   I called USCIS today to verify that the Change of Address I submitted online 6 months ago actually went through. I have an email that it did, but was reading this forum and decided to double check, since a lot of people said theirs didn't come through. 

    The Tier 2 officer called me back within 1,5hrs. She verified the address (they had the old one on file, and we updated it to my new one when she was on the phone). She wasn't able to say why the system didnt update it, but I guess it just happens. She was however able to verify that no communications were sent to me since the NOA/Biometrics notices,  so nothing was missed.

    Obviously, I had to ask about the timelines and how much longer will this process take...she said that she can't give any estimates or specifics...but that the June 9 date for CSC is no longer accurate. I asked if it means they are past that date, and she said, "It's possible". She sounded super nice and cheerful...haha... I know it's not much, but gave me some hope :-)

 

Moral of the story: do verify what address they have on file...

It happened to me! did the change of address, received a letter confirming and then called back this monday and the officier said nothing has been updated and did not see any change of address... she asked me to do it online rather than over the phone...

I think I will wait patiently until I hear back from them on my case as currently all the communication goes to my attorney's office.

She was a little arrogant and I could not check any further.

call back. some officers are more helpful than other. my IO this morning was not helpful at all. The IO on monday was very very nice and helpful. They HAVE to be able to confirm your address, they even ask you for name last name date of birth and address before you ask any questions.. so call back now!

and then ask to verify your address on file, and they will transfer you to a tier 2 officer

He said, he had NO record of me being sent a notice of my case being transferred (as I'm holding the notice in my hand) and that according to him my case was still at VSC. He said that on his end it didn't show him that I got approved, request for evidence, or anything. 

 

As far as cases being assigned, he said that it's a first come/first served basis and that cases get processed same day normally so there is no officer that has your case for days/weeks. He said that it's possible that with the workload they "intended" to move my case, but never did. 

 

When I asked if I did get moved would I be "in line" w/ the July filers at CSC or Feb/March 2017 filers and he said he had no idea. 

 

So now I'm stressing, to not know where my case is officially and it's just a matter of assuming that my case never moved is stressful. He did say that one year of waiting seemed long. 

what is your NOA date?

July filers are starting to get approved, little by little. you should call back and ask if everything is normal with your case, and if it has been assigned to someone ?

Same for me. I did change of address. And found out now that they don't see anything. I even received a mail saying and confirming my change of address. The officer told me to resubmit and call again to confirm in 5 days.

I called the uscis customer service number, followed the instructions and a guy answered. It seemed as he was just reading out of a scenario they supposed to do everytime somebody asks for an enquiry. How do you get to the tier 2 officer ? 

Tell them you need to verify your address on file and they will transfer you to an officer.

were you transferred to a tier 2 officer? 

Called USCIS... officer said my case was assigned to an officer June 30th and should receive an answer soon. Case was filed July 19 2016.

she said your case is being audited (not sure why she used that term to refer to assigned)

We received an RFE a few weeks ago, while we thought we had provided plenty of evidences I guess they wanted more. We hurried to gather everything we could think of to add and sent it out.

I was expecting a reception receipt this week and instead my status just changed to 'New card is being produced'. We thought the RFE(first one we got in the whole process) would have added a few months, so it was a big(and pleasant) surprise!

what was the RFE about ?

My boss is actually going through this process too with his husband and they applied in January (VSC) and haven't heard anything back. Some days I look at this forum and I see Nov filers getting approved in October and it gives me hope that maybe I'll hear news by June, and then sometimes I'm thinking I won't hear anything until August. Unfortunately, my lease ends in June and my complex is being torn down so I'll have to move and I've read on here that a sudden change of address can cause a RFE and I know when I did my change of address when I moved States, UNCIS sent me a letter a YEAR later saying I hadn't told them (I filled out the form online) so I'm a nervous wreck thinking what if I get one and I don't get the letter because my apartment doesn't exist anymore...what if UNCIS doesn't get my new address, it's just so stressful. I can become an insomniac worrying about all of this stuff.

I recently moved, and I called since I couldnt do it online, it says my A# wasnt correct. I called, the lady processed everything over the phone, and she told me to also send a form for the change of address, to be sure it is processed. I received this week the confirmation letter saying my address change has been processed. If you change your address, call and also file the form..

Regarding the RFE because of change of address, I never heard about this. I know people that moved several times and did not have any RFE for that reason. And if that is the case, a RFE is very fast to be processed anyway

I had / have the same problem. I sent it, to show that we opened it together and it was still opened and then explained the reason why we did not have any activities. I am still in the process of ROC so let's see.. that's the best I could do. the best is to disclose everything. so no RFE are sent

Called today for a change of address.

The lady was very nice and would not read me anything that I can see online. she told me "give it another 6-8 months for your petition to be approved"

Is anyone else scared of the election results?, do you think this will affect our times or outcomes?

I am in a same sex marriage, and I am fearful of what is to come.

don't worry about the elections. any right that we got are constitutional and it will be hard for any president to repeal them.

in fact, the processing time might be way quicker because they will rush to finish the application under Obama

something is def wrong with the biometrics scheduling.. I mean, I received mine pretty fast and august filers already received theirs... :-/

Can you please let us know what all documents are required for walkin infopass? I have scheduled one to get I551 stamp on my passport as my driving license as expired.

Still no NOA1!!!! Very frustrating when I see everyone around us is now getting biometrics. We called them tonight and they told us they cannot mail out a duplicate and that we have to make an infopass appointment to get my extension .... I have 24 days left on my greencard and we are out on vacation for 6 of those days. So angry right now!!!!

do a walkin infopass... thats what i did when they sent me my greencard with the wrong information.I said, I need to leave urgently because of a family problem and in a few minutes it was done
