... should I assume my Visa was approved and sent to the courier?

Yep, that's exactly what it sounds like. The status does not switch to issued until the visa has been approved.

Did the embassy keep your passport? If so, everything is great and you should be expecting your passport back within the next couple of weeks. Congrats!

Hey, for those who have had their card sent to them, have you received yours yet / how long did it take to turn up? My NOA2 has arrived but waiting on the physical card (My online profile said card was mailed to me on October 10th)...

Mine took exactly one week from the day they shipped. They shipped it on a Friday, and the card got here Friday the following week.

    Anyone from Dallas?

Anyway, i called up customer service again and asked why my service request has not been assigned to an officer yet (since September). She said nobody will answer me because I am still within processing time. I asked if she can transfer me to a Tier2 officer... she refused!.....

Call back and ask for a Tier 2 officer right away while being polite, but also firm. They shouldn’t refuse the transfer. I had one who pushed back a little, but once I made my point that I’d like to get transferred she gave in. It’s no guarantee that the Tier 2’s know anything special, but you have nothing to lose.

    Hurraaaa! Glückwunsch! :)
Dann hast du jetzt ja erstmal vorläufig deine Ruhe! :)

    Danke :) .

Ja, du brauchst einen Termin. Du kannst hier nachlesen was genau benötigt wird: http://m.germany.info/Vertretung/usa/en/02-Service/Common_20subjects/04__Family_20Matters/Name__Declaration__Marriage.html

Übrigens wollen die beim Termin originale Dokumente sehen.

  6. Meine Green Card wurse nach fast 8 Monaten ohne Interview letzten Freitag genehmigt. Yay!

Congrats!!! How weird it was never assigned but a green card approval beats all that! Gives me hope because I thought when sent to local office that always meant an interview and that was not the case for you!

Yeah for sure it’s weird. When I called in, the T2 officer never really specified where it has been sent to exactly. He kept mentioning “local field office” even when I asked if it was sent to NYC directly. The only thing I can think of is if it was transferred to another field office or service center that isn’t my local one to have it approved without an interview.

Anyway, doesn’t matter too much now. I’m just happy the wait is over and I’m hoping that everyone else gets positive news soon too!

  8. RFE’s and RFIE’s can literally happen at any time. From the moment they accept your petition, all the way to your interview day. Whether you will get one or not entirely depends on the package you sent to USCIS and the adjucating officer.

During the very early stages of AOS, RFIE’s (requiring further initial evidence) are more common than regular RFE’s (requiring further evidence).

The birth year date error shouldn’t cause a delay as long as it has been properly corrected now. It only becomes a problem if the info stays wrong on important documents like your EAD and the green card later on.

  9. I also wouldn’t believe everything the T2 officers say. I spoke to three of them so far. One had no idea about anything, the second told me to email the lockbox support team (uhhh?) and the third one told me that my case just recently was sent to “a local field office” but he just assumed it was NYC since they’re responsible for my area. My status is still fingerprint fee received and has been like that since March 3rd. No clue what the status of my case actually is, but I was told to expect an interview within 3-4 months from now at the NYC field office and they’re one of the most backlogged ones in the country.

    August 2018 seems extremely unlikely.

    Hello Folks,

hope you all are working hard and enjoying the time with your loved ones as much as I do. Thinking back at all the traveling and the apart time.... idk how we mad it so far :) but here we are.

    Anyway

I just did an online inquiry about my case since I haven't heard anything since March, well to be exact 7 months. They finished the inquiry and mailed out the decision

10/10/17. I'll keep you guys updated what's going on. The last status of my case was that they will check my RFIE response and mail me a decision. Let's hope everything is alright

How long did it take them to respond to your service request? Mine was submitted almost 7 weeks ago and still isn't even assigned to anyone yet.

Just saw on my informed delivery that my local office sent a letter today. My interview is in 5 days. Any idea of what it could be???

That's a little odd so short before the interview. No matter what it is, I'd still attend the interview date unless the coming letter is a cancellation letter.

Just out of curiosity, how can you see what letters they sent? The only thing I can do with informed delivery is see what mail will be delivered today. I can't see anything in advance.

