Hi all! Sorry I haven't been around for a while. It has been a crazy last month or so. Soloenta, I am glad to hear you are feeling better and finally got your new furniture! I wish I was still there to see it!
Anyway, I came to report good and bad news.
Good news, my husband had his interview on the 10th and was approved, alhamdulillah. It was a very quick and painless interview lasting around 5 minutes, and he was asked the standard questions not focusing on any one area for more than a question or two. At the end, he was compelled to tell the CO, wait, it's over already? But I didn't show you even half of the evidence my wife prepared for this. Hahaha!
And for the bad news, which I am sure most of you are aware of. All overseas visa printing has temporarily been suspended. Of course, this just so happened to be announced the day after our interview. I just spent the last few days watching all the people with Cairo interviews from June 3rd - June 7th get their visas within 4 - 6 days so I was hopeful that we would have ours in that time as well, and the hubby would be flying in this coming Friday, but of course, as has happened with everything since reaching NVC and beyond, there's good ol' Murphy's Law. Lol!
Hopefully this won't last long and all of us waiting will be with our loved ones soon.

Too bad. I have been checking ustraveldoc websites all across the globe, they all say the same thing. Its really funny how long it takes to replace a faulty hardware you know (just saying).

How many departments admit they have been hacked? Considering this "Software failure" happened at the same time they got hacked by China, I don't think they want to admit that important visa information has been compromised.

I must agree with Phil on this, and not with all the 'dump him' people. Having actually been through a divorce late in life, I certainly found that the period afterwards and for quite some time did involve an awful lot of involuntary going back over decisions and the life and a lot of deep thinking that does physically take time.
You do feel very different after the divorce and a lot of that is unexpected. This is very hard to suggest, but I do agree with stopping trying to persuade him, as that may be part of the 'fog' he's in right now.
I think he needs to work through this on his own without distractions, and to realise that yes, now he is free, he does want to make a firm commitment, and he has now realised how much he loves and misses you.
Or....he just drifts away into some sort of bachelor life and never goes anywhere..
I'd suggest you let him know you think kindly of him, and are happy to be just a friend if he needs to talk, and keep him in your thoughts, but start building your life without him.

At least they have nearly a month to fix it before your interview. Literally the worst news are those who just had their interviews and have been expecting their visas the last few days. How many of them starting buying planes tickets and making plans? You are in a much better scenario.

We would have loved to have visited with you and your husband more and shown you more of our beautiful city. I pray everyday you are given the opportunity to reaffirm your relationship. It's obvious by the way your husband looks at you, he is just as crazy about you as you are him, if not more.

14 months and 3 weeks ago I put our I-130 package in the mail. I’m happy to report that today my husband picked up his passport with the visa and booked his flight to come home. He will arrive on Monday.
Our journey is neither the shortest nor the longest here; we’ve only been long distance for 2 years which is much shorter than some people in this community. All the same I feel like I have fought a war and won.
I want to sincerely thank VisaJourney and all the members who have helped us on our journey. I know 100% that I couldn’t have done this without you. When first looking into the process I thought I would need a lawyer but with the guidance of these forums we made it without one; you have helped every step of the way. I would especially like to thank these people for their invaluable help: Saylin, Dwheels, Soloenta, Maharosa, TBoneTX, Boiler, Darnell, and the people in the MENA forum. We made it because of you.
I’ll be sticking around VJ but I figured if there was a time to make my Oscar/Academy Award speech it would be now.

My husband said the CO was kind of intimidating at first as she visually examined him from head to toe and held a very serious face for the first couple minutes. He did say after the first couple of questions, she finally lightened up a bit. Insha'Allah, for those that have upcoming interviews, it will be just as painless.

The reason I am so angry is because we were expedited at USCIS because of my grandfather being so ill, we have been stuck at NVC for ever despite not receiving any checklists. All of my expedite requests have been denied by the embassy despite my grandfathers ailing health and that it costs me $300 a day to pay someone to care for him when I am at work. I was assured that when I did finally get an interview, it would be the earliest possible interview and that people are given dates in order of CC. This is obviously not the case. While a week might not seem like a big deal, but when you only have so much money saved, and that money is depleting quickly, it's a huge deal.
