Hello VJ community -

I am in the process of filling out the I-864EZ and I am not sure which name to use. Our NVC case has my wife's Maiden Name, but recently my wife updated to her Married Name as indicated on her passport that she recently received.

I called NVC twice and here's what they told me:

1st call: "NVC rep - go ahead and use the updated name and have all of the I-864EZ form filled out. Send nvcinquiry an email about the name change and provide a photocopy of her passport in email. Once they have confirmed the name change, go ahead and submit the I-864EZ package. (I already sent an email to NVC about this, but have not heard any update on it...its been about 2 weeks now)

2nd call: NVC rep - Go ahead and use the updated name and make a note in the package that the name she is now using is the married name. Submit the I-864EZ package. Whichever comes first, NVC will update the name accordingly, (the email or the note that I will include in I-864EZpackage).

Which name should I use? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Have you called NVC to see if they updated the na,me change ? If not i would send the I - 864 package with a note + photocopy of her passport

Where does it show birthdays on ceac website? We have attorney so we didnt have to fill out DS 261 and we didnt see any birthdays mentioned on fee invoices.

Ceac websight does not have petitioners dob. I found out about my wrong dob when i called for case update and rep tolled me they had the wrong dob.

Yamil, I have the same problem. They have petitioner's name wrong. We sent an email with passport copy to have it corrected about a week ago. No response yet. We were told it would take several weeks to get email reviewed. As long as all forms are filled correctly with correct names, it shouldnt effect visa process though. They can also get it corrected during interview.

I also had a problem with my (DOB) . I was tolled to send passport photo and it was processed in 3 day's.

I was waiting for a response also, but found out 3 days later that it was corrected on there system when i called for update on my case's.

Give them a call , i am sure they already corrected the problem for you.

I pray you don't get any checklist and I wish you get thru NVC stage soonest.

Believe it or not , it has been 2 1/2 years since I've seen my wife and daughter. When my wife was denied a visitor Visa last November i promised her it was going to be our last Christmas apart . Without a checklist i have a big chance of keeping my promise. or i am skewed

My AOS coversheet said ATTN: CMR and my IV package coversheet said ATTN: DR otherwishe the addresses are the same.

Hmm...

My AOS was ATTN: CMR AOS and IV was ATTN:CMR

Wonder why that difference .

Anyone here with two cases at NVC (i.e. wife + stepchild)?

Mine and my daughter's cases were linked by NVC last month.

Hubby was able to pay my daughter's IV fee last week and I filed her DS-260 form yesterday but mine still not available. I called NVC and the rep Olivia told me its linked only to have the interview at same day (I thought we would have everything released at same day)

Can anybody share their experience with two cases?

I have two case's also. If you look at my signature , my Daughters case (NVC) was almost 2 months ahead of wife's case.

Miraculously Wife's case caught up with daughters case.

Please help me, i thought this DS-261 will be an easy thing thing but its became biggest hurdle for me, Submitted Ds-261 on june 14, checked on july 16, its shows incomplete as i didnt receive IV bill, again resubmitted on july 16, and show completed till today on august 19, received mail from NVC

You need to complete Form DS-261, Online Choice of Address and Agent. Go to our website ceac.state.gov to complete the DS-261.

I dont know what wrong with this, its already showing on their website complete and NVC is saying to resubmit. Two months already wasted on it. and i am totally fed up by this. i thought USCIS will be the problem but they clear my case without any trouble. Pleas help me with this

It is a false checklist. Probably your AOS was accepted .Call NVC tomorrow

Not sure if anyone answered you but YES why not that's the way I've been doing it and everyone else. I mark each envelope with my name address, case number and phone number and IV and beneficiarys name along with it. .

Yes Soloenta that's how i did it. Each case in separate folders and into one mailing envelope .

I will send both IV packets for daughter and wife. Should I send it In one flat rate envelope with the two cases . To save some money ?

But I filed I864EZ, dont remember having that question. I did submitted my last six months of pay stubs until July, where I have reached 25k already.

Will this be enough? I have missed three months of work last year because of traveling and marriage and all the other stuffs. But this year hopefully no distractions of any kind.

That question is right before where it asks for your Tax income info. 2011, 2012, 2013.

I am sure you will be fine since you provided your last six months of pay stubs and have reached the poverty line already.

After reading hundred times, I finally send my AOS package. Hopefully it is already scaned, I calculated at August 15th. My only concern is.... I might be getting a checklist for my I864EZ. I am qualifying to fill up this particular form, but my only question is, I am on the border of income line (25k to be exact and my family size is 3). Does anyone know weather I should prepare for joint sponser? Or I should be fine. I am making way more then last year.

Can't go through 60 day waiting period again.

Did you do your math what your income will be ? based on your pay stubs??

If you are making way more then last year and provided your recent pay stubs you should be fine. But the final decision will be made by the Embassy.

My daughter also is travelling BUT she has her own case# . So the answer should be No ?

and

" Is this child immigrating to the U.S. at a later date to join you?

