End of my journey!
I swore in this afternoon along with 1,094 more folks, and I became American citizen. Massive but well organized oath ceremony. As I foresaw a very very long line to applying for the passport.

It was just the N-400 interview based on the 3-year-marriage rule. 
My I-751 was approved a few days later. 
The interview was very relaxed and easy. I just brought 2017 IRS transcripts and gave it to the IO. Aside from that, I brought my original papers (specifically lease agreements, insurance and bank statements). I did not brought any personal information such as pictures, past/future travel itineraries or emails. My personal questions were based on the N-400 form. The civic test was extremely simple (6 easy questions).
As far as the English test concerns,  the written portion was for kindergarten kids. "Please write the following: "Colombus Day is in October""
The speaking portion was evaluated by the officer as per my responses to his questionnaire. 
Very smooth process.
 

My I-751 case was approved as of May 10, and I received the hard copy yesterday.
Apparently, they are going to send me a new 10 year green card. I already did the N-400 interview and I am waiting for my oath ceremony date.
Honestly, I do not understand. I thought I was never going to have a new green card since I am almost done with the citizenship process....

I never was in line (or was aware of it).
After biometrics appointment I always had the status "We reviewed your biometrics" or "We are actively reviewing your case", until yesterday.
I filed a service request for my I-751 case in late January, but never heard back from them. I also contacted my senator a week ago. 
But I don´t think she has anything to do with scheduling the interview. I think it was in the way.....,

I have just filed an e-request for the same purpose. You should state the first WAC# you got for your NOA1. The second one (biometrics  WAC#) does not work. I´ll keep everyone posted about their response (around Feb 22nd), but I guess they will consolidate my case along with my N-400 application as Zombie69 commented earlier. I guess I will get the same letter he posted....

Keep trying! It took me 10 days to get an appointment at Sf field office last Nivemeber. It is totally discouraging, I know, but hang in there. Try to get the appointment on early mornings like 5-6am,   or late at nights after midnight (1-2 am) also on weekends (very early in the mornings or late at nighttime too)

I am an online filer, and my status has not changed in almost 2 months (Sep 18, we reviewed your biometrics). I do not believe online filers are processed faster.
I think It depends on several factors:
1. Field office processing times according to its workload. (San Francisco office is backlogged - On average 11 months processing times)
2. Citizenship eligibility (I applied on my 90 day window period prior to my real date of eligibility Nov 29). It is reasonable that someone who filed N-400 later than me, but is already eligible, gets the "in line for interview" status -or the interview date- earlier, no matter the filing way he/she opted for.
3. Combo process with I-751. Feewise, it may seen illogical/unfair not having a green card after being fingerprinted and payed that much money, but in the long run the goal is to get the citizenship, and doing a combo process is  a way of resources optimization.
 
On the other hand, as long as we get the I-551 stamp to travel and work, we are still holding our permanent resident status. I would be really worry if I did not get it when I need it. As far as the N-400 concerns, although the await is tedious, long and sometimes frustrating, I see no problem at all, because my status remains the same than 3 years ago, with no restrictions. Legit personal motivation, as your own special situation for your husband´s age, is totally understandable.

If you legally comply with the 3-year period to gain citizenship, why do we have to wait longer because of USCIS incompetency? It is on their end to effectively process applications, -something they are not doing- as well as to approve (or not) files according to  true, authentic facts supported in verifiable documents. Beyond that point, they cannot accuse me of applying for N400  illegally or inappropriately. The burden of the proof is on them. If they do not approve i-751 form prior to my eligibility to applying N400, they, and only they, are guilty for this situation. My punishment for their sloppiness is to wait (fine, I am already here with my spouse, it is not that terrible!), but I am not going to stop my timeline for it. I am still paying taxes and outrageously expensive fees for the applications. Moreover, it is my right, and I am going to make use of it. I will be also applying for citizenship when i am eligible to do so, regardless my I-751 status.

She might have lost her passport but not her nationality. I agree with other vj surfers. She is a Spaniard citizen.
If she is in Spain, what I would do is the following:
1. Get an updated birth certificate there in Spain
2. Go with it and her expired passport (and if she has her expired DNI - ID card- I would bring it too) to the Police Documents Branch (see links below)
3. Apply for a new passport
The Spanish law must guarantee her nationality under any circumstances.

Once I arrived to JFK, I proceeded to a first immigrants room where I waited for the officer to finish a 4 members family paperwork.
When it was my turn (after ten minutes waiting), it went really fast.
The officer did the paperwork only in 10 minutes. He took my fingerprints, picture and signature for the GC very quickly and stamped my passport without asking anything regarding either the money I carried or if I was bringing any food...
The easiest experience ever!!
I still had plenty of time to catch my connection flight to SFO.

My POE will be New York (JFK) in layover to San Francisco. I have 3 hours before taking my connection flight to SFO...Is that enough?
Any information about how long CBP people take there?

Everything went smoothly. The easiest experience ever!!!
