For the 3 of you still waiting to interview, here’s how ours went today. Johan has a pending I751, so our interviewer began with that. We brought the box of ALL the papers we’ve ever filed, plus the papers we put together as updated documentation since filing in May 2017. She only really asked to see tax records for 3 years and joint accounts proof (we had em). I actually bombarded her with stuff she didn’t ask for. 😂 She said she believed we have a legit relationship, she just had to do one more background check through some database, and then it’ll be approved.

Then onto the N400. She asked my husband if he wanted me to stay. He said yes please. (He was nervous). She started going through his application online, and he asked her if he could do the questions first to get them out of the way. She complied. His questions were:

name one war fought in the 1800’s

who was president during the depression and WW2?

name one state that borders Mexico

Who is the father of our country?

who is our state’s current governor?

who is the Vice President?

Interestingly, he said War of 1812, and she was sorta caught off guard by this. She said something along the lines of, “also known as...?” We were like, “huh?” Then he said “the Civil war?” And that’s what she put in the system. 😂😂😂 I guess civil war is most answered. 🤷‍♀️

Because his green card had been pending for 27 months (!!!), he had to fill out paperwork to take to the oath ceremony. She acted like it’s a done deal; “next oath ceremony is August 22nd,” etc, but it’s still pending approval based on the I751! Grrrrr She said the system *should* be updated by tomorrow. We shall see. So one of 2 things will happen: he’ll take his oath next month or we start making plans to relocate back to Ireland. 😂😂😂.

Congratulations! Johan's interview for his N-400 is on Saturday, July 27th. There's zero mention of it being a combo interview, but we're preparing for it to be both anyway.

Headed to Europe tomorrow. Looks like May and June people are getting appts at Chatsworth. One guy in the May N400 group got his notification on June 4, and his is the 24th. So looks like I'll be in the clear and won't have to fly home, pronto! Congrats again! I'm excited for you.

Woohoo! Chatsworth is finally moving! I see you put in your "in line" date. Where did you get that? Congrats!! I leave TOMORROW for 2 and a half weeks. Still no interview scheduled, but judging by your info, I am probably in the clear to be there for the combo interview for my husband. ❤️

I wanted to add, if others from the Chatsworth office can chime in and give some feedback on time between appt notification and actual appt, I'd appreciate it. I leave next Thursday for Europe, and since green card is also still pending, I HAVE TO BE at the interview as well. It'd be nice to know if a month+- is the norm for time to wait once you've all be notified.

You're truly blessed. Husband's green card renewal application (still pending): May 2017(!!!). Citizenship application: June 2018. Chatsworth office also. I can't even tell him about cases like yours; it makes him mad that there seems to be no rhyme or reason to how it works. I guess our file is sitting somewhere in a box in a coat closet. 😕

But I'm happy that you're just about done, truly.

I applied on January 10th this year and had biometrics on January 18th. My local office is Chatsworth, San Fernando Valley, CA.

my hope is that the countdown ended on a Sunday, so they will fix it. The stress of waiting is starting to take its toll, as I'm supposed to fly to Europe in 10 days.

I had my interview in Houston on Friday 5/31 at 730am. I got there at 7am checked in and was asked to wait. My name was called at around 8am and I met the officer who walked me back to her office. I was asked to remain standing and pledge that I will only speak the truth.

Once that was complete, the officer went right into civics questions. I got the first 6 correct (questions included: which ocean is to the east of US, who is the commander in Chief, which month do we vote for the president, name two rights in Declaration of Independence, what is the capital of us and which territory did the us purchase from France). She then went on to test my English reading and writing skills - which was pretty straightforward. She made notes on her screen and then asked me if I was current on taxes and if my address has changed. In my case, there were no changes at all. Then she went through the Yes/No questions and told me that I have passed the test and she will approve my N400 case. She gave me two documents, one that indicated that I had passed and second that had details about oath ceremony. At the time the officer did not commit to the oath ceremony date. She mentioned that it could be between a month or three before it happens. I then got up, shook her hands and thanked her. She escorted me out of her office and I was done.

On the egov and my Uscis website, the status of my case had changed to Oath will be scheduled. I hope that I can get into the June 19th ceremony. If not it will be July.

I will keep my status posted on here as I go through the final stage gate. I also thank folks for sharing their stories and making it easier for people going through the naturalization process.

Also, if someone can update my timeline, I’d be grateful. Interview complete on May 31, 2019. Oath TBD.

Congratulations! I bet you feel better knowing it’s just one more hurdle. Our wait time expired today. Instead of it saying “0 days,” it says what’s pictured below. 😐 Story of our uscis lives. 😫

I've never seen this be an issue. I know that countries like Ireland count days, but based on the N-400 application, the US doesn't.
