Hi guys! We're in the process of assembling the packet for my husband's AOS and of course we need his birth certificate translated. I've looked online all over the place to see how we can do that now here in the states and I'm confused as to what will be acceptable for USCIS. There are services available that I can upload the document and they can translate it, as far as I can tell from their websites, but is this legit? Any help would be greatly appreciated, we're a bit stumped on this one! Thanks!!!

I just got off the phone with Daisy... This must be some kind of record. In and out in 3 hours.... She PASSED!!!!!

She was told that right now they aren't giving estimates on passport delivery, just wait for the SMS. I'll keep an eye on ceac for issued status.

Daisy said the American consul was a very nice lady and only asked her one question and that was about the number of my previous marriages and asked if she had pics of the 3 of us (Daisy, her daughter and me) together. Daisy said she cried when she was told she was approved.

Our medical is just two days away, then a week later is our interview!

My brave guy has since told his older brother about our engagement and to our relief, his brother accepted our relationship and is even happy for us! I am very comforted to know that he has greater family support in this process. That was a big joy in our little world! We needed that because we still pray for his father's ill health to improve. Sadly, his father's condition seems terminal based on the several recent medical reports I have read. We are like all of you on this thread - we just need each other!!!

I was worried about being accepted by Issam's family because I'm not Muslim and don't plan on converting, but they were also super supportive. It IS a relief! So sorry to hear about his father's condition - praying for him.

In 12 hours Daisy will be in the middle of her interview. She is waking up at 4AM and plans to be at the embassy between 5 and 6AM. Her mom will be in the Starbucks across the street waiting. Daisy is so nervous right now I hope she can calm herself before she goes in. She is very concerned about failing and disappointing me. Only so much I can do to help her relax, just continue to reassure her that no matter what happens I love her and we will be married. I know she will do great, but everyone please send a prayer.

I'll post the results of her interview when I know.

Bless her heart, I know how nervewracking it is. Issam was beside himself with worry. I told him the exact same - irregardless of the outcome, we'd be together. Praying for her too!!!

So far so good for our March filers, right? Are we at 100% approval for those who have had their interviews already? We now have to wade through the AOS, EAD and AP stuff - another packet to prepare and I'm freaking already hahah. His birth certificate is in Arabic and French of course, how the heck do I get it translated here in the States? Sheesh.

Issam and I were married today!!!!! <3 <3 <3 We also popped down to the SSA and applied for his SSN and it should be here in two weeks. We're going to dinner tonight to celebrate and counting the hours until then because it's Ramadan and soooooooo hard! I admire his willpower and strength because I'm like, um, nope - must drink with these temps in the 90s!!! Hey everyone! Congratulations to everyone making progress on the journey to be together with your significant others and those of you still waiting patiently, hang in there! Your turn will come!

We got our marriage license today! It all happened so fast. I searched the internet to find out what we needed to do to apply here in Palm Beach County and it said go to the courthouse in Delray to pick up the application then return it to city hall in Boca Raton where we live. Ok, but when we got to the courthouse they did it all right there! It's a good thing that we had brought our passports with us! And, funny story, the clerk went to go swear us in that we attested that the information we gave on the form was correct but she couldn't do it in French for Issam and he speaks VERY little English right now. So I asked him, "How's your Spanish?" And because he could understand it passingly, she did it for him in Spanish. Otherwise we would have needed a translator and she wouldn't let me translate for him. I was like uhhhhhhh?!? Then I had to fill in the date of my divorce and I COULD NOT remember when it was finalized! I literally thought we would be bringing the paper home and filling it out. The clerk was really nice and let me call my attorney (kind of no-no to use cell phones there I guess) to get the date. Whew, so stressful! Anyway, it's done and we're planning on returning to that courthouse to get married on Thursday! ACK!!!!! So happy!!!!!

We are on our way to the airport to come hommmmmmme!! Long day of travel but can't WAIT to get home with Issam! Good luck all with your interviews, med exams etc! Much love, Nancy

Oh God, you guys, the tears are already starting to flow on Issam's family's part. This is going to be really hard on them and I feel so bad!!! Aaaacckk!! It's awful because I'm so happy and excited and they're all sad and weepy. We aren't even leaving until Tuesday and there's that big party we're having on Sunday. Any advice??? I feel terrible!!!

Ceac site now says status issued!!!! Hooray!!! So now we're in moving mode organising what we're bringing and what we're leaving. If course I want to bring everything lol. The furniture here is so pretty but it's way too expensive to ship, so we have to divvy it up amongst the family until we get settled. And evidently from what I can gather with my limited Darija, we're having a big party on Saturday. Oh dear, I'm rather a shy type and don't do well with a lot of attention. ack!!!

Ok guys, so now I go to the CEAC site just to see what the status says and it says Administrative Processing. Is that normal at this stage? The CO gave Issam a claim ticket yesterday and told him to return Tuesday to pick up his passport. Are we not out of the woods yet though? Ack, so stressful! Hope all is well with you all!!! <3

Hey guys! Issam had a great interview yesterday at the consulate and the officer told him that his visa was approved and to come back to pick up his passport next week. He gave him a claim ticket, so I assume all is well!

Issam said they were really nice and just asked him to give them the affidavit of support paperwork and to tell them our story. Just a few other questions and that was it! Once I peel him down from the ceiling I'll get all the details and do a review of the consulate. Best of luck you others with your interviews - it would be great to get 100% of us approved!!!! You've got this!!!

OMG OMG OMG!!!! We got it!!!! After 2 and a half hours Issam came bouncing back to the hotel with the good news!!! I can't believe it!!! We are so over the moon right now! We have to come back to Casa to pick up his passport and visa next Tuesday!!!! Then HOMMMMMEEE!!!!

GAH! Issam is still at the Consulate since 9 30 - 1 hour and 45 minutes so far. Good sign? Bad sign? No sign? I have no clue! Sitting in the hotel waiting and oh, PS, I have to Skype an interview at 1 00 our time. I got an email Monday asking if I would be interested in having an interview to stay and teach in Florida on the gulf coast and I was like, sure (why not), but I'm in Morocco right now. She said, oh, no problem, we can Skype the interview. Okay, sure, when would you like to do it, I asked. She said Wednesday, June 3rd at 1 00 your time. WHAAAAAAAAAA?????? Hahahah, so this will be an interesting day...Hope everyone is well and moving FORWARD!!!! <3

Hey everyone! Checking in from Tanger, Morocco waiting with Issam to make the trip down to Casablanca tomorrow for the interview Wednesday. It's been an amazing few days so far with him, and hopefully we can plan the trip back together! I haven't read all the posts yet because the internet has been spotty, but I will.
