  1. Just spoke with NVC rep. {I care less about her name} she gave me the usual BS 60days quote. Asked her what date they are working on, she said she doesn't have access to that info, told me to call back September 30. SMH for NVC

    EOC4ever,

They really are idiots and they just cant understand what WE are going through. Yes they may be getting a-lot of phone calls for info but it is there frickin job and if they dont like it then get the hell out of there.

  2. They must have hired one person with a brain and figured everything out so shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh don't say a word about your child hehehe you were lucky.

Not sure but I heard they send the AOS and IV to the Embassy someone correct me if I'm wrong. What sense would it make to send it to you, but then when have they

ever made any sense. I would call again not all customer reps know what they're talking about and if possible speak to Silvia the supervisor I have heard she is very good

and kind. It' s worth a try and also send an e-mail to your Embassy it takes them two to three days to respond, I would also ask them if they accept copies of the documents since it's possible the originals wont be there in time. I'm sure they will accept it and you will at least have proof they accepted and have your wife take a copy of the e-mail also.

Know many of us, I for one will be praying for this to work out smoothly for you. God bless you and your beautiful family you will see all will workout. :)

Thank you Soloenta , i will call Monday and ask to speak with Sylvia.

Congratulations on your expedite :dancing: :joy: its a good thing to be finally done with NVC.

Have read on VJ and facebook about similar thing, yes NVC will return the package to the petitioner so yes I think the package will be sent back to you and you will have to bring it to the interview. But to be on the safe side, you might want to get another set of package ready, just in case NVC don't return the package on time to you.

**but you never can tell, a sensible NVC staff might decide to help dig out your package and include it into your case file**

    NVC is unpredictable.

Thank you EOC4ever . I just hope it does not backfire on me.

I hear many different stories about the expedite. Yesterday one person (i think) from Australia was asked to send the IV packet to NVC before the Embassy will make the decision. I guess i will have to wait ..... As for getting another package ready , the Aos package easy to fix . The problem will be with the ORIGINALS that are located at NVC.

I refuse to believe they are so STUPID to approve an expedite and send the case WITHOUT the supporting documents to the Embassy. It just doesn't make sense.

If i have to wait for the civil documents to be sent back to me , i would have been better off NOT requesting the Expedite based on my last scan date.

  3. TINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO so very happy your here and so happy and excited you got your expedite for your wife an child wow amazing woooooooooooooooHooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Congratulations. :D

Aww thank you not sure I will get it next week but it would be so nice to no longer need NVC. So happy your here :)t5063.gif

FOR TINO'S EXPEDITE AND PRAYING THE REST OF THE WAY IS SMOOTH SAILING AND YOUR QUICKLY REUNITED WITH YOUR BEAUTIFUL FAMILY.

Actually i only requested for wife . I dont know how my 20 year old child :P got approved without requesting it.

I am worried sick though because i dont know if they did/will send the AOS/Civil documents which is common sense.

But i spoke last night with NVC operator (which didnt know the expedite was approved until i tolled him ) he informed me that the civil docs will be returned to me WHEN they review them and see that there is no case at NVC then i will have to send them to my wife. It doesnt make sense at all.

  4. What are examples of really strong ties to the home country? Other than having a good job would a lease for an apartment prove anything? How about a car and paying the installments? If there are any other suggestions from anyone It would be very appreciated. Anyone who has been approved for a B2. visa have any helpful info? Thank you

I will tell you my experience.

My wife has a house had her own business our daughter living with her and She was denied the tourist visa (last November) . Not enough ties.

Wife tolled the Officer how can i have not enough ties ? He replied you can easily sell them.

    good luck

  5. Congrats tino!.......... Did u pay AOS fee for both wife and daughter or just one?

Thanks , but still have to find out if they did send the whole package.

Yes i paid for both of them . Two seperate cases . Although i could have avoided paying for both .

The reason i paid both was because my daughters case was ahead almost 2 months at NVC . I wanted to send fast the AOS documents in case of any checklist. So i could avoid the checklist for Wife's case. Fortunately there was no checklist for daughters AOS. I don't think i would had one for wife since they were both identical .

  6. ==============================================================

    Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the

immigrant visa petition: ATH********* filed by ********

***** on behalf of ***********. The NVC completed its

processing of this visa petition, and forwarded it to the U.S. Embassy

    or Consulate in ATHENS GREECE.

The U.S. Embassy or Consulate General accepted this case for expeditious

processing, and the case was sent to the assigned U.S. Embassy or

    Consulate General in ATHENS, GREECE.

As this petition is no longer located at the NVC you must resubmit your

inquiry or request, and all future correspondence to the U.S. Embassy or

Consulate General where the beneficiary's interview will take place.

