For the marriage license, was a SSN requested?

I really appreciate your answers. I know, from a personal perspective, I agree it's not very romantic, but we cannot ignore the chance of obtaining a working permission 2-3 months earlier. Unfortunately So we would have a court wedding right away and the real ceremony a little later to have if possible friends and families over.

I have a question, is there any recommendation on how long someone should wait before marrying after entering by a K1 Visa?

My idea is, to marry in court one day after entering the U.S. to quickly apply for working authorization. One reason is that the "official" wedding celebration would be much later due to organization and uncertainty of when the visa will be finally issued. But I don't know if this would look weird somehow.

Und ja, es gibt ein "touched" wenn man weiß wie man es findet (bei uns funktioniert zb das account anlegen auf USCIS nicht), und die TSC filers die von DEC schon ihre NOA 2 bekommen haben sind ganz bestimmt keine Westeuropäer deren USC Partner an der Ostküste leben. Da hat TabeaK absolut Recht ;-)

Die Timelines können insofern helfen, als dass man sieht, dass man nicht das einzige Paar ist, das noch wartet, sondern die mit gleichem Wohnort/Herkunftsland auch alle noch warten. Hält einen davon ab durchzudrehen :-D Mich zumindest! sich auf 7+ Monate einzustellen erfordert schon ganz was anderes, als sich zu denken, es kann jeden Tag so weit sein. Irgendwie müssen wir ja alle noch unser Leben weiterführen können ohne allen um uns herum auf die Nerven zu fallen.

Der Bruder von meinem fiance hat eine Japanerin geheiratet und die hatten visa-in-hand nach 6 Monaten. Darauf haben wir uns eingestellt - nichtsahnend, dass es einen großen Unterschied zwischen CSC (wo die waren) und TSC gibt (wo wir gelandet sind). Ah what the heck, our day will come, right?

Du hast offensichtlich absolut kein Verständnis davon, wie der Prozess funktioniert. Gut, genau dafür ist diese Resource hier vorhanden - die aber nur davon lebt, dass die User mitmachen.

Die dafür sorgen, dass der sehr intransparente Prozess etwas klarer wird und sich gegenseitig unterstützen.

Und, als kleine Info: Die Prozessbearbeitungdauer hängt im Moment ausschließlich vom Bearbeitungscenter ab - dieses wird aufgrund des Wohnortes des Antragstellers zugewiesen. Egal wie "sauber" ich ausgefüllt habe, muss ich wg. eines riesigen Backlogs im Moment mind. 7 Monate warten, da mein Partner an der Ostküste wohnt. Möglicherweise hattest du Glück und dein Partner wohnt in einem Staat, welches vom aktuell schnell arbeitenden (<30d) Servicecenter an der Westküste prozessiert wird. Glückwunsch.

Und die user-reported timelines sind die einzige Möglichkeit für die Betroffenen halbwegs verlässlich nachzuvollziehen wo der Prozess gerade steht.

Behalte aber deine "hab nur Geduld" Phrasen bitte für dich, die kommen nicht gut an, wenn du selber nicht warten musstest!

Übrigens, die typischen Fragen in Frankfurt beschränken sich auf Name, Beruf, evt. Alter des Partners, wo und wann man sich kennengelernt hat und was man in den USA beruflich machen möchte. Viel Erfolg beim Interview.

Ich meinte dir nur Mut zu machen. Leg nicht zu viel Fokus auf die Timelines, letztlich beschleunigen die nichts. Es gab übrigens auch Dezember Filer in Texas die NOA2 schon haben, also sei Positiv! Auch ich musste warten, denke mal nicht. Vll nicht so viel während des Prozesses, aber ich warte schon seit 4 Jahren darauf mit meiner Freundin endlich eine gemeinsame Zukunft zu haben, nur mal so nebenbei.

Übrigens gibt es m.M.n. keine Zwischeninfo. Auf einmal steht es einfach da. Es gibt kein touched oder so...wie auch immer. Ich wollte niemanden beleidigen. Ich hoffe, du wirst bald eine positive Antwort bekommen.