Case active 216 Days.  No interview but the case inquiry on 9/12/17 said that our case had recently been sent to Houston office. Checking our case status still says Fingerprint Fee Received and no interview date yet. Processing times show they are working on August 2016 cases so I think we will be waiting awhile. I’m kind of hoping our interview date is close to June 2018 because then we will have been married for 2 years and can get 10 year geeen card. Then we can skip the removal of conditions paperwork and at the 3 years of marriage mark apply for citizenship.

Did you submit an actual service request and they asnwered it? I sent in one on August 28th and it's not even assigned yet. Funnily enough our case has been active for 216 days as well.

I called the USCIS # and got to speak with a Tier 2 officer. They haven't responded to my notice yet even though it's been over a month and someone looked at the service request on September 15th. She did say that my case is now being handled by the Portland, Maine office, other than that I couldn't get any more information out of them. She said they've been really slow with applications for some reason. Maybe you can call them again and see what's going on with your case.

Yeah maybe I will give them another call next week. How come your case is in Portland, Maine though? Unless that's a service center that processes applications eligible for interview waivers, it's weird that they'd send it there considering your local office seems to be Boston.

  14. I submitted a Service Request a month ago about my pending AOS and as of today it still hasn't even been assigned. Is this something that normally takes this long? When I first submitted the SR by talking to a Tier 2 officer, I was told to expect a reply within 14 business days and if I don't get anything by then to call back and to ask for another Tier 2 officer. I've spoken to two different Tier 2 officers since and neither of them had any kind of info for me. They couldn't tell me if my file might get an interview waiver, not if I am in line for an interview, not even if there are any recommendations on my file at all, nothing. All they said is that they can see that it's still at the NBC.

The weird thing is that the second T2 officer I spoke to said to email the lockbox support team to get a direct answer about my case. But as far as I know, they don't even have anything to do with the processing of cases besides accepting the applications and cashing the checks. Or am I in the wrong here?

Does anyone have personal experiences how long it usually takes to get a reply from a Service Request or if there is anything else I can do to follow up? My application has been pending for exactly 7 months now. And whilst I know that "K-1 AOS can take up to a year or more", I'd like to get an update on my case.

    Thank you.

Hi, i have been in a car accident, a young girl was driving and she run the stop sign and T-boned me. My car rolled over at least 3 times, i survived with least though, i had cuts on my arm and 15 stitches.

Do you think this will effect my immigration? Crash report is not up yet, it has been 1 week. Trooper told me, she is at fault, she had to yield and she was messing with her defrost because she wasn't able to see from her windows. But still she was pulling her car in middle of the intersection.

I have my EAD my driver's license. But my GC is still in pending. So i don't know if they will think i am legally in here.

First of all, I'm sorry this has happened to you and wish you a speedy recovery!

I highly doubt that this will have any affect on your immigration journey whatsoever for a few reasons. 1. You're not at fault and 2. This isn't something like domestic violence that could make officials question your good character. If any concerns about your status ever come up (even though I don't know why they would), show them your I-485 NOA 1. It serves as proof of your authorized stay in the US whilst the I-485 is still being processed. Focus on your recovery and let your insurance / lawyer(s) handle the accident situation.

So I have this question when it comes to my wife getting her US Citizenship.  I know we're far away from it, but I'm sure this is a question that will have different answers and will stomp you guys.  So here goes (I am a US Citizen by the way):

So my wife and I got married on 2/10/17.  She arrived on a K-1 (fiancee visa) a couple of weeks before that date.  We've adjusted her status for a green card and just waiting to get it approved.  So, let's say the green card gets approved on 11/10/17 (I'm just guessing) and is good for 2 years from that date which means it will expire on 11/10/2019.  Once that time arrives...can she apply for US citizenship since it's 90 days from our 3 year marriage (anniversary would be 02/10/2020) and skip the removal of conditions? Just curious if we still need to apply for the removal of conditions.

You will always have to remove conditions, or at least file all the papers. However you can file all ROC papers and also file for her citizenship once she becomes eligible (2 years 9 months from when she first got her green card) regardless of her ROC status (pending or approved).
