  1. Hello everyone! We're at the NVC stage of this whole process and I have a question about the I-864. I am petitioning for my children (2); do I need to fill out 2 separate I-864's?
  2. Finally submitted my children's papers! Does anyone have a handy list/PDF of steps and documents I have to compile? My aunt, who has an affidavit, will be the person who'll do all of the legwork back home. I want to make it easier for her and the children. TIA
  3. I want to if I can without paying s**t LOL Do I need to update the certificate if I go to the SSA and change my name?
  4. See, that's what I don't know. Should I even change it?
  5. They asked me and my dumbass flaked cause I think I can use my judgement for it.
  6. I flaked on my name change during my interview as it will take longer for an oath ceremony. I want to revert back to my maiden name and I was hoping if anyone can help me. TIA! I just want to revert back to my maiden name. I asked SSA if my notice of judgment of dissolution will suffice for a name change to revert back to my maiden and they are okay with it so long as I was issued a SSN using my maiden name prior. The naturalization certificate will have my married name. I was wondering if I should make the SSA and DMV changes first then the passport? I'm concerned that my certificate of naturalization won't match the names.
  7. Interview was today and was approved!! I think I made a big mistake though about the name change. I want to revert back to my maiden name as my divorce decree didn't have that on there. I asked the IO how long it'll take and she said 3-4 months - when she said that, I took it back and asked her to place no on the name change. Can I use my divorce decree to revert back? I saw a post that that was fine and would like to confirm
  8. Interview was today - it went well and got approved!! Waiting for the oath taking ceremony schedule now. Good luck to everyone!! On a side note, I asked the IO if a name change back to my maiden name after a divorce would delay the oath taking by a couple of months and she said yes so I didn't proceed with it. I'm not sure if I made a very big mistake or I can use a divorce decree (name change not part of judgement) as a document to change my name back
  9. Got my interview scheduled!! October 20!! Good luck to us all! ❤️
  10. Long story short, I'm (mom) in the states and my kids are back home. I had an Affidavit of Support and Consent and a Legal Guardianship apostilled and sent to my aunt for their DFA passporting. The Affidavit of Suport states that my aunt would be the travelling companion but it's going to be me. DSWD is going to issue a clearance. I was wondering if this would suffice with the DFA for the passporting to go through with my aunt? Does anyone have any experience with this one? TIA!
  11. Should a divorce be a cause for concern when applying using the 5-year rule? We got divorced approx. 2 years after I got the 10-year green card and have lots of evidence proving bona fide marriage - it simply just did not work out. I am really stressing out if this will, in any way, affect the results of the N400... Any help will be greatly appreciated!
