i dont need to change coz i am husband my wife will change when she goes to usa
Oh you will too. They just haven't made you suffered enough yet. Once they feel they have really broken you, then they will approve you.
Lol sorry I'm just exaggerating. But I hate the TSC so much.

Truer words were never spoken, Sekhvaruli.I wish they tracked all the NVC process for us, the way we do it here at VJ. They would save a lot of time, answering our phone calls.
-
Interesting isn't, because when you had called them they said they didn't receive it on 8/20, similar to what happened when I sent mine in. Urvashi has a jump on us by a week or so lol. My scan date is 8/19, only one day ahead of yours.
a 20 day CC is the goal now.
I don't know Shams. Additionally, we also have this thing where they've misspelled my husband's middle name. We sent in a photocopy of his passport and an official letter which was delivered to them on 21st. I called today and they told me they haven't received it, and like 20 minutes later I have an email from them saying they have it. Lol.
It's a crazy agency. Also the rep told me how they don't really concern themselves with the petitioner's name, and if they had th r beneficiary's name correctly, that is all they care about.
Still they will update it when they get a copy of my husband's passport. Gosh I hope all of those things are done soon. And we still get a case complete by 12th of September.
-
I received an email this morning saying NVC received documents on 08/20/2015 and to allow 30 days.
I submitted my DS-260 on 08/21/2015 so would the 30 days start from the 20th or the 21st?
And whats your guys's scan dates? It seems like the three of us are in the same vicinity at this point ... am I right?
And another member just posted a 20 day CC so hopefully we too can receive that 20 day CC.
BTW which three boxes will the three N/A's show up when it's completed?
Last question lol will the "civil documents" and "AOS Documents and Financial Evidence" always say N/A?
Well, my documents scan date is 12th of August and I submitted my ds-260 on 19th of August. I asked the same question and everyone here on visa journey told me to start counting from when they received the documents.
I too hope we get a CC so soon! Gosh that is all I practically think about. Getting to my husband.
And, yeah. The civil and aos documents will always be n/a, but the aos fee, iv fee and iv application boxes will change to n/a.
-
I so want that.
As an update it was 20 days, so there is hope lol.
Have you called them? I called today and the lady told me they haven't reviewed our documents yet and that they probably will by 12th of September.
-
You are the second person I have noticed in this thread with a case complete, 21 days after the scan date. So they can go faster than 30 days if they want to lol.
Hoping we fly through the NVC too Shams!

I didn't have a barcode on my I-864
Yeah, I don't think they are super important. I've never seen someone getting a checklist for not having the barcodes on their I-864 form.
-
Hmm, one person with, one without . . . so is the barcode on the i-864 necessary or not?
You should note that I filled out the I-864EZ not the I-864. I checked for the I-864EZ, but there are no barcodes on it in any of the browsers or different computers I tried. Also I opened them with the Adobe acrobat, but no barcodes, while at the same time, I-864 does have the barcodes. So I guess I-864EZ doesn't have any barcodes at all. Doesn't even have any blank space for barcodes like it shows up in the simple I-864.
But since we didn't use the I-864, we didn't think much of it.
Which one are you filling out?
-
So I've filled in the i-864 I downloaded from the USCIS site but I don't see a barcode on the form . . . am I misunderstanding what this is supposed to be? Or is it because I'm using a mac?
Sorry if this is a silly question, I feel like I read somewhere about a barcode on the i-864 but now can't find anything about it, just about barcodes on the coversheet, so just want to make sure I understand everything before I send it in!
We didn't have a barcode on our I-864EZ and we didn't use a mac.
-
thanks for ur reply
i will look online do you knew about uscis they update there website..?
thnKS FOR UR TIME AGAIN
Well, we never got an email or any kind of mail from the USCIS. We found out about the approval from the website when we checked the case status. It will be 2 months this 6th September since we were approved, and still we haven't gotten any mail. Lol.
I am just glad I am out of the hell-hole that is TSC.

