I had my interview on July 2, 2019 at the Atlanta office. Below is my experience:

I arrived early and was told to wait until 30 minutes before my interview time to check in.

I went back to the desk at the right time and was checked in using my appointment letter. I was given a tag with a number on it and told to wait for my number to be called at one of the booths. The agent at the booth requested for my Green Card and appointment letter and asked if I had recent changes I want to add to my application. I told him we had a baby boy 5 weeks ago and I traveled outside the USA last November for two weeks. He wrote those details on a form and asked me to hand it over to the agent that will conduct my interview.

I was told to sit and wait to be called. Ten minutes later, another agent on the same floor called me and conducted the US Citizenship test. He asked the following questions:

#. When was the constitution written

#. What major event happened on 9/11

#. What are the first ten amendments of the constitution called

#. Who is in charge of the executive branch

#. What are two rights in the constitution

#. What did the Declaration of Independence do?

#. Why does the flag have 13 stripes

 

He then proceeded to ask me to read a question on a tablet. The question was:

#. Which state has the most people?

I said California and he told me to write my response on the tablet using a stylus or my finger. “California is the state with the most people”.

Next the agent told me to go to the second floor and sit in the waiting area to be called by the agent that will complete the interview session.

 

Moved to the second floor and I was called about 30 minutes later by the next agent. We go in to his office and he starts to review my file, which is on his desk with lots of papers. I pass him the form I received downstairs and told him I have two changes to report. Birth of my son and travel outside the USA for two weeks. He types the info in to his computer and asks for copies of the birth certificates of my two year old daughter and my 5 week old son, which he scans in to his computer. He also asks for our joint 2018 tax returns, which he scanned as well.

Next, he proceeded to ask the yes/no questions that I completed in the N400 application form when I applied last September. Once done, he said he was good with my application and will approve it. At that point, he noticed that the system had two entries for me. One with my First and Last name and another with my First, Middle and Last Name. He said the records need to be consolidated to prevent the system rejecting his approval. He said this is fairly common and he sees this regularly, pointing to a pile of files on a desk to his left with applicants with the same situation. While I was there, he went ahead and submitted the request to consolidate the records in to a single one that has my First, Middle and Last Names. He indicated it will take about two weeks to complete this process. Once done, I will get a notice and letter to attend the Oath Ceremony.

 

I finally received the notice on July 22, 2019 to attend the oath ceremony on August 5, 2019.

I attended the oath ceremony on August 5, 2019 and finally became a US Citizen. Yay!

 It was a great event and everything took a little over 2 hours (8am to 10:10am)

 

While I celebrate the successful end to my citizenship immigration journey, I will like to thank everyone that contributes to this awesome forum and community. I appreciate all you do.

 

I do hope someone interviewing in the Atlanta office soon finds this post useful.

Yes. Thanks for asking. Just about an hour ago, I got an update on the old web site, egov.uscis.gov, that his card is being produced. I do not know why, but it seems everyone gets this update first and then the update notification that the case has been approved. So barring any mistakes by USCIS, I expect that we will get the approved update probably tomorrow. So I expect that the approval date will be today, 26 Jul 2019,  13 months and 11 days from the NOA1 date.

Congratulations.  It's an amazing journey for all of us.  Supporting each other is part of the journey while new friends are made.

I noticed you entry into the US was almost 4 months after us.  I'm sure you will have the ROC very soon.  I'm not sure how we received the ROC faster than expected, but our process started in 2013 and it took forever to get the visa because of some complications.  Keep us informed.  We need to support each other.  Once completely done, its quite a relief to have the citizenship and US Passport in hand.

