There is no "will" be issued a warning. You MAY be asked about it and issued a warning. The problem with 6 months is more about continuous residence for n400. Anyway it's irrelevant for OP, whose question was about naturalizing versus just living with a green card in the US, not the broader advantages vs disadvantages.

It's from the date of the medicals, and unlike family etc visas there is no extension or renewal of s DV visa possible. You need to enter the US before it expires or it will be worthless. You can leave again after that for up to a year if you still need to sort things out etc but the visa has to be used before it expires.

Activate it at least if you really want to use it.

If I am correct I believe your visa expires the same time as your Medicals. So check the date of your Medicals if it's six months to the January date of the expiration date of your visa.

I think that job recruiters have no need for your SSN. To be on the safe side, I wouldn't provide that information. I work in HR and we do not need anyone's SSN until they have been officially offered the position. Once they have given you an offer, it is normal to give your SSN for a background check and I9 verification.

Certainly never to just solicit employment. AFTER accepting a legitimate offer and per their employment for benefits and such sure. Some people here have to fill out documents remotely when accepting jobs here...but I would still say that is not the norm...only those w/ corporate cultures based on remote workforce.

the point to prove is if usa is your domicile. if any questions directed to you at immigration check point will be to see if you have maintained enough connection to call usa your permanent residence. Travel of less than 6 months have been a problem as well depending on cases. more than 6 months to 1 year will be treated as a potential abandonment and you very well may risk loosing your greencard. although its already late now, but for next time, if you have to visit more than 6 months or even for travel less than 2 years, you need to apply for re-entry permit. First time i came to usa, i stayed here for 28 days, and returned after 15 months with a re-entry permit. So if anything, the plan that you talked about your husband returning early and you following later is the best option, and make sure your husband has firm reasons why he stayed outside for so long so soon of coming to usa. Despite some of the scare stories, longer than 6 months as long as it's not longer than a year is fine; you may well get questioned when you come back but it shouldn't be an issue. Proof of various things as you said above is helpful but not essential, especially if you're coming back in on a one-way ticket and can demonstrate commitment to residency that way. Source: our own experience!
Do bear in mind that being outside longer than 6 months does affect the countdown clock for naturalization though.

The interview is done where you live. Some winners have never lived in their country of birth. You don't have to prove "long time residency" like the poster above said either, just put your address on your form and choose your country and KCC will assign interview locations based on that.

If the CO asks, be honest - he will probably just remind you of the residency requirements to keep a green card.The answer above is incorrect re your husband returning "if the visa is not expired" as the visa is irrelevant then. It is only on first entry that the principal applicant needs to accompany derivatives (or land ahead of them), after that everyone is 'equal status' LPR so yes he can travel on his own.
