necessary income level (or income gap when combined with income) for a spouse (and 5x for anybody else).

Yeah I believe I should be fine.   Even at 5x I should be about 100k over that threashold just in my home values.   Even taking All income away.

For a self employed individual, they will use your 2017 tax return to determine your current income level. As you noted, the deductions there can severely lower this, so using assets to supplement income is not a bad decision.

For a bank account, I would suggest 12 months of statements. One reason I say 12 months is they like to see that the assets are actually yours and not just being placed into the account to meet the requirement and then returned to their original source (often family members).

Documentation for a property is more complex. I highly encourage others to step in with details. That said, you need to show:

    1. Ownership of the asset(s). This would generally be a copy of the deed or title.
    2. Net value of the asset(s). This means showing both:
      1. Current value of the property. A recent appraisal is best here (and is what is stated in the I-864 instructions). I have heard others use county appraisals for tax purposes, or even screenshots of estimates from some website, but I wouldn't suggest this personally.
      2. The value of any liens/mortgages/secured loans against the property.
    3. The asset is convertible to cash within 1 year. This is basically a judgement call by the IO. In the current market, I wouldn't be too worried personally.

Check out page #9 of the I-864 instructions regarding the use of assets, in which they note what they want to see for a house:

    https://www.uscis.gov/system/files_force/files/form/i-864instr.pdf

Thank you for your detailed response.

I can cover the property values easy enough.   I have a mortgage statement with payoff for one home.   The other is paid off.

My wife also has two homes in her country one is for sale.   Not worth a lot compared to here but it’s an asset.   Wondering if we should add those.

Bank statements arent an issue.  It’s just my savings account that I dump commissions into to cover my quarterly tax payments.   I have about 60% of the needed minimum yearly income value in that account alone.    I am hoping my homes, bank statements, plus my 10-99’s will suffice.

  6. We filed for aos 6.5 months after we were married.  Just didn’t get to it initially, and the next thing we knew it was November.   You will just be out of sequence, if you were arrested you could be subjected to removal, but that’s not common.  Once you file you get back in sequence.   So if you are a trouble maker then file ASAP, but if you are not then Just relax and file even you are ready.

  7. Had our RFE and it was an update for our I-864.  I am a 10-99 employee, so my taxable income is always crushed down pretty low, even though my gross is pretty high.  I need to add assets just in case, should I print off bank statements?  Also I have two homes and a sizeable cash net on those.  How do I document that?   Mortgage statement and a CMA on the homes?  Or is it not necessary to document?

I am a realtor and do not run my business through an LLC or corp.

  9. Got an noa of approval on all three AP.  Now today my wife’s AP was updated to this...

“We reviewed your biometrics and are still processing your case“

Does this mean we aren’t getting her AP?  Or are they holding it because of an RFE on her 485?  And would that RFE affect her EAD?  ....or is this happening because they are also processing her EAD?

Any thoughts would be very much appreciated.   Thank you in advance.

@FloridaMinsk the new site is myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov

You create an account. Every time you want to log in u enter your log in and password and website sends you a unique code to access your account.

While in the account, you enter your receipt numbers once, every time u log in they are there. Status history can be seen there as well.

It said this is the most updated site, but idk, cant really tell with the random updates on both...

This one shows my AP is updated as approved. Although the work permit is not.    Is there an new app as well or are they still the same?
