eieio reacted to The Nature Boy in Evidence suggests a massive scandal is brewing at the FBI
So what we know is that a fake dossier, paid for by the democrats was used by our FBI and DOJ to obtain the rights to eavesdrop on the campaign of a Presidential candidate, and they leaked the document to News agencies. worse than Watergate

Economy to grow at 5.4% rate in first quarter, Atlanta Fed tracker shows
The Atlanta Fed updated its rolling look at the U.S. economy, projecting that GDP would grow 5.4 percent in the first quarter.
If the forecast holds, it would be the strongest quarter since the economic recovery began and would more than double the typical annualized growth during the period.

Sowing the bitter seeds of discontentment is really all the Democratic party has left. Take away the minority base and they are history.
They can't attack him on policy , becuse the country is in better shape across the board and within every demographic.
So what you got left is .Racist and Russian.
Even one of our more TDS infected members admired it the other day

Don't let this interrupt the current dialogue, but here's a well-expressed take about the SOTU speech and some ideas about the Democrats' response during it:

Isn't this how Michigan State and USA gymnastics tried to handle the Larry Nasser issue? It didn't turn out too well for them at this point, and although it is not a perfect analogy, it appears that when large organizations try to "fix" things quietly in house, the issues tend to blow up in their faces. Certainly we do not know what is in the memo, but I think it is safe to say it is not damaging to Trump since the Dems are all for keeping it under wraps. My understanding is the Nunes already met with Wray this past weekend, so I think the FBI has already weighed in. I am still of the opinion that these behemoth bureaucratic organizations need to be accountable to the people that are paying them. Generally, this is done via our elected representatives and specifically the House. If those reps feel there is a need to hear what is going on, it should be so. Like I said earlier, there appears to be two memos, the one we are discussing and one written by the Democrat staffers. They should release both of them.

I am loving this, "the FBI has grave concerns", GOP senators saying not to release it. What are they hiding, and why won't the elected representatives of the people do their jobs? The media and the DNC are doing everything they can to discredit this thing before it comes out (apparently, this memo does not hit Trump otherwise the Dems would have leaked it already). Schiff's new accusation is that it has been modified, so of course the vote to release it is null and void (I heard that the Dems on the committee asked for the modifications). What are they hiding, and why not work at draining the swamp some more. The DOJ and the FBI are not a world of their own, they should be held accountable period if there are issues, and it is time these issues should see the light of day (again, if present). I am just amazed that this is not a bi-partisan effort.

That is the surprising thing. I thought the media's job was to expose government malfeasance, you know, the whole 4th estate and such, but the biased outlets are doing everything they can to promote the DNC talking points regarding the memo.

The mainstream media haven't seen the memo and are already soundly & roundly trashing it.

Trump is so far from a political dynasty its not even debatable. Trump and his family are once in a lifetime national treasures that we are blessed to have.

I hate explaining jokes. Means I failed or something. You are what you are. If you identify as something else….you have mental issues.
I guess you have missed the feminists agenda. Everything is the white males fault. But….maybe they are Republican voters??

We have that in some congressional districts in Michigan. John Dingall retires, and his wife Debbie takes over. We pretty much expect the same thing for John Conyers vacant seat with either his son or nephew taking over. Fortunately for the folks of Conyers district, his wife has already been convicted of corruption.

It’s not....but to many democrats out there....they hate white males. That’s what funny about it. Although...there is no denying a Kennedy is not privileged and he is white.....but you never know what he identifies as. He might identify as a poor gay black woman.

It was an awesome speech. The kicker was the democrats all sat there pouting. Plus they got a white guy with mega privilege do the response. The only thing that could have been better is if a couple of democrats heads exploded and started on fire.

I think we agree on more things than we both think, there are just certain things we disagree on strongly. You are a very prolific "thread starter" of Pro-Trump articles, I think in large part because you like to try to get a rise out of people. I try my best to stay more moderated in my response to things (good and bad), but I can get heated sometimes I admit.
I'm trying to strike a better balance moving forward in my life (New Years resolution I guess?).

I didn't actually watch it myself, though I actually can't remember the last SOTU that I have actually watched live. I'll usually either watch it later, or read a transcript. I've never been one to specifically go out of my way to catch a politician speaking on pretty much any topic. The only big "speech" event that we consistently watch in our household is The Queen's Christmas Address. That just gives you warm fuzzies
From the transcript the speech had everything you would expect. A positive message, reports of positive change, personal examples of people that they brought to the speech to produce warm feelings. I wouldn't have expected any less. Obviously he took his fair share of "I want credit for things that I didn't have anything to do with", which again is exactly as expected. Did he exaggerate a lot of things? Of course he did, but again that is always present in these speeches. No President stands up in front of all of Congress and says "We did pretty good. We've enacted changes that were pretty big, not the biggest, but pretty big.". They all exaggerate and take credit for things.
These speeches are nice, but as others have suggested I'd still prefer a lot more consistency from our President. If he wants to call for cooperation, finding common ground etc that has to be something that is actually done, and not just talked about in a big speech. I still think he needs to stop the personal attacks and rebuttals on twitter. He needs to take the high road. If people want to be negative just ignore them. He is the President now, and should be above that. It's like he has split personalities and I would overall have a much higher approval of him if he just stuck to his "Speech Making Persona" and dropped the "Campaigning persona" and the "Twitter persona". I realize that is hard for him because those likely help him maintain support in his base, but I don't think they help him attract more moderate people.
I'll openly admit that for me things are overall better now than I had expected they would be 1 year ago (not just for me personally but for the country as a whole). I was never one of the people claiming complete "doom and gloom", and I do remember saying even the day after he was elected that if anything was going to go well, it would be the economy. I do think it was rather two-faced for members of the audience to be silent during purely objective improvements in our economy (the unemployment rates for African Americans). It doesn't matter who is in office, or how much you dislike him, that is still good news and should be welcomed. The economy is thriving, and that is a good thing. Yes I think you could question how much Trump is responsible for that, but I don't really care about who gets credit for it. I just care about the results.
Of course there are things in the speech I disagree with, and there are many things I disagree with the President about. That won't change. I find the issues of "Religious Liberty" mostly two-faced. I find most of those issues have absolutely nothing to do with freedom of religion, but just attempts to morally dictate to people who have a difference of opinion. I don't see the repeal of the individual mandate as a good thing, especially without a full rehash of the healthcare system. I think that should have been left out of the tax reform and saved for a true healthcare reform bill. I'm also hopeful (maybe ignorantly) for some cooperation on the immigration front. Trump's plan involving granting a path for DACA recipients in exchange for funding and immigration reform is actually a good starting place, in my opinion. I hope more negotiation (friendly negotiation) will come from that.
Sorry that was a little long winded...especially for someone who didn't actually watch it. Pretty standard for my posts though I guess
