Hi All - so, we had our interview today.  I know a few folks from Chicago asked for more details, so here it is!

After going through security, we went upstairs to level 2.  My husband took our daughter to sit and wait while I checked us in.  Our appointment was scheduled for 11am and we arrive to check in at about 10.15.  Once checked in, we took a seat at the far end of the hall, near Door 1.  We got called in at around 11.15.

The immigration officer was pleasant.  After swearing us in, and asking for our ID, he took my photo and finger scans.  He then got out his big file (and I also had my copy of everything we've submitted).  He asked me to confirm my details (name, dob, place of birth, address), and asked my husband the same - at this point he was just going through our paperwork and putting tick marks next to each section he confirmed.  He asked about where I was working, where we got married, how we met.  He asked for our daughter's birth certificate.  When I said it was in the pack we'd sent, and that I had another copy with me, he said he didn't need it, and he found it in his paperwork.  He seemed like he hadn't looking through our pack at all (although this might just be how they present - who knows?!).  He then asked if we had any evidence we'd like to submit.  I offered to pull from the whole pack, or asked if he just wanted new things from after we filed. He asked for that, so I gave him our:
Mortgage paperwork (we bought a condo in March) and our most recent mortgage statement 2017 jointly-filed tax return Current homeowners insurance Current policy for my engagement ring Current car insurance Quarterly bank statements for our savings account Last 3 months bank statements for checking account Last 2 months credit card statements He didn't look at anything we gave him, just marked it down and put it in the file.

I also said I had photos and asked if he wanted to see them.  He said yes.  I brought our who wedding set, and I pulled some from that until he said he had enough wedding ones.  I then gave him some of our us with our daughter (from the one of the three of us as we left hospital onwards).  Again, after I'd pulled 5 or 10 he said he had enough of them (I made sure to include some recent one and some with us and her and our parents).  Lastly I offered him some random photos of me and my husband over the last few years and he took a few.  I then also gave him some of the thank-you cards/ anniversary cards/ invitations to things that we've been sent from friends and family. He looked at quite a few and took a couple.

He then asked if we had any other questions - I asked if he felt that he had enough from us, or if there was anything key he was missing.  He said he felt like he had a good amount.  He then gave us a receipt saying that the case was still under review, and he said that this was normal.  He said that if we don't hear anything in 90 days, then I should get back in contact, but he felt that we should hear much sooner than that.  I also asked if he knew why we'd been brought in for interview - was it a standard 10% audit, or where there any red flags on our case?  He said that he didn't know - he's just told who to interview. He then showed us out.

My case status online still shows 'moved to a local office' from back in Feb, but I'm hoping it will get updated to show that I had the interview and (fingers crossed), that I'll be approved soon!

I’m in and out the country several times a week because I’m a flight attendant and trust me, some of the CBP officers have no idea what they suppose to do.

Great for you all getting extension letters. I managed to get a stamp on mine.

However, it's also kinda depressing that we are celebrating our SECOND extension letter when really this should all be done and dusted ages ago!

My wife arrive back from the Philippines late Saturday Night.  When the flight from Manila landed at Vancouver BC< Canada's airport she got off the plane to go to the US Immigration Facility to clear immigration before the flight to New York.  She was asked to physically present her green card and extension letter.  TSA / Immigration were polite and professional but asked if he she new the extension letter expires Oct 24, 2018.  Wifey told them she knew it did and she was cleared to enter the USA and re boarded the Philippine Airline's flight to John F Kennedy Airport in New York City.

After landing every passenger came off the plane I am standing there waiting and waiting when I get a text message that Philippine Airlines lost her suit case.  She them came out tired and exhausted but other wise she was well.

Now I am waiting for a green card and a suit case

I think you will receive much more valuable information if you use the correct forum...maybe others who want ROC information don't want to read your N-400 posts........that's why the N-400 forum was created in the first place.

I agree with @Roel. ROC and Naturalization are completely different actions and areas for discussion. Why sift through all the ROC discussion when you can easily find posters discussing N-400s in the proper forum?  I think the Mods prefer us to use the proper forum for discussions.....