Keine Ahnung, ich mag das eigentlich nicht. Kann dir auch sagen, dass es niemanden hilft, weil es einfach von Person zu Person total unterschiedlich ist. Ich hab gesehen das manche schon nach 10 Tagen NOA2 hatten, und manche eben erst nach 8 Monaten. Weiss, nicht wie das da helfen soll!?!? Einfach Geduld, wenn du alles sauber ausgefüllt hast, wirst du auch schnell eine Antwort bekommen, oder wenn du vorher schon ein Visa hattest

Hi, du wartest einfach bist du Post vom Konsulat in Deutschland bekommst (bei mir hats zwei oder drei Wochen oder so gedauert nach NOA2. Du wirst einen Brief erhalten und gebeten entsprechende Unterlagen einzureichen (Kannst die Checkliste aber bereits auf der Embassy Deutschland Webseite herunterladen). Nachdem du die Unterlagen eingereicht hast, bekommst du eine Email mit der Bitte einen Termin zu buchen. Das dauert ein paar Tage und dann hast du auch dein Interview schon recht schnell.

ich beende mein Studium in den nächsten Tagen und hoffe, mein Interview will ebenfalls in den nächsten 2, 3 Wochen stattfinden. Da ich für eine sehr kurze Zeit entsprechend "arbeitslos" sein würde, will ich natürlich die Gelegenheit nutzen und noch ALG II beantragen, da es sich recht wenig lohnt für die paar Wochen einen Job zu suchen (was man mitnehmen kann, nimmt man, nicht?)

Könnte sowas meine Bewerbung beeinflussen? Wenn ich mich offiziell arbeitslos melden würde?

Also genau kann ich dir Dad auch nicht mehr sagen aber ich würde meinen ich habe nicht länger als 2 Wochen gewartet. Nachdem sie deine Unterlagen gesichtet haben und alles gut ist kannst du online für den Termin Anfragen und du musst dann warten bis die es dir freischalten. Da wirst du aber per E-Mail benachrichtigt. Ich denke dass sie diese langen Wartezeiten einfach nur schreiben dass sie nicht nach ner Woche oder zwei mit Nachrichten bombardiert werden...

Offiziell heisst es 4 bis 8 Wochen, das erscheint mir schon ein bisschen lang.

Mir ist bewusst, dass es bei jedem unterschiedlich sein kann, aber ich mich würde wahnsinnig interessieren, was eure Erfahrung ist!!!!

I hope you guys will be helpful to me for another time. So on travel.state.gov I read a Police Certificate is needed for anywhere I resided for 6 months plus...however, on the K1 instructions for Frankfurt Consulate they specify, police certificates are needed for previous residence if residence there was more than one year.

What should I believe. I spent 8 months once in Argentina for study. If I would need a police certificate from there this would mess up my whole application. I was always referring to the information provided by the German embassy. Otherwise I'd have gotten one, but now I actually planned to schedule my interview.

If anybody knows more about this, or has similar experience I super appreciate if he/she'd share with me.

on the DS-160 they ask for an Application Receipt/Petition Number. It says 3 letters and 13 characters in total. My question, do they refer to the Receipt Number from the Petition? Because I also have a Case Number which has the same formatting from NVC. Which one do they want to have?

I was more curious why they still do it, since the law states opposite and it is a delicate matter, for some reason, that even here in Germany, your doctor might not know about and results are treated anonymously.

I noticed that they will check on HIV, however, since it has been removed from the list of communicable diseases since 2010, and it states it will no longer be required. Why do people still have to do it? Anybody knows about it?

2) Is it really necessary for the biographic page of my passport to be translated as well? The confirmation page of the DS-160 is also in German. I don't really see the point in them wanting a translation of their own documents, but then again, a lot of this doesn't exactly make sense. So do they?

It is not necessary to translate any document that is either in German or English. So no translation needed. Only court entries have to be translated into English. So normally there should be no need for any translation.

As for the tax statement, in previous Checklists they did not require a tax statement if not self-employed. However, in the new Checklist they require that, can somebody confirm this is needed if letters and pay stubs proof everything is legit?

I have a question regarding misleading information. On the instructions for i134 they mention as evidence a letter from bank, a letter from employer and two pay stubs, but as long as you are not self-employed a copy of last income tax filed is not necessary.

However, on the information from the embassy it says you have to provide a tax statement.

My petitioner just got a job, with a salary of way beyond the 125% threshold/poverty line. However, she just started her employment and hence did not file any income tax yet, there would just be a 0.

Is anybody familiar with this situation? If helpful, the interview will take place in Frankfurt/Germany.

I already posted my topic in the European subforum. However, I haven't received an answer, and wonder if may ask here. I did civil service instead of military service. So for the interview they request military records, that's what is says in the checklist for the interview in Frankfurt/Germany. Does it also refer to community service records as an alternative to military service, or any certificate that I chose to serve in the civil sector instead? I have to say that either military service or community service were mandatory after Highschool.

Also, for any information they request original + copy. Does the copy has to be notarized or something? Or just a plain copy?
