Interesting, I guess every field office is different. I got approved on the 26th last month and got my approval letter on the 4/30. You never received the approval letter either?
We received the approval letter - I think it was last Friday, the 4th?

Hi pikushi
When did you get your approval notice? I got it 2 weeks ago, and I am still waiting the GC.
We never got our "You're been approved", but our case was updated to "New card is being produced" on April 27th.
-
Just a quick update: I got a notification yesterday from USCIS, saying that they had mailed out my card. Hopefully, USPS will be good to us, and the card will be here in the next week!

Did you respond to your RFE? I got the physical letter on 04/17. My Lawyer is working on the case and hopefully will be sending it the week on 05/07
Yeah, I received our letter on 4/6 & sent our response on 4/9. They received it on on the 11th.

Just thought I would post the email I received this morning:
We're hoping we get a more useful email in the near future~~
-
Got the RFE email today. 😒 We will know more when we get the actual letter.
-
Just curious - has anyone in this group/thread received a RFE for their case?
It's been almost 16 months since CSC received our case - I can only imagine how hard my head would hit my desk if a RFE popped up in our mail now.

I have seen a lot of generalized comments in this thread, but it sounds like it would be best for you, OP, to take the issues that you have brought here to wife (again, if you have already done so) or a marriage counselor rather than this forum. It true that she may have just married you for the green card. It also may be true that she has personal reasons for her behavior.
From what you have written here, though, I truly recommend taking action and bringing these issues up before they possibly turn into resentment.

There is no update in this thread since Jan 12!
I'm interested to see more approval notifications from Oct 2016 filers! specially CSC filers, right now their responses percentage is 0%
Oh man, I wish we had more updates here, as well, but it looks like most of our VSC filers have already been approved, and CSC is still a way from getting to use. Maybe a month or two? I am keeping eye out on the September 2016 filing group until then.

Holy snail speed Batman! We got our NOA1 for 18th Oct, but still no biometic appointment. We called USCIS and got the typical half Yoda, and Mrs. Cleo replies to our questions. However in short they said "soon", "and wait longer". If we dont get a biometric appointment letter by end of the year for sure will need a Infopass.
Anyone else having the same delay for biometics?
It looks like you're in the wrong thread - this is October 2016 Filers, and I think you are looking for October 2017 Filers.
If it helps any, my husband's biometrics appointment letter didn't get to us pretty late, as well. I agree with what you wrote - I would recommend getting an infopass if you don't get it by the end of the month.

Just thought I would post for the sake of an update: my husband went in for his infopass appointment on 11/28 at the Chicago USCIS office. He received a 6 month renewal stamp, but his passport expires in 6 months, anyway, so it worked out.

my infopass appointment was on the 23rd of October 2017 , Chicago USCIS. I got my I-551 stamp though there was some delays as the system was down. I just checked the infopass appointment site , and there are appointments for the 28th of November 2017. I suggest trying after midnight.
Thanks, LRR. I was able to get one this morning (at around 8:30) for the 28th.

Has anyone in the Chicagoland area been able to get an infopass appointment at the Chicago USCIS office? My husband needs to get his I-551 stamp, but we haven't been able to find any open appointments in the past few weeks that we have been looking. I have tried right after midnight on a few different days as well as looking in the morning and afternoon. Any advice as to when the appointments appear on the site? (I have been looking at the Milwaukee office for the past couple of days, too, but no luck there, either.)

I woke up to a bit of a laugh from the myUSCIC - Case Status page.
I logged in this morning to do my daily (but probably unnecessary) check, and the "LAST UPDATED" date at the bottom had been changed from 10/18/2016 to 2/1/2017. I went whaaaaaaaat & clicked on my case number, but the same "My Fees Were Waived" page came up - so pretty much nothing changed. So I don't know if it is an error on the page, or someone really did touch our case in February & decided not to update the webpage until now? I'm going to take a wild guess & say it is an error in their system (just like the waived fees page).
Anyway, it gave me a bit of a laugh.

Hi all! So I called the USCIS last week, they told me that they were currently processing cases from June 2016! (I see on here though that some September are being approved... so who knows!) But my question is - is the 1-year extension letter from the date on your greencard?
I am trying to go home for the holidays and am wondering if it's worth me going to get a stamp now (within the next month) so I know I can definitely travel if my case hasn't been processed by December? Anyone got any insight?
Thanks in advance.
That is correct - the extension letter is good from the date on your green card, so it expires a year after your green card expired.

Hi,
I am a July 2017 filer they misspelled my last name as well. I want to know what did you do for them to correct it.
Thanks in advance.
Hi Eric & Idalia,
I'm sorry that this happened to you - it's kind of a pain. The green card holder needs to call the USCIS line, tell them what happened, and the representative can fix it in their system. Unfortunately, they won't give you a new letter - I was told I would need to get the I551 stamp (which we haven't done yet). When my husband went for his biometrics, he confirmed that his name had been fixed in their system. Good luck!

Hi everyone,
My husband is an CSC October 2016 filer. When we received the NOA, we noticed his name was spelled incorrectly, so we called USCIS & had it changed in their system. When I asked if we would be getting a new letter, I was told no & that we had to go get the passport stamp if he wanted to travel outside the country.
From what I've seen on this forum, it seems like the field offices are rather strict about the timing for giving out the I-551 stamp, so we were hoping that CSC would process his application, he would have his 10-year GC in a few months, and we wouldn't have to deal with the field office. Unfortunately, with the current slow down, we probably are going to have to get the I-551 stamp anyway when his 1 year extension expires.
What is your advice? Do you think it would be worth it to schedule an infopass now with the intention of getting the stamp due to the NOA misspelling & risk being turned away, or should we wait until 30 days prior to his extension expiration date & go then?
Does anyone have any experience going before the 30 days? Or even anyone with misspellings, errors, etc. on their NOA?
Thank you!

hI everyone - just checking. Does not look like everyone on this thread is Oct I-751 Filers. Those who are - any news for any of you? Last time I called they were still working on June 2016 filings. Planning on calling again this week. Just want to make sure I'm not all alone here the only one thats not heard anything. Thanks so much! :-)
Unfortunately, no news yet.
Hopefully, both CSC & VSC will start picking up somewhat soon.

Anyone else still waiting for the Biometrics letter?
I put in a service request earlier this week, and now I have to sit on my hands/twiddle my thumbs for the next 15-30 days while we wait.
Anyone in the same boat?

A quick update regarding my earlier post & a question!
We were finally able to get on the phone with someone to correct for my husband's name - half way through the call, we also realized that the zip code on our address was incorrect, as well!
After (hopefully) getting everything fixed, we asked if we would be getting a new I-797, but we were told no and that we would have to get my husband's passport stamped at their local office.
Does anyone know exactly what she would mean by "local office"? Our local USCIS office? Possibly the local office where we will get his biometrics done?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

My husband received his NOA1 today (10/24!
...Unfortunately, they spelled his last name wrong.
Anyone have any suggestions regarding what to do?

Hi, everyone! It has been a (somewhat) peaceful two years since my husband received his green card, but now we are back at VisaJourney, getting the conditions removed. I sent the packet to the California Service Center yesterday (10/17). Fingers crossed for no problems!
