  1. Yes, I had taken notice of your info on the spreedsheet and wondered. I though I've been getting the raw end of the deal with my wait periods each time but you beat me at 100 days, that's for sure.

Can I ask another question, how long after you filed your I-130 did your case get sent to the NVC? USCIS had my I-130 in Nov/2013 and I waited almost 9 months to be approved and NVC to assign me a case no.

    Congrats on the CC!

    I-130/Nov.2013

    SD/April 9

Thank you! Don't worry you'll hear from NVC very soon, you're almost there.

But wow 9 months at USCIS? You beat me there! Sorry it took them that long. I only spent 7.5 months at USCIS stage. Now I feel much more humble.

Edit: so to answer your question, I'm a March 2014 filer, and I-130 was approved at the end of October 2014

What does it mean/indicate when you say AP? I'm guessing it means Administrative Processing but wondered exactly what happens if a file is in AP status? Does it indicate something regarding ones petition?

I was told there are several reasons that could cause AP. It could be totally non-related to you. But like Ariani said, it's a mystery.

I'm guessing in my case, there aren't many applicants from the middle east, so the NVC staff is not used to documents from that area, and they have to spend more time.

  2. :)

Do you remember when you said to me that I'm becoming the statistic guy? Well how about these apples-- this tool is 90% accurate at predicting the CC of over 95% users.

Lol, yes I remember that. Looks like you're having fun with statistics, for the benefit of others too :) Nice work really, and thanks for your effort ariani.

Even though it took me 100 days, I think it's still accurate because I went to AP, so that's an outside factor.

  3. You're welcome :)

OMG v4b CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Better now then never... WOO HOO. Do you know what changed? Why did you go straight to AP? You may want to ask the embassy for an expedite

Thanks buddy! Congrats for your CC a few days ago.

I had no idea what was going on, but yesterday the last supervisor I talked to explained things to me, he said that we came out of AP on March 26th, so we should wait 45 days after that. So I guess for NVC my real scan date is 3/26.

But why AP? I have no idea. Anyway, I'm glad we're done, no more calling NVC everyday.

Edit: good point regarding the expedite, I'll definitely ask the embassy. Thanks!

  4. Hello wonderful VJ community. It's been a while since I have posted here.

You might know me from the spreadsheet, I'm the legendary "v4b" who has a scan date of 1/12/15.

Well, today (4/22/15) I got CC, after 100 days. I'm so happy because I got CC, I'm also happy because I broke the previous record (99 days) held by the respectable Ash2026.

Please update my info on the spreadsheet, and please, no need to add a note next to my name that says I'm a legend, okay well if you insist that's fine :P

  5. Yes, I am in AP. I'm still at NVC too. How long have you been in AP?

I called last night, and talked to someone nicer. He said it is just checking the paperwork, not security checks. Does your status show AP on ceac.state.gov?

I've been in AP since March 9th, and my status doesn't show AP.

Wow they gave you a lot of info, seriously! I'm surprised they told you it's paperwork not security. I talked to a couple of supervisors, and they absolutely refused to give me any information other than "no timeframe."

But that's good news it's just paperwork checking. It seems like AP at the NVC stage is a new trend.

  6. :ranting::protest::ranting::protest::ranting::protest: Dirty BASTARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They put me in AP with NVC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They put me on AP too!

Edit: Are you at the embassy stage?

I'm still at the NVC stage, and they already put me in AP.

  7. I just got done speaking to a representative "nvc" she was very kind and sweet!!!!! First time ever!!!!! I told her my case has been there since 1-14-2015 and I haven't received anything yet. She said yeah we apologize our system was down for quite while for electronic processing, we apologize for that. She took both information on both of my cases, and wrote a note for the supervisor to look at it since its not been reviewed yet, she also said to call back in a week or two for an update. So here we go another 2 more weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A week or two, they say it so easily.

    I'm calling them everyday.

  8. I agree I think your politicians can help a lot in your case. On the bright side, they're not telling you that your case is in AP with no timeframe whatsoever. That's what NVC is doing to me, they put my case on AP and they said the 60-day limit does not apply to me, I almost have no hope anymore. I hope your's goes smoother, but please do contact a politician, it's not as hard as it sounds. Good luck!

