Thanks, so it doesnt matter how long the process will take, since i already applied before the expiry ,im good?
Yes you are good, don't worry. To be on the safe side, have your NOA1 and a copy of your marriage certificate with you whenever you leave the house.

Ok, Matt & I just got married & I'm going to file everything here in the next few days. Quick question. Do I send the aos, ap & work permit stuff all in one package? I'd like him to be able to get a job soon. Please advise. Thanks.
Yes, send everything together.

And by the way, let me recap for eveyone confused by the convoluted sarcasm:
1. Im engaged to the best guy in the world.
2. Despite our cultural differences we know we are soul mates.
3. We will start a family next year as he keeps dreaming he'll have a son born in 2016.
4. All Muslims are not the same. There are multiple sects based on different schools of Islamic jurisprudence.
5. All Christians aren't the same, either.
6. I know a bigot when I smell one.
7. Romance and chivalry are alive and well in my guy's heart.
8. I am excited to marry into an affluent Egyptian family.
9. I have a big family niw which will double in size in a few months!
10.I hope some of you butter souls fjnd someone half as nice as my Basim.
These things are all off topic and way too personal. I hope you don't consider these statements evidence of bonafide relationship because the USCIS sure as hell won't.

Correction
My sister's husband did not marry that egyptian home wrecker. he just ran off with her. He tried to repair the marriage but my sister wants counseling and he wont budge.
Really? LOL. In your other thread (first post) you said they were married.
"my fiance Basim and I have been together since July 2014 and we are madly in love and plan to spend the rest of our lives together. he and I got engaged a couple of weeks ago. the funny part about our relationship is that my sister married his uncle in 2013 and that is pretty much how I met my current fiance. well long story short I was wondering if this may raise a red flag regarding our form i-129f. if they know that my sister married his uncle would this be suspicious? I am asking this because after my sister married my uncle-in-law he ran off to California to be with an Egyptian woman that he actually knew for a very long time even before he came to the United States. my entire family is very supporting however they are a little apprehensive about the situation with basim because of what happened to my sister and her husband. I have already picked a date, ordered my wedding dress, picked out my cake, flowers, everything and for this to not happen because of somebody else's misfortune would be truly and absolutely devastating. any suggestions, tips , tricks, or hint would be greatly appreciated! This poster is not for real. However, I can't fault the level of entertainment provided this evening.
You've made up your mind what our answers should be and you think anyone who duesntbtell you what you want to hear is attacking you. Yet, having read both threads from start to finish. You have been consistently aggressive, hostile and insulting. It might be worth bearing in mind that the people offering you advice have studied and gone through this process already, or are otherwise further into the process than you are.
I have pointed out at the very beginning of the other thread that this user cannot be for real. He/She is obviously trolling and enjoys getting the attention. I have yet to understand why some of my comments got deleted in the other thread. I was pointing out the obvious. Calling a spade a spade.
IF this story is real, then the OP knows NOTHING about how immigration works. And IF this case is real, it will get denied most likely at the USCIS stage, but definitely at the embassy interview. But again, this can't be real. There is too much bs.

Another one attacking me. Bring it on.
Nobody is attacking you. You just don't like people calling you what you are: a troll. It is ridiculous how badly you try to make yourself sound like a victim who gets attacked here. Your story is not even coherent. Next time try to memorize it before you start your show.

Jesus Christ I am NOT a troll I am a real person looking for real answers from real people who have gone through real experiences that I really genuinely interested in helping others. This is the entire sole reason why I have joined this message board. Not everyone's life can be a story book tail like Cinderella and Snow White. I know some of you people live perfect lives and have never gone through any unusual circomestances like me. I am just trying to be honest and trying to open myself up to you as much as I can so that I can receive the best information possible. if my story sounds hard to believe or a little unusual I understand because as an American white girl dating someone who is Egyptian that lives a million miles away is sometimes unheard of especially in this day and age. going through what I have gone through and dealing with cultural differences and helping my sister get through her broken marriage has really drained me but I am going to keep my faith and spirit up and those of you who are genuine and looking to help someone like me please feel free to continue the discussion everyone else that is negative naysayers and pessimistic please I will just ignore you. thank you
We tried to help you, so stop being arrogant. Your case is FULL of red flags (being engaged shortly after having met, meeting breefly in person and only one time, cultural differences, different religion, fraudster relative, etc).
You have been told a bunch of useful answers. IF you have solid evidence of bonafide relationship, his uncle shouldn't matter but he is definitely a huge red flag either way. MORE TIME SPENT IN PERSON TOGETHER is needed if you want to get approved. Egypt is a high fraud country and the US Consulate in Egypt won't be impressed that he has met you only once in person. It's not being negative and pessimistic, these are FACTS.
It is still beyond my understanding why after seeing your sister heartbroken you jumped in a relationship with a relative of the fraudster.

What? He doesn't even have any brother. he only has two sisters.what are you talking about? I am very lost.
I meant to say his uncle.

FIRST OF ALL
he is not Moroccan he is 100% full blooded Egyptian born and raised in Egypt come from a long line of Egyptians and he is not Moroccan at all. Second of all FRAUD? Because I went to Morocco? This is just ridiculous. My photos havent been photoshopped they are perfect as is. Next topic please.
Egypt is also a HIGH fraud country, so the same rules apply.
Why are you so sure after "one brief meeting" when you "didn't stand next to each other" (you said these things) that he is not a fraudster like his brother is? FYI the rose and the towel and other fishy things are typical when fraudsters from third world countries try to make American women fall in love with them.
This whole story is surreal.