Also, please be sure to notify the Embassy or Consulate General of any

change of postal mail or e-mail address, or any change in personal

circumstances that may affect the applicant's eligibility for a visa.

    =========================================================================

Sept 2nd i filed an expedite request for my wife and yesterday i got the above email. I just logged in to thee ceac site and saw that the case is in transit. I also logged in to daughters case and was stunned to see that my daughters case is also in transit to Athens. How can that be when i only made the expedite for my wife ?

I lost my sleep last night because the NVC operator tolled me the packets that are not reviewed will be sent back to me (sender) when the time comes to be reviewed. Dont they send the whole packet to the Embassy ? I am so confused. If that is the case then what kind of expedite is that

  7. Hello Everyone,

My first post! I've been on here for a few months sporadically in this process getting loads of good advice :) so..thank you! We are just in the NVC process ourselves. I submitted the DS-261 on July 13th 2014....aaaannd still no IV bill invoiced :(

I think i've made a few mistakes after reading a lot of forums and reading about people getting checklists, so i wanted to see what you guys think about it all.

Mistake #1: On the Form I-864EZ, we left a few spots blank. Like Part 3, #9 - place of residence (if diff't from mailing). Also left Name of second employer blank since there's only one employer.

Mistake #2: Signed the form I-864EZ in blue ink! Thought this would be best because we filed using electronic processing. But re-read the instructions and realised they do specifically say black ink.

Mistake #3: On the ceac website, on august 23rd, clicked on the DS-261 link! Argh. Went from complete to incomplete. So i re-completed it, but I didn't get an email from NVC, so i'm hopeful that they are still just considering the july 13th date for submitting the ds-261. I read on the August NVC thread, that the resetting of the date was a glitch and it seems to be fixed - i'm hopeful of this since I don't want to be set back 60 days from august 23rd! I am planning to call NVC to double check next week.

So with the above mistakes, I am resigning myself for a checklist for our AOS package. Since we haven't even submitted the IV package yet, i'm guessing the timeline will be similar for approval of both packages even with a potential checklist. Really really hopeful for a december interview date, but am prepared for a January one...it would really suck if it's later than that!

Anyways, just wanted to post and let you guys know where my husband and I are at. I know that we are luckier than most since my husband is in seattle and I live in Vancouver and we do get to see each other every weekend...but it's hard when we're the only ones in our social circle going through this. However, it has been helpful and encouraging to see how helpful everyone is each other in this slow excruiciating beurocratic process!

Mistake # 1 . Alot of VJ members got a checklist on that.

Mistake # 2. I also signed with blue ink and got approved, So you should not have any problem

Mistake # 3. I also did the exact same thing on daughters case . i called after 4 days to see what happened and the operator tolled me the date that i originally submitted the ds-261. I guess they fixed that glitch .

You sent your AOS about two weeks ago and your IV is not available yet. I would resend the AOS package with the mistake # 1 corrected.

Groooannnn... parents-in-law didn't sign in black ink but used blue. Send anyway? We have waited 2 weeks for this paperwork and another wait is just a horrifying prospect

I also signed with blue ink and got approved recently BUT all the rest was in black ink

yes I did. they were firm on the phone. they told me it is a legal contract and has to be signed in black ink. they told me that was the ONLY thing wrong with my I864. And then they told me when I send it, i have to wait 60 days before I can call back and ask. They will get a hold of me! She even had her supervisor confirm it ..that it was the reason I had a checklist as my checklist was blank. 2 days after my call,, I received the checklist saying I had to sign in black ink.. and that was the ONLY thing on it! <_<

That is weird .. you sure it was only that mistake ?

    Hello Everyone

Need some urgent help !! Thanks

I had sent my AOS docs mid August

    1) .I just realised that I have put the incomes wrong in the I-864 EZ . My tax reciepts say I filled up form 1040 but I wrote Adjusted Gross Income instead of Total Income.

    2) Also I signed on the form with Blue Ink.

Should I send the whole package again to NVC again with all docs or Should I wait and hope I am not checklisted.....how much probable I am to be checklsted for the point 1income goof up

    thanks

    1) Better send a new AOS Packet with the correct number (total income) you will definitely get a checklist

    2) I signed in blue and got no checklist.

OMG, we submited ds-261 on july 9th. Hopefully they work with us this week. My husband will try to call tomorrow

    Good luck you are close

send it as fast as they can with Fedex and not awful awful awful USPS.

All my packets were sent by USPS with GUARANTEE delivery the next day.

All were delivered the next day as Guaranteed .

  8. It also says to use all capital letters, but not a lot of people do that either ;)

We signed in blue ink for everything and had no issues. Personally, to me, a signature in blue ink looks more real than in black as black may appear to be a photocopy (and I've seen checklists for suspicions on that).

