  3. Hi VJ people!

I was reading a lot about how people give a lot attention to joint bank statements...

We opened a joint account but we never used it. The reason is I opened a business the year of our marriage, so all my income and my transaction would go to that account, and for tax purposes I would pay everything under the business.

Because of this, my husband never really change his account where he gets paid to our joint account. It was just easier this way.

However, we have all of the other financial proof :

    - joint credit card

    - joint health insurance

    - joint tax return for 2014 and 2015

    - internet bill at both names

    - electric bill at both names

other than those financial proof, we also have the following

    • HR and Payroll paperwork showing : Married
    • Pictures as key moments
    • Lease apartment together living together for 4 years

Let me know if you have been in this situation and your case was approved without problem

    thank you!

  4. I am in the same situation, we share everything but bank account. we do have a joint bank account but did not use it. this is our proof for ROC, i will be sending this month.

    • Joint Apartment lease
    • Joint tax return for 2014 & 2015
    • Joint Con Edison electric bill for 2 different month
    • Joint Verizon internet and Tv bill for 2 different month
    • capture of American Express website showing Joint credit card
    • Copy of both credit card to proof the screenshot
    • Joint health insurance for 2015
    • Joint health insurance for 2016
    • Plane ticket together
    • Payroll showing : Married
    • Pictures as key moments

Let me know what you guys think ?

I totally think it is ok if one does not want to share bank account. but we do share everything else.

  5. Hello,

I have a restaurant in NYC and I am looking to sponsor a french person to be one of the chef. My lawyer said it would be a problem. (E2) But the cost is pretty high...

    I have a question..

The french chef is already in the US.. On the form i-129 http://www.uscis.gov/i-129it says that If the desired employee is currently in the United States in a lawful nonimmigrant status, the qualifying employer may file Form I-129 on the employee’s behalf.

Does that mean that I can change his status within the US ?

    Thanks a lot

  6. Hi teja88,

Don't worry, we all help each other here, in one way or another! :)

    Ok, so :

    1) your proof for bonafide marriage are good enough to send the package. while waiting for the interview, try to get more proof (did you travel together? bank account, health insurance, lease etc... everything help!)

    2) Regarding the taxes, you have two solutions : Either, you sit down with an accountant (a good one) and try to find a solution, or... you find another USC sponsor , it doesn't have to be him only.