I'm petitioner though - I was born in Ahmedabad. (shahibag)
I came to india in January/February - lived at ranna park, ghatlodia ?
My wife is from Ahmedabad too but currently in Surat
Haha. Nice. I am the beneficiary and am from Ahmedabad. Also, my husband was born here but left when he was just a child. My father in law is from Surat though.
Agree with shahmalhar, the world is definitely small.
-
Where in Gujarat?
Ahmedabad
-
thanks for your time i am from Punjab
Okay. I am from Gujarat and I have seen other 3 people from Gujarat having the same issue. It should be the same in all states but don't know for sure. Anyways. It's always better to be proactive than reactive. So doing some inquiry would be good.
-
what i have to do for my wife ? she is us citizen
Well, the PCC is needed only for the beneficiary. So you should do some inquiry at your local PSK and find out if you need her name in your passport. What state are you from?

Is anyone else waiting for AOS fee to be invoiced after filling out 261, Online Choice of Address and Agent?
After getting the case number, I submitted DS261 and it says completed, but there is no AOS fee to be paid yet.
Any suggestions?
Well, seeing as your case number was only assigned on 21st of August, which was a Friday, I think you will be invoiced for the AOS fees by Monday. Mine showed up a day after I got my case number and submitted the DS-261. Although you should know the ds261 does not have any connection to the aos fees.
The point is, your fees would have been invoiced by now had it not been for the weekend.
Keep us posted!

I sent my AOS & IV package 2 weeks after I submitted DS260 online. So have I to count the 30 days from the day I filled DS260 or from the day I sent the package?
Hey M.B. I too am a bit confused about this. My case is opposite to yours. I submitted ds-260 a week after the packages were received by the NVC. But they ask for 30 days review time after we do both these steps.
Although everyone on visa journey has been saying we need to count 30 days from when we sent the packages in.
-
It depends. My wife, an Indian national, got her PCC from the passport office without adding my (her husband's) name to her passport. She was issued a PCC without any issue and we now have case complete at NVC.
And due to unpredictable NVC delays, coupled with the fact PCCs come with an expiration date, it is advisable to go for a PCC after case arrives at NVC.
Well, I'm just sharing my experience. I already know 3 other people who were denied a PCC because they hadn't added their spouse's name in their passport. So better to be prepared.
Also, the PCC doesn't expire for a year now. So if you get a PCC around the time you are expecting your approval, you'll be fine.

Hello.. All..!!
I am new to this Forum..as well I am new to Bisa Journey..!
My Case is CR-1 and at NVC..
Completed the AOS and IV package!
Completed DS-260 too finally today morning..!
Our documents were recieved by NVC on August 6' 2015 ..
And They are taking 30 days for review..
I just wanted to ask i read all this new words here..
Scan date
3N/A's
Cc and all.. What does this mean? Can anybody help me out?
And Yeah.. My consulate is BMB
Any other here who is in the sameboat as me?
Hello Gazala, I will have my interview at the Bombay consulate too and my scan date is 12th of August.
So, scan date is the date the NVC received your documents. So your scan date will be 6th of august.
3 N/A's show up on your CEAC website account when you log in. The AOS and IV fee that are showing right now as "PAID" will change to N/A, same with the IV application(DS-260).
CC stands for case complete. The NVC will review all your documents and if everything is fine, it will complete your case. Hence, you will get a CASE COMPLETE, after which the NVC will schedule your interview in Bombay.
Hope that was helpful.

