  1. You do know all people are not alike, right?

I am well aware of that. I can only speak in general terms as individuals within each race or group is different.

Everything is generally...you know, the average.

    Some races are taller.

    Some are shorter.

    Some are more athletic.

    Some are more intelligent.

    Some are fatter.

    Some work harder.

Some have proven to be better employees.

Its not that hard to figure out. Employers want people who make good employees( i.e....make them money...thats why they are in business)

  2. employers on the whole prefer to hire white felons over black men with no criminal record.

    Why is that? Previous experience?

I'm fine with the term hate crime

Another joke. Maybe they need a love crime? Would that be more or less serious? Maybe a reduced sentence for love crimes? You know the kind of crime where you shot someone but you said nice things to them or didn't say anything at all? Or if you killed someone from your own race...maybe that could be a love crime with a lighter sentence.

  3. When some people hear "guns" they lose their minds.

I remember when the conceal carry laws were being enacted and these same people lost their minds then. All kinds of horror stories were told (more like lies when I think about it)

Anyways the people who lost their minds then were predicting and some even hoping all hell would break loose. What changed.....almost nothing....except many people have a better sense of self-defense.

People who hate guns will always hate them and make up lies.

  4. Robert,

I think you have seen the worst...well almost....next she will have an affair......but after that things will change for the better. Then you will be able to have a happy marriage. She sounds normal, but just needs to get some life experience in. Give her time, forgive her and always praise her...no matter what she does.

Eventually your love will grow back to where it was when you met.

    Never give up.

  5. How is the government influencing or - as you previously put it - guiding the news in this country? All news? Some news? If some, which specifically? Try and be specific. Or is that asked too much?

It is to much for him. What he is trying to say is that Russia/USA news is the same. It is not. The Russian government shuts down news channels that provide news that the government does not want people to know.

  6. It would seem logical that the series follow the couples from the first season. Or maybe that could get too reality-ish.

They might, but they would have continued to film after the 90 days. It only stands to reason that the first year of a couple would be the most difficult and it would also be when misunderstandings happen more frequently. Without drama....reality shows just have no appeal (or much less). Who is to blame......all of us :secret:

MTVs Real World is one of the longest running and most successful reality show. They bring in new housemates every season. Of coarse they search far and wide for the type of personalities that are most likely to produce "video worthy footage"

  7. I assume eieio means attention seekers or people seeking to further or launch their entertainment careers.

Exactly. I thought I had answered yesterday. I must not have hit the Post right

Edit to add that it appears I need to hit the Post "button" twice.

  8. As far as the person PMing people here, I don't want to out this person's name on here but she's also on the facebook forums asking people about submitting their personal stories for the series. Be wary if you're in those communities, too.

I made the sorry mistake of watching the first episode plus some webisodes on TLC's site. I don't even know what to say. This portrays our whole fight and the whole process as a joke. TLC is garbage. There is nothing about "Learning" at TLC anymore. This makes me sad.

I don't know whether they are actors or not. I suspect they are since the Russian girl's English is far too good. As for the webisodes, they are about "Len" and "Alina" and I guess they're not included in the episodes because he ended up cancelling the K-1 visa.

That show just makes a mockery out of the whole system and out of what we all have to go through - whether we're K-1 or CR-1 / IR-1 filers.

I disagree. I liked the show. It may have target less aquatinted couples, but this is the reality for thousands of relationships that go through the visa process. The show had basically less than one hour to cover each couple(10-12 minutes per show). What do they show on TV? Of coarse they show the more interesting moments and try to create a "cliffhanger" But....anybody who has watched any amount of TV knows this.

If the ratings were good enough...there will be a second season or whatever. Plus...everyone is aware of the type of persons that would agree to this type of show.

  9. The first agent you speak with will not know any specifics about your case. What the agent will do is simply read what is on the screen (the same screen we're looking at when we check our case status online). When you get the agent on the phone, feign ignorance about your case. "I just got three e-mails about my case being transferred and I'm really confused". The agent will read the screen, at which point you can say "So where did my case go? Why is it going to the local office? I've never heard of I-130s going to the local office? Is there something wrong with my file?" The agent will likely re-read the screen. At this point, simply request to be transferred to a Tier 2 agent who can provide more specifics on your case.

If the agent you're speaking to is a jerk face and won't transfer you, hang up and try again smile.png

Once you're transferred, you'll get an obnoxious hold time, you can request a call back - there's a prompt that will walk you through that process. The Tier 2 agent will call you back. Start the same conversation again "I'm confused, where's my case going. I keep getting e-mails that my case is being transferred. Is there something wrong". The agent should let you know where it went.

I know you are just trying to be helpful....but IMO this advice about calling to see where your file went is counterproductive. The more time they spend on answering frivolous phone calls just means the less time they can actually work on the petitions. On top of that knowing where your petition was send does not matter. You cannot change it.

I am sure many will disagree, but we all want to be approved as quickly as possible. Why slow it down?

  10. Thanks to all for sharing their journeys. I filed in Sept. However, I have been reading on VJ everyday since last July. Threads like this are one reason I believe my wife and I are doing ok for now. I sent her quotes about how things become so frustrating for many. I wanted us to be prepared for this frustration and anger.

For me I believe the most frustrating part will be seeing others approved that filed months after us. It is just so unfair. I see it as being standing in line and people just keep budging in front of you. They get to go in and you are still standing there. Each day this happens and there is nothing you can do.