I am about to send both IV packets for daughters and wife's case s

Do I need to send the marriage certificate for daughters case ? ( I don't think I have to, because I need it for my wife's case) . A copy of the marriage certificate was sent for the I 130 process. Should i include a copy for NVC ??

For the police certificate . I read that it goes straight to the Embassy from the Greek authority but just to make sure , I emailed the Embassy and they replied :

Dear Mr. ........

We would like to inform you that the Greek authority send the Greek penal record for judicial use directly to the Immigrant Visa Unit at the US Embassy. The police certificate is kept until the day of the immigrant visa interview appointment. NVC is aware of this process.

Now I am troubled with "NVC is aware of this process " should i send along with the civil documents a letter reminding them that the Greek authority send the penal record to the Embassy just in case the person that will review the packet is not aware of that ?

Question 1: I sent DS 261 Form on July 10th and today is August 10th - Should I not be expecting them to send me something this week in order to pay IV bill?

Question 2: I called NVC and someone told me that they review DS260 with IV and OAS Package is that true?

I am hoping not because just in case I had a mistake on AOS package which I sent on 7/25 and IV Package which I sent 8/8 - to correct something just in case I need to.

1) It is 30 business days maybe more . 30 business days for you is August 20th minimum.

2)I don't think it works like that. They scan and review your documents as received / scanned. Then you wait for the new 60 day review policy from nvc

Ok, my friend is married to a USC and her USC husband filed the I-130 last February 2014, my friend has a 14 year old daughter from her previous marriage now her husband filed two I-130s. Now, her husband received an approval letter from uscis for the daughter and nothing or no approval letter yet for my friend, is that possible that her daughter got approved first before the mother?

Yes it is possible. I filed for both dauhter and wife. Daughter got approved first .

I think it has to do with daughters case . Maybe they are moving both cases together. Now just hoping there will be no checklist on daughters AOS so i can send my wife's also.

Just receivef email for ds 260 for daughter . Wifes also. Wifes case has not been 30 days since case arrived. Not 30 business days. Sryy driving and texting. I am in shock

It's pretty obvious if it's not Armenia when they have another country listed on their profile So, if I ever see Armenia listed as the country on the profile page, I might say that's a good chance that person is actually from there. But, now that you mention it, I'm not sure if I've ever truly seen someone from Armenia!

The problem is you're (form) spreadsheet

First off when i tried to fill out the spreadsheet it automatically had Armenia on the form even though it was in Greek and i could not change it .

Still the form show's Armenia even though my timeline say's Athens Greece. So there is something wrong with you're form.

I was thinking more along the lines of legal presence when it comes to schools.

Birth certificates are ok of Us citizens but when it comes to foreign nationals they might have other requirements.

You might be able to home school her. That may be a way to comply with the law.

My son came last year . He did not have a Green card he was on a tourist visa at the time. The school only asked for his Birth certificate (of course translated ) .

I am sorry I cannot answer if they will send you a true checklist since YOU think you made 2 mistakes. Personally I hope they don't All you got to do is relax and call Monday Nvc.

From what I've read here from other members . IF there is a checklist it will follow up the next 2 days . Hope you get through this like you please.

If i am not mistaken they are reviewing your AOS package .. DO NOT OPEN the DS261 it will reset your time

I Need to confirm if:

1) I-864 is all caps or not. Cause depending if its caps or not it changes the bar code on the form.

2) I have a joint sponsor how should I organize the papers mines and joint sponsors. And when I submit them, I put a bar coded sheet over my stuff and put in envelope and do I make a 2nd envelope with bar coded sheet and put in another envelope for joint sponsor?

1) All caps . I dont think it changes the bar code if you use caps or not.

Hello everyone..We need advise and we will be happy if anyone can help us with our situation please.We have already payed and got a receipt for AOS and the status was mark paid but on checking the status last night it changed to N/A we dont know what mighyt be the reason please can someone help us we are confused

I think you should call NVC Monday , you just got a CASE COMPLETE..

Hello all

Yesterday i also received the famous 60 day email by NVC how exciting.

I also received from NVC the email to pay the AOS fee for my wife's case , BUT noticed the street number on the address was off by 70 numbers . first my DOB was wrong , now the address was wrong .

I had to make the call to see what the F#@! is going on with wife's scewed up case.

​Talked to lovely Liz who was very helpful. She corrected the right street # ( i thought they only give info ) . Then she also informed me that my inquiry that i did Wednesday concerning my wrong DOB was corrected on the system . I was surprised it took only two days for the inquiry to be opened.

We went to my daughters case and she tolled me to call next week when her 30 business days are up since 261 was submitted. Seriously i don't know what to believe. First email with the 60 day BS then the operator instructing me to call back when her 30 business day's are up. Just don't know who to believe.

Now i got a question to the experts here.

I am waiting for the AOS to be reviewed for daughters case . Should i wait to see if i get a checklist first before i send my wife's AOS so i dont make the same mistake ? Will that cause a delay on wife's case ? I am so frickin confused .
