  1. Oh ok, if that comes up then I think that is a pretty good response to give. I don't think it would hurt to take some document showing the join account you two have.

Make sense about the phone calls. Sounds good about the pictures.

I do think what you have will be sufficient. Only other thing that comes to mind is if your husband gave your any cards, wrote letters etc.

You are welcome. I am glad to see that you are almost done with this process especially after what you went through at the NVC.

They did an update on our case this past Monday but we are still in AP. Not sure what they are doing behind the scenes. I do need them to issue the visa though. Since they interview there has been two updates to our case but we are still in AP.

Well we wrote letters to each other in the form of emails. So we have loads and loads of those.

Also, can you not call the embassy and ask them what's going on or just get an update?

You will be in my prayers Shams. I really do hope your visa gets issued super soon and you get reunited with your spouse before this year ends. God be good to everyone waiting for their visas.

  2. Urvashi,

You evidence looks pretty good. Do you have any receipts where your husband sent money, if so that would be good. Possibly maybe a joint account you guys have.

Pictures are good especially those with you and other people, possibly family members.

I sent phone records but they didn't look at that at the interview.

I take it PCC is the police certificate?

Go in and answer the questions and you should be good to go. All the best.

Well we dont have any money transfer receipts because we haven't had any money transferred between us. I live in India with my parents so I didn't need my husband to send me any money.

We do have a joint account here in India but we never really used it. Also, I don't have many phone call records since its super expensive to make calls to the US from here so we always chose to make Skype calls instead of regular phone calls.

And yes. The Pcc is the police certificate.

The pictures of wedding include pictures of just us, with our families, his friends from the US and other guests. Same with different trips he took to India to see me. We have all those pictures with our families and also we have pictures from a trip we took with his friends in India right after the wedding.

These things should be enough I'm guessing.

And thank you so much Shams! You've been great.

What's the update on your AP?

  3. i had my interview today ...

they put me on Administrative processing ...

when i checked it online the status shows

Administrative processing Case Creation Date: 19-Aug-2015 Status Updated Date: 10-Dec-2015

Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days. Under the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act, Immigrant Visas for "Diversity Visas" cannot be issued after September 30th of the year in which you were selected to apply for a Diversity Visa. For example, entrants into the Diversity Visa Program in Fall of 2011 were selected for Diversity Visa 2012 Program, and selectees MUST apply and receive their visa prior to September 30, 2012 otherwise they lose eligibility to receive a Diversity Immigrant Visa, regardless of additional administrative processing. In addition, please note that some immigrant visas may not be able to be issued if the annual numerical limit for that category has been reached.

  4. Hey guys! We have our interview on Monday and I am so nervous.

We do have all our documents in order but.. I am scared! The one thing I am scared about is.. we didn't sent too much proof with our I-130 petition. But we have a lot of proof that we are going to take to the interview. But I am a bit worried.

Anyways, let me tell you our checklist.

    1. Original P4 + photocopy

    2. DS-260 confirmation + complete form

    3. Current + old passports + 2 passport photos

    4. Original Birth and Marriage Certificate + photocopies

    5. Original PCC + photocopy

    6. Original signed I-864EZ + Tax transcripts of 2014,2013,2012 + W-2's of 2014,2013,2012

    7. Paystubs for the year of 2015 + Employment letter

    8. Medical Report

    9. A copy of everything we sent to the USCIS

    10. A copy of petitioner's passport + Naturalization Certificate + Social Security Card + Driving license

    And then we have proof:

    1. Skype Call logs of past year and a half

    2. Whatsapp chats of first 3 months and last 3 months(there is just too much whatsapp data)

    3. Facebook chat messages of past 2 years

    4. Travel itineraries of 4 trips we took together

    5. Boarding passes and tickets to our honeymoon

    6. Hotel bills

    7. Over a 150 wedding pictures including pictures from all the wedding events(4 different events) + atleast 20 pictures each from the 4 trips we took together

    8. Immigration stamps on the petitioner's(my husband) passport showing the trips he took to India to visit me

    9. Over a 100 emails we sent each other

Basically we have met every 6 months in the past 2 years so we have taken many trips together.

