  1. That would be crazy, what a small world! We are flying Westjet and our medical is Monday the same day as your interview. Please pretty please post a review of your experience I would love to read it before our interview Friday.

Yes Austin I'll be sure to post our review, good or bad (but hopefully good). Good luck on yours as well, I'm sure everything will go just fine.

That's weird I typed a reply to target November but it didn't post

I am grateful the nice weather is holding up,thanks for the tips!

I will be sure to let you know how it goes! I am flying westjet too! Are you flying direct or via Toronto? Would be ridiculous if we were on the same flight.

what do you mean with both ready? ceac says Frankfurt, and visa application status says ready ^_^

Thank you I will email them monday  so I can do my medical already right? I thought I have to have the interview letter to do that?

Sorry, it was an awkward choice of words. I meant if it says ready and Frankfurt then they should be able to schedule you any time! Some countries allow you to take the medical before you have the interview letter, but most don't. So, I would phone the physicians office and ask/explain you have an expedite and could have an interview on short notice (or whatever you want to tell them) and maybe just maybe they will see you, or at least let you book an appointment. I would also be calling/emailing/sending an online inquiry to the embassy in Frankfurt asap (today!) to ask if they have scheduled you yet and if not, to let them know you are ready and waiting for interview date. Good luck! Many including myself have tried and failed at getting an expedite so run with it!

  2. Hey all I was just wondering when to expect to get my interview scheduled? Got the expedite process approved on oct 28 :dancing: and ceac status said ''in transit'' first and since yesterday ''ready'' . Anybody knows about the expedite process? US embassy in Frankfurt in Germany. Oh can I also go ahead and do the medical.

    Help and advices much appreciated.

    TIA

If it says both ready, and current processing site is the embassy in your country on ceac then I would start trying to communicate with the embassy! Most require you to send an online inquiry or email so go ahead and do that! If there is any way to phone I would do that too. I don't know for sure because I did not get an expedite but this is what I understand from other posts I have seen. And it doesn't hurt to try!

  3. A very happy status update: My wife's visa was approved at her interview this morning in London.

I will write up a more detailed review later but here is the quick version:

I went with her to the embassy but I did not go in. We arrived around 7:15am. I waited at a coffee shop around the corner. Everyone at the embassy was friendly and helpful. She was inside in under 15 minutes. She waited 15 minutes for her number to be called, then spent about 15/20 minutes at the first window going over her documents and answering some questions. There was another 15 minute wait before the actual interview at the second window. The interview took only 5 minutes and she was asked only three questions:

    - How long have you been married?

    - Where is your husband now?

    - What do you plan to do after you arrive in the USA?

Then the agent said she was approved.

All in all, she was out of there and back with me in an hour and a half.

One thing to note is they didn't want to take my updated I-864. I moved on October 1st and was hoping they would take a new one with my new address. They would have none of that! I guess I will need to file the paperwork with USCIS to let them know of my change of address?

Around the time the agent mentioned the words "approved", the CEAC case status changed to "Administrative Processing."

We filed the I-130 almost 14 months ago. It feels like an eternity. I can't say I enjoyed all the uncertainty and waiting of this past year. I'm thrilled to have all of that now behind us!

Wonderful news! This was so great to wake up to and read this morning!!!! Huge congratulations. Please let us know how it goes with getting it issued and received and POE! Thrilled for you and your wife!!

  4. We leave for our interview in Montreal on Sunday, wow that came fast! Today was my last day at work before our trip, and we are putting our house up for sale the day we get back so life has been a whirlwind!

Combined air miles with credit card points to get 2 round trip flights to montreal for only $12, was super happy about that! The hotel we are staying in has a pool and hot tub, we are there for 5 days for the medical and then interview so I will definitely be making use of those.

Like the poster from Winnipeg, I didn't get the RCMP police certificate only the Winnipeg one with National Criminal Records search box checked off so hopefully that will be enough, if it is not there is no time to do anything else at this point. I have not gotten any extra checklists or requests for info from the consulate so I am really hoping we will be okay.

Like the poster from Alberta, we will be doing our medical and interview all on the same trip, medisys told me they need 3 business days to process results, I gave them 4 just to be safe. I'm grateful that our interview fell on a Friday so we don't have to stay for the weekend when no processing is being done anyway.

Tonight I have to finish packing our bags and getting the final touches put on the immigration binder, tomorrow a trip to the spa for a couples massage, the perfect way to unwind from all this stress before the interview so we can be relaxed and natural. SO excited to move on to the next part of our lives already!

I am flying to Montreal on Sunday too! Maybe we'll bump into one another I will be scouting out the location of the embassy Sunday evening - My interview is Monday! Good luck with everything. I opted to just go with my regional police cert as well since the box was checked that there was no match on the RCMP database. Hopefully fine! I did get an email requesting a couple things (petitioners birth cert, kids' citizenship proof), but no request for a new police cert.