    Hi all,

Perhaps the worst possible thing has happened to my process. Like you, I applied in July and have been in the system for 12 months. CSC filer here.

Last weekend my spouse advised she has filed for a divorce over irreconcilable differences. There is a 14 months child involved too (born in the US).

I'm at a total loss now. The divorce decree in California takes a minimum of 6 months, yet if I advise USCIS of my case they require the decree within 90 days. I can prove everything was a bonafide marriage, but with the family attorney fees costing me and arm and a leg, I really can'y afford an immigration attorney.

I've updated my address and I assume I need to file a form to change to a divorce waiver, but with it being so late in the process I fear there is a real chance I'll be rejected and therefore deported?

Any advice/steps on what action I should take here. Many thanks to you all.

Just reading your experience gets my blood boiling. I cannot imagine the frustration you felt having to make two separate trips to a USCIS office, follow the instructions of one officer, then be denied after following said instructions.

Do some of these folks not understand how hard it is to even get an appointment at some offices in the first place? Moreover, why such inconsistency between some offices offering I-551 stamps > 3 months out, at the 3 month mark, and in this case, up to less than a month until expiration. This lack of consistency and continuity is appalling among USCIS offices and staff members.

I think we can all agree that we have no problems following established rules, but when those rules seem to change at the whim of a staff member at a USCIS office, it becomes beyond frustrating.

Just an update on the new notification system at the USCIS dhs website (the one where you sign up for an account). After you get the notification that your card is being produced, it changes to this notification and they send the card USPS Priority Mail; it only took 4 days from approval to getting the card:
    July 12, 2018
We mailed your card to you. The U.S. Postal Service will deliver it.
You do not need to do anything at this time
The post office will deliver your card to your current mailing address. If your mailing address changes, update your address with us.
If you do not receive your card by August 11, 2018, send us a case inquiry and select that you did not receive your card by mail.

    Hi All.

Just finished browsing a bit.  It appears from lurking in other months prior to us July filers, that CSC filers have received notices that their cases have been transferred to NBC 'to speed up processing'.  These are non-N400 filers.  There were also a few in January 2017 that received I-751 approvals, also at CSC....3 if I recall correctly.  And somewhere I read, sorry can't remember where, that someone got their 18 month extension to extension letter.....however, it wasn't clear to me by their dates and lack of profile of when they originally filed their I-751.  I have noted on occasion posters accidentally post to July 2017 thinking its July 2018.

Movement at CSC is a good thing!!!

Just to keep people in this thread posted - I somehow was able to get an InfoPass appointment at my local office for the I-551 stamp. I know that supposedly we are getting new 18 month extension letters, but there a few too many moving parts for my liking that rest on my expiration date.

This will be within the 90 day expiration window, so fingers crossed they will grant me the stamp. I will definitely report back on my experience.

I am completely there with you on everything you said. My plan was not to file for it either, or at the very least wait and see how I feel, but given how poor things have gotten with USCIS processing times, I figured this might be a nudge in the right direction. Things are getting a bit, silly, shall we say? After all the time and money put into this process, it would almost feel like a waste to return to Canada one day and not have anything to show for it.

Wow, thank you for the detailed filing experience! I am definitely going to keep all of this in mind when I file online. I have to say, after the mounds of papers, from the K1 visa envelope that felt like a book to the recent ROC package I sent in, filing online is going to seem like a joy. I will certainly welcome an easier experience, that is for sure.

That said, I am just baffled at what is going on exactly with our cases as it now appears 2 people in our filing cohort have received approvals, yet the official processing times read as October of 2016? I am so very confused on how this seemingly random process works. As I told other posters in our "Waiting for our passports from Montreal" thread years ago, my theory on how they pick whom to process is this: They ascend the processing building to the roof or highest windowed floor possible; with a random stack of applications in hand, throw them indiscriminately into the wind to fall below; whichever lands closest to the center of the pre-drawn target below (highly assume this is the case, I mean, who wants to be drawing a new target each day?!) wins the approval to the next step. As you can tell, this is highly scientific and a theory I have given much thought to Kidding!

Best of luck to you and anyone else filing their N-400!