Yes Saylin you are right . ( as always)

About three or four months ago someone in here (NVC thread) got a checklist because NVC thought it was a photocopy. I made a note  about that and when my time came to send the

AOS I signed it with Blue pen so they see it is not a photocopy. The whole form was in capital letters and black ink except my signature.

    My AOS got Approved

  9. Thankyou fr the wishes! After how long did u receive the email? I was checklisted Thursday. and still haven't recieved any email from them. 2 precious are already lost. Should I wait fr it or just send the correction with AOS cover sheet? I don't know why I think that with AOS cover sheet they longer time and with checklist cover sheet maybe shorter :|

Samreen ,if you are going to send it before your emailed checklist use the AOS cover sheet and add ATTN: DR

but why not wait till Tuesday when you will get your checklist ? Look at my false checklist

National Visa Center Case Number Barcode Cover Sheet ______________________________________________

Youmust use this cover sheet when you physically submit forms and/or supporting documents to the NVC. Place a legible copy of this form on the top of each submission and mail to the address given below.

Note: Failure to use this cover sheet will delay your visa.

Use this cover sheetonly for the case number indicated below. Information for any other case(s) being mailed in the same package must include the cover sheet forthat case.

    National Visa Center ATTN: DR

31 Rochester Avenue, Suite 100 Portsmouth,

    NH 03801-2914

It will only be a few days delay if you wait for your email checklist. I am sure you will receive it by Tuesday .

  10. You will be just fine.

Sometimes it can take up to 30 business days for the inquiry to be reviewed. BUT , I would call NVC to see if they updated your info .

They had my (petitioner) DOB wrong so i had to send a copy of my passport (inquiry) and i have not received any email/mail about the "problem" and it has been almost a month. A week after the the inquiry i called NVC for an update on daughters case and out of curiosity, i asked if my DOB was updated on wife's case and they corrected the DOB without sending anything to me , mail or email.

    Good luck

  11. I'm sorry if my questions sound stupid, but I seem to NOT find the answers anywhere even though I've looked everywhere. In filling out the AOS packet, on question #1 of part 2, the "last name" of the immigrant, do I put her new last name, meaning mine? They do not specify if maiden or not.

You will put the name you used on the I 130 petition , I am assuming her name on her passport is the same as the petition. You will NOT use her maiden name on the AOS simply because it does NOT ask for a maiden name.

Also, besides sending transcripts from IRS, and my paystubs showing proof of income, what are the other documents I need to send? I'm thinking of proof of my 401K as well. But what other documents do I need to gather together with the I-864EZ? Is this when I send proof of employment? or is it at another time?

Since you are the only sponsor meaning you meet the poverty guidelines you should include

    1) AOS cover sheet (with the barcode)

    2) I 864 EZ (signed and dated)

    1) IRS tax transcripts

    2) most recent pay stubs (6 months )

    3) Employment letter

That is ALL you need as long as you are above the poverty line. (I also included the bank statements where it showed the direct deposits. )

But you should read saylins wiki for the NVC process http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process It explains all this thoroughly :secret:

I need major help Please people! Also, someone here told me to make sure to put my address in question 9 of Part 3 because even though it says (if different from mailing address), they may still mark it "with a checkmark" and cause delay.

must DEFINITELY fill that out . Alot of people got a checklist for that.

And lastly, if some questions do not need an answer, for example, my wife doesn't have a middle name, do we just leave blank, or write "n/a", or "none" Thanks for all the answers ahead of time, and sorry if I seem too innocent about all this, but I don't wanna get it wrong since it causes so many delays. :content:

Do not leave ANYTHING blank . N/A or NONE where needed.

    GOOD LUCK :dancing:

    P.S.

I have seen the "sample of I-864EZ", and still none of my questions are answered in there.

  12. Checklist guys. As expected. But shockingly it wasn't for the w2 that I was thinking. They accepted all the sponsor's documents. She said the petetioner didn't check yes or no in a military question. And that we didn't add up the household size correctly. I don't know how is that possible. We marked one for himself, one for adding all others and n/a in married. Now let's wait for the email. I m still surprised though that they accepted the tax returns without w2 from what the operator told me.

Oh i am so sorry Samreen ,

Why on earth cant you frickin take the corrected AOS to the interview? This hole process is ..... stay strong and positive (F)

  13. I also opened it about two weeks after I submitted it... My husband just called today and they confirmed that the date submitted was the original one! what a relief!!! She also said that we should receive an email for the IV fee next week as our DS261 was submitted July 30. I was so afraid that it was 60 days! It's for that I wanted to send the package earlier.

Anyway, she also said that we can send the package now, use the cover sheet of the AOS and simply put Attn. DR

I hope those infos can be useful for others... And I wish fast cc to everybody!

