Found the new thread!
I’m stressing because I still don’t have my naturalization certificate back after getting my first US passport. It’s been 3 weeks, though the passport site says it can take up to 4. Thank goodness I scanned it before going to get my passport so at least I have a record of it. I’m a little worried.
There’s a passport number but that didn’t help. Once it’s officially “4 weeks” from when I got my passport in the mail… 🤷🏼♀️
Ugh. And I found The form to request a replacement naturalization certificate with USCIS. $555
That would hurt. Trying not to worry until March.

A possible, if you did a name change on the N400, timing warning on the "enhanced drivers license" while you wait on passport. WA State DOL, does a SSN name match on all drivers license changes/updates. So if you changed your name, you must update your SSN card first, before updating/changing your Driver's License. The local DOL customer reps you show your Certificate of Naturalization to do not always follow their own procedures and allowed my wife to change her driver's license without showing an updated SSN card (per their website you are suppose to show your ssn card). They run the SSN number / SSN name / Driver Lic name match sometime after you leave.
This resulted in my wife getting a certified letter (two weeks later) in the mail that her driver's license was going to be canceled in 3 weeks because her drivers license name did not match her SSN name. The only way, right now, to update SSN is through mail and it requires the Certificate of Naturalization. They, DOL, would no allow the drivers license in her previous name to stand - getting the SSN updated was the only way forward.
The warning only applies if you changed your name at Naturalization.
Thanks! I changed my name before I first applied for my GC so I’m good. I spoke with SSN they will only do it by mail so I’ll wait until I have my certificate back from my passport. The office I spoke with heard my situation and I don’t have to hurry on the SSN updates.

Well my interview is done and I now have my 🇺🇸 Citizenship. The officer was friendly and nice - she suggested trying to get an enhanced drivers license to allow me to cross the border by car while I await my US passport, and while waiting we chit chatted about sewing.
Otherwise the parking is currently doing cards as well as cash, and they don’t necessarily call the numbers in order (that made me nervous), and it was otherwise less stressful than other stages. I did laugh at my 6” thick stack of papers in my file.
It’s nice that this journey is over, though now to deal with getting a passport and an updated social security card. -

I had the same thing!
I let the jury office know I wasn't a citizen yet so couldn't participate (I had no real way of knowing if the interview process would be problem-free).Within two weeks of my successful interview I got a new notice. That new summons, frustratingly, conflicts with an upcoming vacation, so it's now rescheduled for early next year.
Yeah I called and left the jury coordinator a voicemail and she said the qualification is date if service not summons so she said to reschedule online to the spring and then if I’m not a citizen at that time to just call and let them know by 7 days prior.
which is good because my service date currently is 2 days before my birthday and during my Christmas vacation. 😣

The amusing irony. I just got home from work and waiting for me 12hrs after my file was updated and interview scheduled I got home… to a summons for Jury Duty.
🤦🏼♀️
Technically as of NOW I’m not eligible but my date is after my interview. When I I’ll be if successful.

I got interview schedule notification today. I filed my application on July, 30, 2020. Hope every one get their interview scheduled soon.

I'm Aug 2nd, right after you!
My ETA on USCIS still says 7 months though, lol.
Mine too. Mine said 2months then I updated my documents as they were no longer current (5 years of taxes). And it switched. 🙇🏼♀️ If I don’t have a date by the end of November I’m going to call in, since that was the ETA when I submitted everything.

Thinking I'll have to go to my congress rep and file a complaint about the Seattle office. They may or may not do something but it doesn't hurt. It's really frustrating!!
That’s not a bad idea. This slow is nuts. Pandemic or not.

It changed from 7 months to 3 days. Based on previous responses in this post, I do not pay attention to the estimated completion time. I've learnt that it is unreliable and inaccurate.
July 2020 filer. I added my 2020 tax transcript end of August - as it wasn’t available when I submitted last year.
it switched my completion date from 2 months to 9 then 8.
no change to my account.

tons of people went through this whole process fairly quickly while I waited and waited. I may well be the last AUG2020 filer still dealing with this 😆
Had my interview and it went really well. The IO was quite pleasant. Passed my civics and English tests first, then the interview. At the end of the interview, the IO gave me a white sheet saying "congratulations your case has been recommended for approval" (or something along those lines). She said it could take about 3 weeks to be scheduled for a ceremony and to be on the lookout for a letter in the mail. By the time I got home, my oath ceremony had already been scheduled and uploaded to my account. I am scheduled for mid September.
I know I am not 100% done yet but this was a major relief. Finally I will be able to complete my journey in couple of weeks. The only drawback was that I couldn't change my name. The IO officer told me that my field office is not accepting name changes with N400 because their court was closed. So I had to change my name change answer to "NO" during my interview.
Nope. I’m technically july 31, 2020 - a few hrs before August. I’m still waiting *and* I loaded my 2020 tax transcript (wasn’t yet available when I originally filed) and my completion time on the website went from 2mos to 8mos. 🤦🏼♀️🙇🏼♀️

I'm sorry that happened. I've seen others time fluctuate as well. I hope it at least goes back to 3 months, worst case. Still have my fingers crossed for you🤞🏽
Thanks. I hope so. I plan to contact them in November if there’s nothing - my original timing estimate was Oct 2021 when I filed.

Well dang. This morning my account was still listed as “3 months” as it has been since January, but I re-checked and it’s now at “9 months” after loading my tax transcript today. 🙇🏼♀️

Good luck!! your N400 is due anyway according to the google sheet, so if u get a notice we won't know if it is because of the trigger or its just regular course of action from USCIS 🙂 but no harm in trying everything within our limits.
I mean the Google sheet is a fun idea and it’s nice to see easily where people are in their process, but it’s a small sample size based on the number of applicants at the Seattle office so we can’t accurately extrapolate with any confidence.
So I figured it’s worth trying since I have a relevant document that I wasn’t able to submit initially, and since I’ve had 8 months of “3 months” until a decision.
Unfortunately it changed my time today to “9 months” from “3 months” this morning on USCIS. So it may not be good, we will see.My original estimated time on USCIS when I applied was Oct 2021 so if I get past Oct with no action I’ll phone.

Hi, I uploaded my 1040x (adjustment of my 2019 taxes).
I just decided to load my 2020 tax transcript. We shall see if anything happens. 🤷🏼♀️

Ok, in another thread people were talking about loading a document to help trigger processing.
I initially loaded 5 years of tax information when I sent my paperwork in, but it’s been so long my most recent transcript wasn’t on the site. So I loaded my 2020 tax transcript. We will see if it impacts my application.

Can someone explain this .. For Seattle , how has the N400 backlog grown from 22886 to 23167 when the (Approved+ Denied) > Received ? The same seems to be the case for Spokane and Yakima as well.
Data Source : USCIS N400 Performance metrics as of August 2017.The backlog (23167) includes the right set of columns which is the military applications. 22886 doesn’t include military.
the math isn’t accurate for seattle and I don’t know about that piece but that seems to be what’s going on in general.
-
Arg!! I was on USCIS earlier today and it showed “2 months”. That’s the shortest it’s been!
I re-logged in just now ready to grab a screenshot to share and it’s back to 3months. 🤦🏼♀️
I saw in another thread that loading additional documents has worked for some to trigger an action on the file.
Has anyone tried this?
It’s been long enough that my 5 years of tax history is out of date. I could update that…

I submitted my application on 8/2/2020, around the same time as you. My estimate has been moving back and forth in 5 months, then 3 months and now it says 9 months. I don't know what's worse, being stuck in 3 months or being thrown around in various months
Right? Mine did that earlier this year but has been stuck at 3mo recently. Ugh.