  5. Exciting news! Interview was scheduled yesterday on 10/29 for December 10th (Montreal)

I previously mentioned I was going to wait and call Friday, but I got so antsy and decided to call just now after reading others got interviews scheduled.

Canadians - I would call now if you can!

    CC: 10/21

WOW. Canada is much faster at scheduling this month! I had cc sept 10th (when they were still scheduling October interviews!), they didn't assign an interview date for October so I had to wait until the nov round, which started Oct 1. Then they didn't schedule for Canada until after almost all other countries seemed to have their interview dates, it was a couple days later, finally on Oct 3. My interview is Nov 3 (Monday!!). Overall the time from cc to interview is similar for both your case and mine but that waiting nearly a month to find out was tough to endure! You had only 8 days of waiting - that is awesome! Congrats and good luck!!

  6. I had the interview yesterday. The whole experience took like 25-30 minutes. First in the embassy they got me through metal detector and checked all I was carrying, after that they sent me in the building where I was having the interview, a nice lady asked for my passport, for my renewed police certificate, the TNT confirmation (this is only for Romania) and all the proofs of relationship. This took like maximum 5 minutes. After the CO called my name, took my fingerprints and my oath. The consul asked me how we met, how many times my husband visited me and when we married. And that was all! He said "Congratulations, your visa is approved! You can pick it up on monday. Welcome to America!" On the website it showed ISSUED in less than an hour after the interview. I am so happy!!!! POE is on Boston on the 7th Nov. Yaaaaay!!!!!!!! Good luck to everyone!!! :dancing:(L):dancing: :joy: :dancing:

Wow so great! Congratulations!!! Good luck on your POE! So happy for you! Thanks for sharing your experience!

  7. hello folks....my case was completed on october 23rd (scan date aug 28th)....any chance of being squeezed in for a november interview date you reckon?

Please fill out your timeline so we know what country you are going to interview in! You could end up with a December date and then request an earlier (ie November) date if they have one available once your case file actually reaches the embassy. But it totally depends what country you are in! Canada for example is usually all full for the current month and unwilling to move dates. The UK and other countries are more willing to accommodate requests for earlier dates. Good luck! I hope those of you waiting for the December dates have good news soon!!

  8. I went to the RCMP office in my city and paid $60. :star: I got my RCMP certificate 10 minutes later!

A long drive tomorrow to the nearest RCMP office sounds better than risking 3-4 weeks of AP that might otherwise be avoided! Ahhh! When will this process and the ongoing uncertainty end?!

Question, was it before July 1, 2014 that you got your RCMP cert? Is it called police clearance cert? Or criminal record check?

  9. If they didn't ask for it then you're fine... Just bring anything and everything though just because preparedness is never bad! I think my little "checklist" is because NVC stated they "sent" my certificate to the consulate even though it was only a scan, so that was wrong, and also maybe it's not "official" enough. It really is just a dinky piece of paper that I filled out and then someone checked off "no matched" and stamped it with a red stamp. I might aswell just get the fingerprint version from RCMP.

So if all they asked from you were birth certificates, just bring those. I was just lucky enough to have two items that I need to update! :P

It should be okay if they didn't ask for a new police certificate. :star: It may be case by case.

But... I remember seeing one case on Facebook that the Montreal Consulate didn't issue a visa to a filer who submitted a regional police certificate. :dead:

They had to get an RCMP certificate and that delayed their case by 3-4 weeks! :bonk:

Thank you both for your replies. I wonder if everyone from Canada usually provides the RCMP cert? I don't think I have time to get this done before my interview on Monday! The RCMP website says that fingerprints are now required for all criminal record checks as of July 1, 2014. I am going to have to do a little searching around about this later tonight and weigh my options!

  10. I suggest that you get a police certificate from RCMP.

There was someone who got a police certificate from their local police station.

The Montreal Consulate told them that it wasn't good enough. :bonk:

I also hope I don't get AP! :star: Fingers crossed!

Are you kidding me?! I have a regional police cert. And a police cert from the country I was living in for 4 years. They didn't ask me for a new police cert. They did ask for husband's birth cert and kids' US citizenship proof. What do I do?!

  11. I'm from Alberta.. Hmmmmm hope I can do both medical and interview in 1 trip. Otherwise it would cost me more paying for the flights, etc... Thanks for the infos!

Plenty of people do the medical in Montreal on the same trip, I think they are pretty fast at getting the results and packet together. Maybe ask them how many days in advance you need to book for, and search around for other peoples' experiences! It should all work out fine!

  12. Hi.. Hope somebody from Canada can answer my question. I was wondering if the US consulate in Montreal is the only place where immigrant visa interviews are being conducted? Or do they also do it in other embassies such as the one in Alberta? Also how early should you do your medical exam prior to the interview? Thanks!