I guess the glitch has been fixed. Because many vj members had there ds 261 reset ted when they opened it in the past.

IV opens up after 30 business days of completing DS 261. So next week is your 30 business days . As for sending in the package earlier , its worth a try if you are willing to do so and take the risk

    ,

    BUT...

This is what i have seen with my cover letters.

    AOS = Attn: CMR AOS

    IV = Attn: CMR

and just yesterday i received a false checklist and the cover sheet is Attn: DR.

Personally i would hesitate sending it earlier because of the different department's , CMR AOS, CMR and DR . I would not want ORIGINAL document being lost when sent to the wrong department, then having the department transfer the docs to the correct department God knows how.

I personally would rather wait two weeks to do it right , then having a delay do to sending the docs to the WRONG department. just my humble opinion :-)

  14. i talked to NVC a few hours ago. They confirmed me not to open ds-261 once it is completed. This action resets the registration date. i insisted her about why is this that way if i did not either modify or resubmit the form again and I have a electronic confirmation with the original date. I specifically requested about what is my ds-261 registration date in the system. She barely answered my question and said that there was no date in the system for my ds-261. She told me again not to open it. I don't know what to think. This people tease us....anyways, lesson learned!

I also opened the DS 261 accidentally :ranting: Did not touch anything and closed it back up. I called NVC and they confirmed the date submitted which was the original date.

Lucky me no harm was done.

Call again and ask what date your ds261 is on the system. They know the date . Unfortunately the rep. did not want to assist you properly.

  15. Congratulations on the progress  its always a very huge relief having AOS reviewed and ACCEPTED.

Yes, it was a HUGE relief . Thank you :D

Congratulations on getting your daughter's AOS being reviewed without checklist, very few people are escaping the much dreaded checklists

    Thank you.

I am just so happy and fortunate that i found found this community . Reading other peoples mistakes from there checklists , helped out BIG TIME .

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo HOooooooooooooooooooooooooo CONGRATULATIONS happy things are moving along and you got a nice lady on the phone. :D

    m0113.gift9304.gifegyptian.gifegyptian.gifh0403.gifegyptian.gifegyptian.gift9304.gifm0113.gif

Thank you so much Soloenta i pray you get a CC soon . It will make me so Happy . Yes the lady was so nice , seriously she would not keep her mouth shut. The funny thing was when we were talking about the 60 day mail and she said

"let me see , you got yours in 46 days . Oh my , we are making progress !! "

    that blew me away.

    Haha, that's awesome!!

    Woohoo!

too bad i didn't record the conversation , just so you can hear her reaction !! It was so funny.

    Hey all,

I just filled out ds-260 form online. I have a question.

By mistake i put answer YES in question Is your spouse immigrating to the U.S. with you?

This is my first marriage. So i put No in previous spouse question.

Does it make any issue or problem in processing ?

Please help. I am really scared.

It will not be a problem , just clarify that when you have your interview,

My wife goofed up on her last employment. Wrong address wrong phone number . NVC tolled me it is not a big deal and they cant re-open the ds 260 .It will be corrected at the interview.

    Thank you.

But it would take time to update the form? Plus DS 260 is involved in NVC Process or it is just needed for interview ?

    Please Help.

They will not update the form at NVC . It will be updated at the interview. . The Visa Unit at the Embassy will review the DS 260 .

  16. When was ur AOS scanned? Congratulations! And lol saylin ur fame has reached Nvc operators as well now  maybe they should take some tips from ur wiki and add the info to the official instructions so people get less checklists lol

    Hi Samreen,

Daughters AOS scan date was 7/11/2014 . I noticed last week that we had the same scanned date and was keeping an eye on your posts of any news about the AOS. I think you should call tomorrow .

I am sure you will have a case complete by the 10th of September . You have been waiting toooo longgggg !!

  17. Just got off the phone with Nvc operator super duper nice old lady (didn't catch her name) .

I called because my wife goofed up on her most recent employment question on ds 260. Wrong address :wow: wrong phone number :wow:

I tolled the lady my concern and she tolled me not to worry and when she has her interview just to mention it and they will fix it. ouuuuffffffffffff :dancing:

Then i asked if she can see my daughters case concerning her AOS ( i was afraid , due to the most checklists on AOS packet) . She gladly looked and tolled me it was reviewed and ACCEPTED today!! :dancing: :crying: :dancing: . I was so worried and anxious about the AOS (I (864 EZ) . 33 business days to be reviewed.

The lady even informed me that i will receive a false checklist and to disregard it . I said yeah , Saylin tolled us not worry   She was like huh ?????? I explained to her about Saylin's wiki and VJ and she laughed ....
