Hi Guys,
I just got my green card in the mail and guess what ? My country of birth is... USA
Anyway, I am travelling tomorrow outside of the country, I can't make an InfoPass for a stamp because NY office is crowded and the next available date in second week of november. Maybe i should try a walkin, but the police in front of the huge building in new york won't let me without appointment letter.
Will I have any problem going back in the country at the airport? Should i bring birth certificate ? I mean... how can i be born in the USA that's obviously a mistake from their hand. I checked all my paperworks
-
My officer told me it can take up to 7 days to be approved/receive the card in the mail. She also told me to make an infopass right when I get home (because infopass are crowded and takes time to get an appointment) just in case I have not receive it so they can stamp my passport
-
I knew it! Congratulations!
Thanks Guys!
Now your turn next!

Well, I just got an email saying my card was in production, so it's a Go i guess !!

Interview at Federal Plaza NYC this morning at 8.30am
The interviewer was a very nice lady, latin background. She really made us feel comfortable and was very sweet, but very professional too. She asked us basics questions as date of birth, how did we meet, where and when, if we know each others family.
She told me my case is 99,9% approved, she just needs to go through it again and I will know by today or tomorrow and will receive my green card by mail.
However, she did not tell me about the temporary 2 years green card at all... is that normal ?

I have my interview in two days, I will let you know how it went !!

It has been quiet yes ! Just reading the thread and waiting for interview ... I am really in between street and no stress, it is a weird feeling haha

Congrats to FlyingFish and kettlefish! And to CdnRn for making it back into the country.
Btw, we just got back from 2 weeks of vac using our AP. It was a little confusing, but not bad at all. Only a 15 minute wait. I posted the full experience here in case anyone else is worried about using it:

Interview on Friday! Time to start printing photos...
Thanks for the experience !
Can't wait for your interview! You will let me know how it goes!!
Mine is in 15 days from now

Got my interview date for October 15th
-
Still nothing for me... Waiting on the interview date
-
Hi guys,
still waiting on my interview date. It is very tiring the wait
-
Hi all, sorry to have been so out of the loop but things have been busy at my end, but I wanted to let you know we got our interview date email for October 3rd!
Don't give up hope! I think things will start moving now that summer is winding down. Congrats to everyone on their GCs, EADs and interviews!
Lucky you!! I am still waiting on it!
-
Advance parole was approved almost at the same time as aed.
Now waiting again for interview date
-
Mine also todayPhew! EAD card in production! I was getting really worried when I saw people with numbers 700 higher than ours in production.
Yay progress!
-
Which is even scarier in a way, because no one has been reporting getting interviews in NYC. The last person who posted getting an interview date was over a month ago. I am sure NYC is a busy office, but if no one is getting interviews, imagine how backed up they must be with people ahead of us...
I'm not really worried about getting approved; I think we're pretty well-prepared, but I just want it to happen already!!!!! I was so optimistic we'd be done in 3 months like the folks who applied in February and March. Not even having an interview date at this point is discouraging.
Anyway. Whining over. Thanks for the encouragement. I will hopefully be more positive (or at least less negative) tomorrow.
I understand. But also it is summer and between the crowded office and the employee's holiday... one thing and another... I was thinking it would be faster also, but hey, we got to testing and interview pretty fast too!!
Let's just wait, that's the only way

CdnRN - I don't think you're technically challenged in this case. It looks like the text editor that pops up in iOS is different than what shows up on a desktop computer. I have a Mac, a PC and an iPhone and on the iPhone (using the full version of the site), none of the options to change text show up, but on my computers, there's a whole bunch of formatting buttons similar to what you'd see in MS Word, plus a smiley face button for emoticons, although when I type a colon and parentheses, they automatically convert to an emoticon.
Speaking of
, today makes six weeks since we've been in Testing & Interview. Normally, I'm a bit more pragmatic, but with no updates at all in six weeks and whole lot of other madness going on in life, I'm getting a bit
.
Melibelle, don't be sad ! You and I we have the same local office.. and I've been on testing and interview since June 30th ... similar to you.
That doesn't mean anything bad
just our local office is crowded

Call the USCIS and tell them you would like to expedite your EAD and you have the supporting documentation that explains the reason why. They usually help you with it.
-
That's great news for everyone.
RN-sun don't worry... it takes time sometimes. complete your signature timeline so we can help you and compare. which visa are you adjusting from?
Also, you should call and see what they say, it doesn't cost anything
-
EaD card in production!! Yehey!
Can you update your timeline?
-
That's great. Congratulations! Your time-line is so fast.
I'm still stuck on the interview line. And will probably be for the next month...
-
Nothing for me
-
Sounds good, thank you very much!!

Just say that, researching business opportunities and visiting family.
Thanks Boiler.
They cannot say research of restaurant spaces ? Is that a red flag ?
-
What would be the nature of the business they want to do in the US, they can not work in the US on the VWP.
Yes, they don't want to work yet. They are opening a restaurant and need to find a space... as you know, find the right spot takes time and they can't have me choosing it for them without them seeing of course... once they find it, they will apply for investor visa and come back with it
AP and return to US
in Adjustment of Status from Work, Student, & Tourist Visas

Hello,
AP works most of the time. It is done for that, however, everyone will tell you, the officer has the last word! It is exactly the same situation when you arrive with your visa or tourist visa at the border : You are not 100% to get in, only when the officer says yes, which they do most of the time.