  9. God willing this person was right I think by the end of this week you will have great news. I look forward to being happy for you and knowing you on your way to freedom. God bless you my friend. (F) (L) (F)

I haven't seen this before and I would think you they at least tell you why. I suggest if you haven't already get your representative involved as soon as you can. Senator or Congress person I think your wait will be short if you do. I'll be praying this does not last long.

I am just heart broken at how they treat the citizens of the USA and all they can say is a Visa is not guaranteed, it should be if the person is clean and married for over two years, seriously who would be married for over two years if it isn't real. Sorry just venting I just have seen and felt so much sorrow that I can barely stand it anymore and what hurts the most is no one cares.

v4B, This just never ends, it just get's worse the longer I'm here. They shoot horses in less pain than I'm in and it just isn't fair.

Thanks for your kind words and advice, Soloenta, I will definitely do that. I'm going to figure out how to contact the politicians.

I can't imagine how you're feeling, your case is a lot more painful than mine. God helps you! I'm praying for you too, I hope it will be over and you never have to go through this again.

  10. That SUCKS. If it helps any, which I know it probably doesn't, the 60 day limit doesn't apply anymore. Day 63 and they're telling me not to expect news until at least next week. I'm so sorry. *hugs*

Thanks a lot Not a Tailor, sorry they're pushing you to next week :( Believe me next week or even two weeks is a big win, compared to AP, at least they're giving you estimates. Best of luck to you!

  11. They put me on administrative processing at the NVC stage, so the 60-day limit doesn't apply to me :\ As if 60 days was fair to begin with. NVC refused to give me a timeframe on when they can start reviewing my case, I'm really frustrated and distracted because of this.

I swear this is the worst experience in my life, I can probably go to jail or the dentist and feel happier than having to be at the NVC stage.

  12. So I want to start contacting my senator or congressman to complain about NVC. It's bad enough they make us wait 60 days, I tried to be positive and cooperate with them for 60 days, I only called them once to make sure they received my package, and on day #60 I called them again. Today is day 63, I called and they told me that the 60-day limit doesn't apply to me because I'm placed under Administrative Processing, they refused to give me any time frame on how long this AP takes. I think it's completely unfair.

I found this website which takes your zip codes and gives you the politicians in your area:

    http://www.contactingthecongress.org/cgi-bin/newseek.cgi

The website gave me these 3 names:

    Senator Dianne Feinstein (D- CA) 202-224-3841 202-228-3954 https://www.feinstein.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/e-m … Senator Barbara Boxer (D- CA) 202-224-3553 202-224-0454 https://www.boxer.senate.gov/contact/shareyourviews.h … Representative Scott Peters (D - 52) 202-225-0508 858-455-5516

    http://scottpeters.house.gov/contact/email-me

Do I contact all of them? I'm in San Diego, are there other politicians I should contact?

  13. I would call again and check on the status. It is possible that your case was selected to be reviewed by a specialty unit or a supervisor.

Thanks ariani. I will keep calling everyday, but I was told today that it has been under AP since March 9th, and they won't be able to review it until the AP is done.

That's very strange, and I can't find much info on it anywhere.

    So what's the specialty unit?

  14. So I called nvc yesterday since it will be 60 days for me today, I have noticed that a lot of people who had their scan date on January 14 or 15 or even 20 have gotten cc or at least a respond. The representative that I spoke was very rude, she was just reading what I have received from them when they sent me the scan date email. I was super polite to her. I told her " ma'am I already know that I want to know if there is anything new, lots of people have already received cc on their cases" and he respond was "I cannot discuss with you other people's cases" I told her I don't want you to, I just want to know i can get any update on my case and the stupid representative keeps telling me allow 60 days to review your case. I mean I don't get it was she stupid or just being a ###### with me. I am worried and sick of waiting . Hopefully I get something without checklists I really miss my parents, I'm petitioning for both of them on my own. I hope everyone who is waiting gets cc soon, and for those who got it Congrats so happy for yall.

I'm on the same boat, I called NVC on Friday, and the gentleman read the 60-day email to me and he told me that visajourney is "waaaaay inaccurate".

I'll keep calling them everyday and Monday I'll ask to talk to a supervisor.

Hopefully we'll all get CC's early next week, and you'll be reunited with your parents. Keep us posted, good luck!
