    Good morning everyone

Update Just got off the phone a little while ago with a tier 2 officer . I called in regarding the User-Defined error she did confirm to me that its an ongoing issue they are work on and that the lasts update on the case was that they were requesting my wife for interview. So happy for the news this morning also she put me on a brief hold while she double checked and told me yup they are requesting for an interview. No date yet confirmed hope to see mail this week.

Congrats!! Nice to hear someone in NY is getting an interview this soon. We're in Queens!

Hi guys, how do yall deal with this waiting? All I think about is going back home. I see my friends and family having fun, skiing, traveling, working...while I sit at home and waiting for my wife. I hate the fact this country stole time from my life and my dignity. Ive been reduced from a self sufficient working person to a charity case sitting home because there is so little to do around :-( Help me please, how do you fill your days so that I can find other things to think about instead of quickly packing all our stuff and never coming back here. I dont even care about the GC anymore, I just want the AP so my wife and I can wait elsewhere.

    Hey BoredToDeath

Hang in there its tough especially the waiting game. This entire process is very frustrating but just keep focused. You can try volunteering that would get u out the house! I volunteer at the boys and girls club twice per week for a couple hrs, and I make the library my second home (I'm an avid reader) I try to fill the gaps with tv series but I must admit its not easy. I've gained almost 20lbs since I stopped working 😢 so now I'm getting bk into the habit of working out and trying to focus on that else I'm going to lose my mind.

I agree with volunteering! It can be for causes, events or even festivals.

@nanaaalex wait, so did you get a Request for Evidence letter or a rejection notice? Because if it is a rejection, you have to resend the paperwork with the correct fees but if it is an RFE then you only have to resend what they asked for. This does not guarantee you won't get another RFE, though. I have seen some who got an RFE before the biometrics and another one after. If you did get a rejection, I suggest reviewing your paperwork carefully and ensuring everything is correct and complete to avoid getting an RFE, or worse, another rejection notice. Good luck!

It was a rejection notice. I already sent back the paperwork so I can only hope that everything was okay and we don't get a RFE this time...

  5. Trying to figure out which form to send....We were about to send out the AOS this month on our own until my husband lost his job. He is now doing media jobs that are not consistent enough yet for the needed income.

His dad accepted to co sponsor me but we also live with him. We figured doing the i-864a would be best but we are planning on moving out his place this Fall so we won't be part of that household pretty soon. Which one should we file?

    Thanks in advance!

  6. Sooo the AOS still hasn't been sent lol. My husband went with H&R block (they are the ones that said it would take 10 business days) and they ended up ripping him off so he dealt with the IRS directly. He started going there weekly in December and they have made it difficult for him to get his tax return, till this day he still doesn't have it. He lost his job the first week of January and he hasn't found another one yet.

His dad finally accepted to be the co sponsor. We gathered all of his info today but do we still need to gather my husband's tax documents? He has no history with the IRS. Can we just write a letter explaining the situation or wait who knows how long for the IRS to give back the 2016 and 2017 tax returns? (my medical expires in March)

  7. Everything is printed, photocopied and signed but we are missing two things. My husband's proof of US citizenship since he lost his birth certificate and passport <_< but he should be able to pick a copy this week. He thought his old employer had done his 2016 taxes this whole time. (He doesn't have anything for 2014 and 2015) He got it done this week and was told it would take 10 business days.

My 90 days will be done in 2 weeks, can I send everything now or do we really need to wait for the US citizenship proof and transcript? The I-864 got accepted in Canada because we wrote a letter explaining our situation, can I do the same thing for the AOS?

Excellent write-up. But why mess with Lionel-Groulx and the metro? Bus 747 runs right past the consulate on Blvd René-Lévesque. If you're staying anywhere close to the consulate (I used the Mariott a block away), it's a lot easier to take the bus all the way.

    I agree!
