Let's pretend Israel gives back territory and agrees to the creation of a viable state. Am I to believe or anybody in there right mind that it ends there. You are being a little naive here or maybe playing devils advocate. Regardless Hamas and other countries in the middle east want much much more. They want Israel gone. Until that happens there will always be turmoil.

It was the first day back at school for teachers.
Her co-workers found some shorts for her to wear before she was hauled off to jail.
The school district would not comment, but we learned Hill was just hired this year.

What you're saying is true. However, its more like a chess game right? The move to shut the government down was a strategic decision made by house republicans. That's it. I don't care about why they chose that move or what lead to it or anything. The truth is, that's the move Ted and his buds made and as a result the monuments were closed. In hindsight, I think what OnMyWayID said was probably more accurate. One can be moderate on some issues and not on others. You certainly are moderate on some issues. Certainly not when it comes to Obama or presidential candidates though.

Exactly.. My son had a kids astronomy book when he was little and between Jupiter and Saturn I drew in a weird creature and told him it was a space noogie.. Years later (he was 10 or 11) he found the book and was flipping through the pages and on that double page he was going the planets: "Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, asteroid belt, Juptier, space noogie, sat... Hey! thats not real!" all those years it never occurred to him, he just took in the information and went along his life not realizing how obviously fake it was. Religion works along those lines but on serious steroids.

Israel is as guilty as anyone for the way things are.. I would look at it more as a series of spirals over an extended period of time that led to the current situation and both sides have squandered opportunities along the way.
Israel has the power but what can they really do? They do not trust the Palestinians and I think have given up ever having peace so they just have done what they can to minimize the damage that can be done to them.. .
I play the mental game in my head of being in charge of each group how would I proceed.. If I was in charge of Israel and decided to remove the wall and allow more integration would it just start the violence again or would be seen as a stepping stone to more trust? If I was in charge of Hamas I could stop the current violence but the compromises needed to create a lasting peace would never be acceptable to most.. I am at a loss as to how this can end with both sides in tact..

I came from the formerly Russian controlled part of Germany. Same as Russia, East Germany did not do rehabilitation. They both did what the US is still doing: making sure that nobody that ever ran afoul of the law would have a chance to pay a price and then lead a productive life. So what are the specific demographics of the native born vs. the immigrants in Tennessee? Might it be that the native born population - as would be the case nationwide - is more heavily tilted towards the 55-65 crowd now than it was 14 years ago? Might it be that the immigrant population is younger as is the case nationwide? Were that the case - and I have a gut feeling that it is - then that alone would explain the phenomenon that the xenophobes at CIS speak about.