Our journey is finally done.  Guess in many respects, all of us in this discussion were pioneers pursuing new law that was never available for other couples before us.  Hopefully, people in our situation will be able to review this thread and sustain the courage needed to follow their life dreams.  Hope all of you are doing well in your lives.  Since there hasn't been much activity on this forum, I imagine everyone has completed their journeys. Congratulations to everyone having completed the interview test, and then the ceremony.  As far as those timelines, they were never accurate with us.  In fact, we were notified in February, and took the test in March, and the website said we weren't due until December 2019.  At this point, our cohort group has been called, or being called; many of you will hear very soon I am sure.  In regard to the ceremony, the extra documents specified are not needed unless your case didn't follow the normal protocols.  For us, only the form sent to us, drivers license, and green card was necessary.  Make sure you do not answer the questions on the back of that form until the day of your ceremony.  Also, if you are planning to travel soon, you can expedite your passport in two ways, with extra costs associated with both.  First is the expedited processing, and then the second fee is for priority mailing back.  It took 10 business days.  Keep confident!

Actually, we thought it was Pittsburgh.  But the letter just arrived and its in Philadelphia.

Received notice today, February 4, 2019, that our interview is scheduled; but haven't received the letter yet regarding the date.  Seems like there is movement happening for September 2018 filers.

since we started this thread here but no one seems to care to update their personal info they can help the rest of us waiting.

The other day I was a “bully” for asking someone to update their timeline or spend a little time and put the info on this spreadsheet.

Ur idea is great but no one here cares enough.

We have put all of our updates  in, but if everyone did that, others could get a feel for where they stand in relation to this information.

@Tcarrol I hope you have a short wait for the final step. We are in S Florida and it took us about 11 months for my husband's naturalization (Nov. 2016 to Oct. 2017). Hopefully things are a little quicker for everyone nowadays.

Thank you for your support.  At this point, we feel fortunate to have received ROC in seven months.  No one else in our cohort has received approval yet so we feel the worse is over; being able to prove we have a real marriage.  It hasn't been easy on any of us within this group.  Supporting each other has made it easier.  

Had our biometrics yesterday. Today our status shows processing date 14 months, December 2019. So now we just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Does anyone know if "name change" errors can be corrected during biometrics appointment?  My spouse's name was changed during marriage, drivers license, and social security.  Then during the ROC process the name changed back to the original name before marriage.  Then our green card was recalled due to date error last May and our attorney requested the name correction be made.  We also included a letter when we returned the 10 year green card.  The new green card arrived this week and the name is still incorrect.  

We now have our new 10 year corrected green card in hand.  Out attorney submitted our N-400 this week.  It appears others have waited 5 months for this process to play out.  Doesn't seem to be a very long wait in the scheme of things since we started this entire process in August 2013.

We were approved last April, then had to return the green card because of date errors, and received a corrected green card this week.  Today our attorney submitted our N-400 application to the Phoenix lock box.  We continue to follow all of you until all of you have received approval.  Wishing all of you our best.

We just got notification that our card has been produced and mailed after returning the card with the errors.  Although we have used Senator Casey on two previous occasions during this process, we didn't this time.  I believe using a US Senator is the best way to go, and one you do, your case gets tagged differently.  We're still the only ones receiving ROC approval in 7 months in our cohort.

Hello, we were approved, but the green card was recalled in May because of errors.  We were told a corrected new one would be returned within three weeks of receiving the card.  It's been seven weeks now.  Never did believe the three weeks!

If your mailing address changes, update your address with us.

Lets hope this means a new card is being printed.

Hello.  We wrote an email to the address on the recall letter and received an immediate response, saying they could not give specific information to us through email:

"Thank you for your inquiry dated June 21, 2018 about your Legal Permanent Resident card. For your security, we cannot provide case status from this mailbox. Please know that your card will be reissued with the same receipt number of your original card. When your card is remailed to you, new tracking information will appear in the case status online tool. You may track the status of your replacement card, please use the case status online tool: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do. With the updated tracking information, you will be able to track and confirm your card’s delivery at www.usps.com."

Our attorney made an inquiry and was able to get confirmation that they received our returned green card, so that made us feel a little better.  Our attorney also said that USCIS said we should wait until after July 5 before making another inquiry so maybe that means all of us will be receiving new green cards by that date.
