Hey everybody. Since our thread seems to be pretty active, how do you guys feel about keeping track of our dates in a spreadsheet?

I saw the March 2016 filers one, and started putting one together. Of course no one has to participate if they don't want to, but it'd be a more organized space for it. How does that sound?

I just gave the NOA one year extension to the HR lady at my work (I received an email saying that GC expires soon), she didn't seem satisfied with it and asked to see more proof of employment authorization. I explained the process to her, and that it's all I have during the wait,  but she was very skeptical and said that she'd look into it...I'm sure it will be ok,but still the USCIS should have a better way of handling this process without having an expired card at all. Or HR people should be trained better

Hey Jamy!! Good to see you!  Did time fly fast or what? Seems like we just went through all this together and here we are again!

We sent ours and it was received at the CSC on March 9th. Have not received any confirmations nor has check been cashed.

Just checked the mail and received NOA1 from VSC extending status for a year as expected. It's dated March 8, one day after the package was delivered and two days before the checks actually showed as cashed in our bank account. Just in time for my green card expiring this Thursday.

Please note that I'm not suggesting you leave it to the last week like I did, but I'm posting this as a sort of counter to the general feeling here on VJ that if you don't mail your petition the first day your window opens USCIS is going to set it on fire and deport you.  There could always be problems with mail delivery and mistakes on the checks or petition, so it's always prudent to do things early. You'll also be done sooner. The thing is, this should be obvious but filing the first day vs. the last week will absolutely not make a difference to USCIS. I just can't understand some of the threads on here and the people stressing out about not being able to mail it the first day (and repeating false information like 'USCIS doesn't like it if you don't do this!') or being so impatient they file one day too early and get it sent back to them. We've gone through so much already, and we're going to be waiting for like a year regardless. Let's not stress out so much!

The N-400 I'm definitely going to try and have ready around the beginning of my filing window in December, after I do some research about filing with ROC pending.

    Boosbear! Another familiar one! :-)

Same here! Planned to travel to Germany but not taking any chances either with all this going on. I might change my mind if they put a stamp in my passport for extension but just with the extension letter? No way!!! Well, the weather here in Florida is better anyways ;-)

Good to see familiar faces from the April 2014 group. This part was stressful for us too....but not near as stressful as the first time. Just relieved our package is off & should be received tomorrow. The waiting will suck tho, we have another Canadian friend who sent theirs in July & the only thing they received is a letter stating she was allowed to stay in the US another year, that's it. I'll just have to forget about it for awhile.....just thankful every day my hubby is here. ❤

Yeah, this is the only part that bothers me. I'm sure under different circumstances it would have been safe, but given the way things are right now I don't think I'll be leaving the country with an expired green card plus the extension notice if I can avoid it, and why I'd like to naturalize ASAP.

You're so sweet. That is exactly how I feel, I'm mostly just antsy to get it sent off! Once they have it I can go back to not thinking about this stuff at all.

So happy for you that it's easier.  This time next year it'll be citizenship time!

I remember you too! It's crazy that we all spent so much time waiting and waiting for approval, finally got it and disappeared for about two years. Now we're all back again! It's nice to know we're all in it together though, and soon enough we'll go back to just living our lives not thinking about wait times.

    Thanks so much!

TwoChickies! I remember you and Jamy and some others from the horrible NVC threads (and some even from the April 2014 I-130 thread). I also hadn't logged into here in almost two years and it's definitely interesting and weird.

    Your list looks great!

Uh Oh started it again huh.
Well I could say some of those same things about plenty of other countries around the world. You are generalizing, stereotyping, and lumping every Amercian into the same category. You are very wrong. I know plenty of hardworking, dedicated, never been on government assistance, caring individuals that fight everyday for what they believe in. Government assistance was put in place to help those in need, there may be abusers to the system, but the benefits outway the bad.
As far as #6, yes we are patriotic and anyone who chooses to put their safety and life in jeopardy to fight for others is a hero all day in my book.
    So here are your options:
    1. Leave and go back to your country if you don't like it here.
    2. Do something about it. Instead of making these whining posts go out and do something actively to improve the situation
    Peace

    Hi guys,
short update: I had my interview yesterday and they said approved.
Although the CEAC status updated date changed (yesterday and today again) it is still "Ready" with the "before Interview" text.
I hope that doesn´t mean anything bad or will delay the visa being issued.

Nicht ganz billig, aber super Referenzen. Wir werden ITO Möbelspedition nehmen. Der Service bisher (Vorbereitungen, telefonischer Kontakt) lief bisher super. Angebot kam super schnell. Die haben auch in Hamburg ein Büro (unser Umzug geht von Kreis Pinneberg, S-H).

Just got off phone with NVC... no interview date for us yet....
    but....
I´ve got some further background info: the rep mentioned that they (I figure the phone reps) got an email that the interview departement are scheduling second round for May.
I asked him if that applies for Frankfurt / Germany or for all embassies. And his answer was: they don´t get a list which embassies so the May scheduling could be any embassy / consulate.
Hope it puts some more light on the mystery of scheduling interviews.

No news on interview date yet!
As for email confirmation of Frankfurt Consulate given to my husband (petitioner):
There is no law that forbids to travel to the States while petition pending but the last word is by the immigration officer at POE. He decides and if he thinks you won´t have enough ties returning to Germany he won´t let you in.
We (the FRN consulate) recommend NOT traveling to the States while a pending CR1 petition.
