JimyAnita got a reaction from OhWait in I-751 November 2016 Filers
That's the thing, it was never clear to me and when I asked a Tier 2 officer, they said they didn't know either. According to that notice that I received, yeah, they sent the ROC after the N400+ROC interview to speed things up and NBC presumably approved it. But this is all just a guess, based on the letter I received.

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to update you on my situation.
Took the Oath of Allegiance yesterday and became a US citizen. Also got my passport right away at the Miami Passport Agency as I'm traveling internationally tomorrow (I actually had a flight yesterday afternoon but the passport was not issued in time for that).
The funny thing I wanted to share is that as soon as I left the passport office, I also received an unrelated text message that my permanent green card was mailed to me. So the timeline from approval to mailed was less than 3 weeks (April 24 / May 11). This is for all of you that have not applied for citizenship but were approved for the ROC and have not received your card. Things seem to be moving.
All the best!

And yes, YAY for us!!! <3

Fingers crossed that it is for the 16th then!
I will certainly let you know how it went. I have a motto (or I seem to live by one): if it's not complicated, I don't like it! LOL My ceremony is at 7.30am, then I'll have to rush to the Miami Passport Agency (I already have an appointment), and beg for a same-day passport as I have an international flight leaving that very same day in the afternoon! LOL I have checked already, and read about other people's successful experiences. So yeah, it's going to be a VERY busy day! Still, looking forward to it and to being done!!!

Congrats! I am so glad to read you received yours too (we had very similar timelines).
And you were right too, we are closer to getting a US passport than the Green Card!

I know that this forum is for ROC, but just for those filling N400 at the same time I wanted to let you know that my status in my N400 changed today to
Oath Ceremony Notice Was Mailed
(I had my combined interview in San Diego exactly a month ago)

JimyAnita got a reaction from YafaUSA in I-751 November 2016 Filers
Officers know very little, even Tier 2. I called at least 3 times and they gave me the same or LESS information that what we can see online. Funny enough, I was told a similar thing last time, that the estimated time for ROC today was 17-19 months, however a couple of days later I got the approved status and then the letter in the mail. I filled N400, I had my interview on April, and while I passed the test, N400 was contingent on the I751. I got a status saying that my N400 was approved BEFORE I got the approved status for my I751 (that's when I called them, to see if it was a glitch and funny enough they said that yeah, it was probably a glitch cause I can't have an approved N400 without having the ROC approved). In fact, I just posted and I had the "your case was transferred" and I even received the letter in the mails saying it was transferred to the NBC, however... just a few days later, less than a week later, like I said, I got my approval. So think positive, everything will get done soon. I know it's frustrating, but don't trust too much the system status or even the officers on the phone. You are almost there.

yes, it feels so close but not insight... always tell myself, it is not over until it is over...

No, not yet.
I'm also expecting not to receive the GC before I become a citizen, or maybe that's just my wishful thinking! LOL
I'll keep you posted, hopefully by the end of next week both of us will have a scheduled ceremony to put down on the calendar.

Hi,
Glad to hear your good news. It looks like your cases got approved pretty soon after you had interview on 4/3/2018? So when did your online status change to "card is in production"?

For sure! Thought that was bizarre!
Meanwhile I went to my local field office today to see if they could schedule me for tomorrow's oath ceremony, but I was told they could not, so I will most likely have to come back early from a trip to Europe in order to attend a May ceremony...It could be worse though, I could still be waiting, so yeah, I'm not complaining!

As a USPS clerk I can answer your question easily. Certified mail is not bad or good. It simply means it's a peice of mail that you need to sign to receive it. If you don't pick it up it'll be returned to sender in 15 days from attempted delivery. Also I've never heard of uscis sending a certified letter before. Green cards usually come in special Priority mail envelopes. Even if uscis is mailing you with a RFE it's never certified.

Usually the green card is delivered in certified mail, at least mine was after ROC. So, it may not be bad news after all. Hope everything works out for you and please let us know what you found from post office.

I checked the site and got the same 'case transferred to local office' message.
Then last Sunday I realized that I hadn't checked for the mail the day before... amongst the envelopes was a letter from USCIS
I imagined that it was going to be a confirmation of that online message, but no!
There under my name and address was the sentence "Congratulations! Your request for the removal of the conditional basis of your permanent resident status has been approved."
I must admit, with the "!" in that sentence, I honestly thought it was an elaborate hoax haha
Received date 11/07/16
Notice date 04/10/18
I thought I would share this just to let everyone else know that the "local office" message doesn't mean that you have been forgotten!
Now I need to go read up about the N400 paperwork - scary? exciting!
Happy Monday everyone!

Welcome to the club!
My field office is telling me that they have my ROC file but that they're having IT issues (since March 12...yeah, right!) and that therefore they can't approve my I-751 even if I already had BOTH interviews and was recommended for approval! LOL
Tier 2 officer, on the other hand, told me my case is still at CSC. Go figure!