So these are all the things we have. Is the proof enough? Are we missing any documents?

    Please respond.

Can anyone please respond? It will be a huge help.

  7. Hi,

I had a question. I got married on 28 Dec 2014 and have put filing status single for irs return 1040 ez.

yes I know it is mentioned on vj that no matter where your spouse is, if you are married at end of tax period that is 31 Dec 2014 then one has to file as married filing jointly or married filing separately.

now situation is that I have interview in 10 days from now. and if it comes to co's notice it could be a red flag. but my reason is that we didn't file married because beneficiary doesn't have Ssn number. we didn't have any other intention to hide or something. now I cannot ammend returns now as it takes three weeks to get amended return. if counter asked what answer can I give to support? any suggestions? has anyone got into such a situation. your inputs could be a great help.

Hey! Why don't you ask this question on the regular January interview forum? There are a lot more people there who might be able to give some input. :)

  8. ISSUED! :joy:

Since the day after the interview 3 days ago, I've been unable to resist looking at our case on CEAC every few hours. It went from Ready, to Administrative Processing the same day as the interview on the 18th. It was still AP 2 hours ago but now it's changed to ISSUED and I am soooo happy. Thank you God!

Oh my gosh I am so happy for you Lowlie! I have been reading your posts about the difficulties you've had to go through. Just be glad it is all over and keep on having faith that true love can conquer everything!!

    Cheers to love!

  9. Thank You.

So even you are in the city so you still you have to go to a Blue dart location...that's kind of shitty ...so why do they have a pickup location in the biometrics building ....Am I missing something here?

Hey Seema! Do you have any idea how long it will take to get my passport back after the interview? My interview is on 14th! I really need to fly out on 22nd Dec since there is a family thing in the US on 24th.

  10. No worries. They usually send it 2 weeks befor interview date. Sometimes they wait for other packages needing to go to the same place at the same time.

Oh thank you so much ZaakirahDemba! I knew I should not be worried but at this point I have just gotten a bit paranoid. Lol.

And congratulations on your approval! I'm so happy for everyone getting reunited with their loved ones!! Gosh I hope to God we get the same outcome at our interview too! Please pray for us!

  11. Hey guys, just wondering. Everywhere they say bring original interview call letter(P4), so are we going to get like an official letter via post and that is what we are supposed to take with us to medical, biometrics, etc? Or can we just print out the P4 we received via email and would that be counted as original?

I am really confused about this, please help!

My interview is exactly in a month!

Also, if anyone can tell me about the documents we will need for biometrics, that would be super nice!

  12. Guys, I want to know if we will need the original I-864EZ form with the petitioner's signature or just a scanned copy of the original with his signature?

Also do I need his original tax transcripts? Or the copies would do? We sent originals of both to the NVC.

I read on the Consulate Interview Forum that when going to the interview, your AOS has to be signed in Blue ink by the petitioner. I looked at mine and my souse signed it in Black Ink. Should we re-print it and sign it in blue. Does anyone know if that would be an issue ?

Does this mean my husband can't just email me the scanned copy of the AOS and will need to print and sign and physically ship it to me for the interview? (I am the beneficiary)

  13. Guys, can anyone please guide me as to how we can schedule the biometrics appointment for Mumbai Embassy?

I tried creating an account on the cgifederal website, but it won't let me create a new user.

I am just a bit anxious as 14th isn't too far away and I am afraid all the spots will be taken for the biometrics since Mumbai is a very busy embassy! Help!

  14. Thanks Urvashi! hubby wasn't told who the case was escalated to. This is my 3rd month at NVC. Scan date is August 17th. The case was put on supervisor review after 2 months on the 20th of October. When my husband called got to speak with a supervisor on the 2nd of November, the supervisor he spoke with promised to put a note on our case saying she wasn't in charge.

Husband called on the 3rd and was told the case has been escalated.

Hmm. Sounds weird if you ask me. I'd suggest you call again today. These reps have no idea as to what's going on. They'll say whatever comes to their mind. Only trust the supervisors.
