Just wanted to come to update on the interview.

Husband had his interview on Monday afternoon in Phoenix, AZ.  Everything was quick and officer only asked for green card and returned it back so that he takes it to the oath ceremony. We are still waiting for letter in the mail and to see the copy in the documents tab online. Husband said they went through the application and was done after  the 6 questions were answered correctly.  He also had the reading and writing exam. All the same format as most interviews go. Phoenix does have same day oath ceremony depending on the time in interview. He didn’t make it for the last one of the day which was around 2. But if you have a morning and pass the exam, there’s a chance you will have same day oath.  He updated his address there with the officer since we sold our house and bought another. He said she was very nice.

Questions asked (this is a brief summary since he doesn’t remember too well as it went by fast):

If president and Vice President cannot serve, who? Stars meaning on the flag? First three words of constitution? Ocean on west coast? North and south war called? Commander in chief?
    Other questions:
    -Are any parents citizens ?
-Asked about any trips in the last 180 days. There are none.

Reading: The flag is white (not sure on exact statement read.)
Writing: The White House is in Washington DC.

We did receive our biometric reuse notice dated 12/10. The estimated completion date still showed Oct 2021 up until today. Hopefully that means you will hear soon about the biometrics. 🤞

Thank you! I imagined that would be the case. I’m thankful the Mexican consulate is 20 mins away from us here in Phoenix! We will have to go very soon.

Hey. If I were in your position, I will renew my passport before getting the I551 stamp so I will have a valid passport to use.

When you schedule the Consulate interview you also schedule the CAS appointment, the only thing you don't schedule is the medical, but when you are in Juarez you go to the medical really early, like two days before your interview, just to be on the safe side.... but they do give your results back that same afternoon....

By status change I meant "At NVC" to something else. I've read of different types like "At Embassy," "In Transit," etc. And thanks for your fantastic post Newbie.

Status change isn't for CR1 catagory visas....u can only find by calling to NVC or receiving a mail from NVC that ur interview is scheduled or not......after ur interview is scheduled then nvc sends all ur documents to ur country embassy...it can take 1 to 15 days....and the status changes from "At NVC" to "In Transit" if u have question feel free to ask

Hi VJ Family!!! Just found out my case at NVC was completed today!!!!! ONLY 10 DAYS FROM SCAN DATE! Tip for everyone: organize packet the cleanest and a simplest way possible. I could never believe when officer said that! Now we are waiting for interview.
Also I waited for both fees to be paid before sending out the 2 packets together.

VOL, i think that statement of " he had a choice...." meant that her dad could have lived off the radar and not paid anything to the feds....
Because Uncle Sam has no record of he been here anyway... that is a good man.

Actually it's not, my father had to pay lots of money, probably a lot more than the usual taxpayer. He had the choice whether or not to pay taxes. He paid taxes for Fed, SS, State Taxes. He was paying taxes like any other taxpayer but receiving no benefits like some americans take advantage of, instead he paid for the people on welfare when they could also be working and paying taxes.