Its just that I have been in some really dreadful relationships with American guys and no one cared. As soon as i say im with Basim everyone starts focusing on the wrong thing. He is a great guy and we want to live together. We have so much in common. We're planning on getting a 5th wheel to travel across the Americas together. When we do,we will have a million photos for all you naysayers!
Calm down. Nobody is a naysayer here. If you don't want to hear honest answers, why did you open this thread? You are babbling.

why is everyone going on and on over photos that have no bearing on what is going on with my situation. I have already explained that yes we have photos taken together. a very well-known photographer took them they do not look odd they look very tasteful artistic and beautiful.the topic of my post has nothing to do with photos, him being on a balcony or anything. The topic of my post has to deal with relatives from Egypt being in this country and are not complying with the rules of the k1 visa process.
Because the photos and how you met in person DOES matter to USCIS... more than his uncle. USCIS does not care AT ALL whether those photos were taken by a professional photographer or not. Your photos and other evidence of having met should show genuine love, period. Your whole story just doesn't seem to add up and is very very odd.
-
I understand and I am also here to learn as much as possible so I will answer any question as long as it is asked in a respectable manner. first of all yes we have met only once in Morocco. During that meeting we did not get to stand next to each other because of his religion. yes of course we are planning to meet again soon because we are engaged so obviously we have to get married in order to fulfill that engagement which will require us to meet again.
She asked whether you plan to meet him again BEFORE the K1 visa interview. In order to get married you need the K1 visa to be approved first.

How is it possible that you had photos taken together but you didn't stand next to each other??

But they can also see that he was a full time college student during that time- not just some waster sitting around with a **** low paying job. This has been his first opportunity to get a proper job and therefore meet the requirements. I find them so frustrating and illogical.
I understand your frustration. I wish you guys the best of luck!

Thank you both, I just don't understand why his income was approved during the interview stage if it's going to be an issue now. I was always told that current income is key. Surely this means someone who is now unemployed but earned enough in 2014 would be approved without issue? To me, this doesn't make sense.
The way US Consulates and USCIS work will always remain a mystery...
However, people in both cases you mentioned (1. didn't earn enough before but currently has a job with sufficient income AND 2. did earn enough before but currently doesn't have a job/doesn't earn enough) will likely get RFEs. USCIS wants to see continous and sufficent income. Since your husband didn't meet the 125% of the poverty guidelines to sponsor you not just in 2014 but in 2013 as well, they might not be convinced enough. Good luck!
-
The above poster did call them and were told for two people it was $25,000 which makes no sense.
He didn't meet it in 2013 or 14 but he does now, since starting a new job in January.
Whoever was on the phone was wrong. The 125% of the poverty guideline 2015 is $19,912 for 2 people in the household. http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf
Your husband didn't meet the 125% of the poverty guideline in the most recent year (2014) so that is why you got the RFE. Current income matters, yes, but since he has his new job only since January 2015, USCIS wants to see a co-sponsor.
-
Pheebs, i just looked at your thread and it looks like your RFE is almost exactly like ours. The first box say to submit the complete tax return for the last tax year, and the second that he doesn't meet the poverty guideline blah blah and to either show assets that make up for the difference (they don't mention how much is this "difference") or get a joint sponsor. I thought they need the complete return for 2014, cuz we send the one for 2013, but i was still confused how come he doesn't meet the 125% since he works 2 jobs. And we sent all supporting documents too.
You mentioned that you sent the 2013 tax papers as the most recent. Did your husband meet the 125% of the poverty guideline in tax year 2013? How about tax year 2014?
If he is above the 125% of the guideline in tax year 2014 AND currently, then there is no need for a co-sponsor, you only need to send them the copy of the 2014 tax papers (or IRS Tax Return Transcript 2014).

I sent mine on march 27th and last thursday I got my NOA1! Now waiting for biometrics and my EAD and AP.
Thank you for starting this thread and good luck to you all!
You are welcome. Good luck to you as well!

I notice that immigrate2us have now banned this practice.
I never liked it as you inevitably only get half the story. They banned it as it was looking like notarios were asking questions about customers cases.
Anyway something to consider.
What is "asking for friends"?

Hello VJ'ers!
The good news first: I mailed out my AOS Package today.
My father-in-law is a former postal worker (he worked for USPS for over 20 years) so because I was worried about some parts of the documents getting damaged on their way (particularly the only lightly "sealed" "do-not-open" medical results envelope), he insisted on putting the papers which were already in a hard plastic binder into an Express Mail box with a bunch of plastic bags as a buffer.
"That's how people mail things. It's normal." I kept hearing, so I guess he must know, right?
I still think it's a bit weird and I hope that USCIS won't mind. They are paranoid enough to make other people paranoid as well...
The second things is: While I had this express mailed with a return receipt requested/delivery confirmation, I did not request the package to be signed for by USCIS. It'll only be signed for by the post office. According to my father-in-law that shouldn't pose a problem but what do you guys think?
Thank you in advance!
You should be fine. Please join the April 2015 AOS filers thread