thanks for your reply again
me and my wife staying in India our case is in Nebraska service center its been 4.5 month and what documents nvc ask you did damm good at nvc i never see anyone from india that fast
so plz share your experience thanks
Oh atleast you guys are together. Me and my husband are separated by 7500 miles!
Anyways, what I did was this.
While I was awaiting approval from the TSC, I got my passport changed in order to get my husband's name added in there. I did this in April.
Next, in June I got my PCC issued.
Now, as soon as i got the approval in July, I collected all my documents and shipped them to my husband, also we pre filled out the DS-260 to be ready. We also filled out the I-864 and were ready to print it out and sign it.
The documents we sent are as follows:
>> AOS package:
I-864EZ original signed and dated
Original tax transcripts for years 2014,2013,2012
Copies of W-2's for years 2014,2013,2012
Copy of my husband's(the petitioner) employment letter indicating his current income
Copies of pay stubs for the last 7 months(Jan to July)
Copy of my husband's naturalization certificate(You do not need this if you are filling out the I-864EZ form, but we still sent it to be on the safer side)
>>IV package:
Photocopy of my Birth Certificate
Photocopy of our Marriage Certificate
2 passport size pictures of me
Photocopy of first 2 and the biographic data page of my passport
Photocopy of my PCC
That's it. You should be prepared with all these documents if you want to not spend more time than necessary at the NVC.
We haven't received a case complete yet, but our 30 days aren't over yet. Hopefully we will get the case complete before they are up(12th of September).
Good luck!
-
hey my spouse case got completed in April and interview was scheduled in June in Mumbai. By reading these posts about New Delhi, Mumbai is definitely much faster in scheduling CR1 interviews. I would say New Delhi - 2 to 3 months while Mumbai - 0.5 to 1 month.
Alright well, that is a relief. I will have my interview at the Bombay consulate too, so was just wondering if it takes 2-3 months to.
Thanks a ton!
-
thanks for ur reply.do you knew about k3 visa how long it take ? what kind of documents NVC ask i saw your profile you did very good on nvc
thanks again for your time
I am sorry but I don't have an idea about the K3 visa. My husband and I are doing the I-130 only so I have not researched anything.
Let me know if you have any questions about the I-130 though.
-
We have been through the same thing as you at the same service centers and around the same dates as you. We have placed calls to tier 2 people and still have gotten the same old "the service center may be backed up " excuse. I feel your frustration! we have our I130 at Nebraska and asked if it would be meeting up. Still we have gotten just a maybe. No real answers. Where is your I130 at? if it is at one of those centers you may be in luck to have it processed sooner from the research I have done online. If you contact a state representative that may help also. However, we have done that and still are counting days.
The thing is, you guys are still in the regular processing times. It will take AT LEAST 5 months for your I-130s to get adjudicated. So calling right now might not help in my opinion. Just wait till your 5 months are over and then start calling. Right now you're just wasting your time and energy by calling and worrying. It will come in its own time.
Also, while you are waiting, you can start preparing and collecting the documents that will be needed at the NVC stage.
Note: For Indian nationals, it is advisable you get your spouse's name added in your passport, because without it, the Passport office will NOT issue you a PCC. So that is something you can get done now. And in a month, you may go and get your PCC issued so you have it ready when you need to send it.

Well, we did sign both the letters, but since my husband wrote both cover letters he's the one who signed both.Does the cover letter written by us (not the barcode one) for AOS and IV package documents need to be signed? If so does it needs to be signed by the Petitioner or Beneficiary or Agent?
Thanks.
Oh, he's the petitioner. Do not know anything about an agent though.
-
We did create the cover letters. Did not use the sticky pads though.I sent AOS/Civil Documents package yesterday for both wife and stepchild, 2 separate envelopes. Since I did not have the document cover sheet nvc sends by mail...I used the aos cover sheet, but did not create a cover letter to specify the documents I am sending...did any of you created a cover letter? did you use sticky pads to separate all documents? birth c./marriage/pcc?
From what I understand, document cover letters are not compulsory. But, it is good to have them. It gives them an idea as to what documents are where so they can find them easily. I don't think your in for a checklist or anything for not including a cover letter though.

Hey SiVin, have you been calling the NVC? What are they saying?