Only Montreal for interview for spouse/family of a US citizen. Book and do your medical ASAP after you receive your interview/P4 letter. And be warned some doctors take way longer to get the results back! I made the mistake of going to the one in Vaughan ON because it was a somewhat easier drive for me to get to (still over 2 hours). I should have gone to the one in Toronto because I think that's where Austincanada went and he got his results the next day. The place I went took 2 FULL WEEKS! And then I got them the next business day - 15 total days later! And I had to follow up with them to get them to follow up with the people to get the blood results back, so that they could actually finish my packet and send it! The last thing I needed was more stress.

Where are you? Many people have to fly for both their medical and of course the interview. Good luck!!

  13. Have been really busy and traveling back and forth so haven't had time to post my normal rants on here recently... :)

Just wanted to update the thread that the USEM in London has rescheduled my wife's interview to Halloween. This is really helpful. It feels great to finally be dealing with real people who have actual beating hearts.

I haven't looked at anything regarding the courier options and payments or ELIS. I guess that's next on the list of things to figure out...

Congrats! Finally some good news and things happening "faster" than expected for you!

I am not sure if you saw my post but it turns out in Canada they won't move interviews earlier unless it is for extreme health or humanitarian reasons :( Oh well, my interview is a week from Monday anyway now!! :) :) Good luck to you and your wife on Friday!

  14. Canadian folks! :star: Quick question! :huh2:

I just received an email from the Montreal Consulate asking me to bring the petitioner's original birth certificate to the interview.

Not a big deal - I will bring it with me.

I was just wondering if you received the same email.

Yes, I got that email yesterday! Thank goodness I have it because it would be very short notice to get it otherwise! I guess it is a new requirement. We sent in a copy of it with the I-130 so I guess it makes sense they need to see original. They also asked for me what "status" my children have in the US and to email scans of my childrens' passports to prove their US citizenship.

FYI I did ask them if it was possible to move the interview earlier, because I still hadn't booked travel in the hopes that even a few days earlier it would be possible. I got a kind reply from a rep explaining that in Canada they only "expedite" appointments for extreme health or humanitarian reasons. I guess even if our docs had gotten there sooner we still wouldn't have been moved to earlier dates. Ah well. So goes this process.

  15. does anybody know how many days after cc NVC send the papers to the foreign consulate>??

What is the most recent day of cc that got an interview date???

It varies. My case was complete Sept 10, the Consulate in Canada didn't have them ("ready " on ceac) until Oct 20. I have seen others move way faster than this though. Maybe you will be one of the lucky ones!

Check the spreadsheet link in the first post of this thread for the most recently scheduled interviews.

  16. Quick question! :huh2:

I just checked my account on https://usvisa-info.com. :star:

It shows my name, passport number, date of birth, visa class, reference number, and PD.

However, at "Appointment Information", it shows "You currently have no appointment scheduled".

Well, I have an interview date so I'm not sure why it doesn't show my interview date.

    Does anyone use https://usvisa-info.com?

Don't worry! When I read the fine print on that guide for how to reschedule an appointment in Montreal, it said that your current interview appointment will not appear on their site. I am not sure why. It is very discomforting. BUT, mine also says "You currently have no appointment scheduled". If you show up at the Consulate's door on your intervie date with letter in hand, I am sure there is no way you would let them turn you away ;)

    http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Supplemental/MTL%20-%20Montreal.pdf

It says "Please note: the rescheduling system does not have a record of your original NVC appointment"

P.S. Mine says ready as of today too!!!! Yippeee

  17. Now it shows "In Transit"! Goodbye NVC! :star:

But, I couldn't find any packages shipped to Montreal on the DHL site.

Maybe I'm not doing it correctly? Oh, well.

    Me too!

...And me too :( I honestly think I must not actually know how to do the DHL thing. The only time I got it to work was when I used someone else's example for dates etc. Anyone out there care to help us Canadians out and either tell us what we are doing wrong when we try to check or just go right ahead and try it to see if anything has been sent out for Montreal in the last day or two? Thank you in advance!

  18. I just realized that it could take up to 2 weeks to reach Montreal if Canada Customs held your package (but it usually takes 1 day via Express).

I noticed your interview is in 2 weeks from next Monday.

You may want to call NVC and talk to a supervisor to see if they can send your package to Montreal ASAP.

I'm not too concerned about mine since my interview is more than 3 weeks away.

I will be calling them today. Why do they have to make it so stressful and painful right up until the last possible step. I thought my days of calling the NVC were over!

I have not seen any waybills headed to Montreal lately, and I have not seen any Canadians post that their case is in transit. Just Mandiimoose who did e-filing. Getting an interview booked on Oct 3rd, for Nov 3rd, and getting the P4 letter 1 business day later, I really did not expect this. NVC never ceases to dissapoint me.

Oh wait, it took them only 56 days to process my last document I sent in July, instead of the alotted "60" they had advised. One small victory.
