  1. Hi everyone my i130 for my husband approved after 13 months and 8 days on June 25th how long should I wait for to call NVC to get my case number from them!! Many thanks in advance

    Hi Shama

Congratulations on your approval :dancing: . You should DEFINITELY read this http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process%C2'>

USCIS will ship your original I-130 approval to NVC which takes around 10 days . ( star calling next week ) When NVC receives the case it will take 25 to 30 days to get your Case number .

  2. My i130 is still pending after a week of having my expedite request approved. I heard a lot of stories of people that got an expedite and in a couple of days got an approval on there i130. Everyday after I got my expedite approved has been days of hope ending with disappointment :/ Once I get my i130 approved how long do I wait to expedite at NVC and how much faster does it make the process ?

It can take up to 30 days for your I 130 to be expedited (approved). If you dont have a RFE request.

Once it arrives at NVC (which you will have to call to see if arrived) you will then make an inquiry to nvc requesting an expedite (for whatever reason you have)

    If approved.

It will ONLY step up your Visa interview scheduling. NOT the whole NVC process itself .

  3. Hi everyone, I initially added this question to another topic but thought it might get buried.....decided it would be better to start a new one. Any help would be most appreciated....

the hard copy of the RFE was received on 20th June. My fiance posted it back to them on 23 June and I'm now a little concerned as I keep going on the USCIS website to see my status update, in the hopes that they may show they are reviewing it, but nothing is happening. I've asked him to check which address he sent it to and but I won't hear from him until later tonight. Would someone please confirm whether they let us know they have received it, or whether the next thing I hear from them will be whether or not our petition has been approved. I'm a little concerned that it may have gone astray and I won't know....

    thanks again

When they receive it and scan it to the system your status changes to "rfe response review". If you have signed up to receive email notice you will receive an enail
  4. I am newer than most of you to the NVC phase. I just received my case number on the 24th and now I am trying to get my IIN number because Ariel wouldn't give it to me last week. lol. Good Luck to all of you!

you can always call again and say you fogtot to ask for iinn number or wait for the email they will send you with all the info.

Edit: just saw you received it :-)

  5. "You're accountant should have given you a copy". What do you mean by this? We can get a copy instantly and 10 weeks later we can have the original? Is that what you mean?

"You're accountant should have given you a copy". What do you mean by this? We can get a copy instantly and 10 weeks later we can have the original? Is that what you mean? Thanks for the quick response btw, what you've said is such a relief☺️

My accountant gave me a copy of the ammendment. After a few weeks I will request from the irs the tax transcript (if needed for my case). The same with you. Send the copy to nvc with an explanation letter ... after a few weeks you can request from the irs the trandcript you want. Which you can have at the time of your interview.

  6. Oh God! We didn't know about this. Then if he filed an amendment how long will it take to finish the process? Can he get a copy instantly? If not then how about the AOS needed in NVC, can we submit first the copy of his SINGLE tax return and I'll just bring the copy of the amended one in the interview?

I changed mine for 2012 last week it take's around 10 weeks although my accountant said 4 weeks. My 2013 is HOH If i get a checklist for 2012 i should have it.

You're accountant should have given you a copy. I would include it in your file with a letter of explanation and i am sure they will ask you to bring the original at the time of your interview. Just relax. It is something that you can fix easily

  7. It has been exactly 2 weeks now since I got my case number and I still can't pay the AoS fee nor can I fill out DS-261. I know I need to be patient but is it taking this long for anyone else lately?

BTW, I called NVC last Friday and talked to Joy....... when I gave her my case number, she asked for my email address but I already gave them my email address when I called to get my case number. Do you think they didn't enter it into the system and it resulted in a delay for my AoS fee and DS-261 or do you think she simply asked to confirm?

I talked to them last week and it is taking 10 to 20 BUSINESS day's . You should be able to pay your ds-261 in a few days if not this evening. I logged in the day before they sent me the email.

  8. Don't pay the AOS until your wife also has an NVC case number and is joined up with your daughter's. this way you're making sure you are only paying it once.

I thought about that , but then again i might be able to expedite wife's case if daughters case moves along , plus i don't know what might come up at NVC on each case  . The last thing i am worried about is 88 $ . Not that i don't need it . Just saying.

I got my case number exactly one week ago and I also still cannot fill out the DS-261. It says that my case is not eligible for further processing at this time. I guess they are just being slow lately. I will try again later today.

    I know , i am following you're timeline :)

I got my Case Number June 19, 2014 Then I Submitted my DS-261 online Yesterday .

    :ranting: ..... J/K

some were fortunate to fill out there DS 261 the next day according to there timeline . I cant understand how there system/timeframe works .

  9. Hello everyone!

This form has been super useful to me starting the IR-1/CR-1 process for my Wife, and I would be super lost without a lot of the wonder posts here!

I am Just about to send in my I-130 Packet in for my Wife but I have a question I am confused on.

I have a question about the G-325A Form, the question pertaining to (Application's Last residence outside the US of more than 1 year).

Does this mean consecutively over 1 year or 1 year in TOTAL?

    Example:

I lived in Japan for Nine Months -- ABCD Address Japan (9 Months total) 2012

I moved Back to the USA -- DCBA Address USA (1 Year) 2012-2013

Then i moved BACK to Japan (Exact Same Address) -- ABCD Address Japan (9 Months Total)2013- 2014

So in TOTAL I lived in Japan at the Same address for 18 months, but not consecutively?

    What do you think?

    Thanks!

you did not live consecutively for or over 12 months . So dont make things more complicated than needed. ;-)

    NONE would be you're answer.

  10. It wouldn't hurt to call, but you might just get told to wait 30 business days, so be prepared for that response. Mine only took a couple of days, but I've heard of people waiting longer. Fingers crossed you can complete the DS-261 and pay the AOS fee soon!

Already thought about the 30 day #######. I will just wait till next week. It is not that important anyway , cause i am still waiting for wifey's approval from USCIS so she can join our daughter in the NVC process.

    Thank you

  11. Hi all

It has been 6 day's since i got my daughters case & inn # 's , i try to log on to the ceac site to start the process with the choice of agent or pay the aos fee but no luck. It is there but greyed out . I cant do anything.

Sayilin's Wiki says that it takes about a week , but i have seen other peoples timeline and most our 2 ,3 days after the case # has been assigned . If i cant get in tomorrow , should i start calling nvc ?

  12. Definitely get 2012 changed as filing single is not an option (if you were married in 2012).

As for 2013, if you qualify for HOH (read the criteria on IRS's website), then that filing status is fine.

Ty for the fast reply Sayilin ,

    From IRS

"Nonresident alien spouse. You are considered unmarried for head of household purposes if your spouse was a nonresident alien at any time during the year and you do not choose to treat your nonresident spouse as a resident alien. However, your spouse is not a qualifying person for head of household purposes. You must have another qualifying person and meet the other tests to be eligible to file as a head of household."

That is what my accountant stated too . My qualifying person is our Son who lives with me. My accountant said to leave 2013 as is .
