Was able to get some information from the consulate:
    Dear Sir/Madam,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

A new passport with the beneficiary’s married name is not required for her immigrant visa interview. The beneficiary may wish to talk to USCIS when she fills out the application for her green card to change the name accordingly.
Sounds like it's option two that NLR stated. I'm hoping its just a matter of filling out the form accordingly states side, and not a huge fee involved.

For myself, it took some serious google scouring to finally find this. Downloading the hangouts backup is easy, but I was all over the place trying to find something that made formatting the json file google provides easier. This guy's done it and I was able to get a years worth of chat logs onto about 70 pages front and back. What's nice is you can just download the .txt and avoid all the photos.

They didn't look at anything that the appointment letter said they had already received. There will be that list( on your appointment letter ) with the letters that designate what they have and don't have. Didn't look at my birth certificate, didn't need any english translations of any documents. In addition to what you mentioned they did look at the original marriage cert. My original I-130 was pretty loaded with photos and signed affidavits from friends and family. Sent a lot of tax and wage info to the NVC as well. I didn't have my taxes for 2014 as I've been in Vietnam since February and got an extension. They didn't ask about them.
Good luck on your interview! I'm sure it'll go smoothly.

For me, it took NVC a little more than 2 months after they received my support papers to case complete. (no RFEs), for myself and obrakeo, it took a little more than 3 months for the interview after CC.

    Well, we're done! Finally.
Overall took about 3-4 hours. Arrived around 7:00 AM for the 7:30AM appointment, which from other reviews you'll realize this has absolutely no meaning. The interviews seem completely random. Anywho, about 5 minutes outside, 10 mins in the 'holding tank?', probably 30-40 minutes to get the fingerprints done. Lucky for me I was able to go sit down, my wife had to do the tetris shuffle as they pack everyone into the queue. Really though, its a much needed lesson in waiting your turn that a lot of Vietnamese need. Another 40ish minutes watching random numbers called to submit paperwork. And then a good 2 hours sitting around watching interviews take place while waiting.
I went up with my wife and was not sent away for the entire interview. The entirety of it lasting all of 3-4 minutes. We had a woman interviewer and she was very friendly and seemed to make an effort to make my wife comfortable. She asked the basics. How we met, what's my job, where do I live, how many people in our wedding, who from my family participated. She asked to see a few photos, and chuckled at some of the goofier ones I personally wanted to submit. I think my wife was a little disappointed that all the work she put in gathering evidence didn't see the light of day.

obrakeo got a reaction from luukee in interview scheduled - couple of questions
I can't remember where I read it, but I believe it's 1-2 weeks to receive the visa. Although I think I've read in the forums that some folks have gotten theirs in a few days. Looking at the trends of CC to interview date, I'm gonna assume 7 days minimum.

We called IOM and they asked for our interview date which might factor in to when you can schedule? I think we were scheduled about a week out from when we called ( appt. the 21st of April ). Went and got everything done in one day and they said we could leave our results there at the clinic until we return for our interview ( Not living in HCMC ). Only weird thing at IOM was that they seem to call an audible on the photo size. The instructions specify US passport dimensions 2" x 2", which everyone there brought, but then they made everyone cut theirs down with a little plastic template chip. Print out a couple of your interview invitation letters as IOM kept ours but said we needed to provide another copy to the vaccine place.

+1 on call to schedule. We did it at IOM and wrapped up the exam and vaccines in about 4 hours.

For the immigrant the process is a wild ride of emotions with a seeming Pandora's box of events that never end. During that its Asian style to get a lot of those " experts " helping. The motive for some of that is questionable anyway.
Many experience this including me to some extent. I also had the " help " from people but I had my husband in Thailand most of the time.
My suggestion to calm her is to explain that the drama is in the processes not the interview really. Her confidence should come from the unusual strength of the case in an area ( relationship ) where many have problems due to weak ties to each other. There isn't any need to fear the interview from what I can see. Mine was easy & so should hers be.

No problem, here is the actual text from the document you should be receiving via email with some stuff changed of course:
March 24, 2015 Dear BENEFICIARY, The National Visa Center (NVC) completed the domestic pre-processing of the immigrant visa petition HCM2014###### filed by PETITIONER on behalf of BENEFICIARY. The NVC will now forward the petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM for a visa interview. This letter serves as formal notification of the visa interview. SAVE this letter and present it to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate guard/receptionist at the time of the interview. So a printout of this document should be all you need I'd assume. I'm in Nha Trang. Was just chatting with my wife about that bakery and she is familiar with it. She attended university in Saigon. Heading there next week for medical so I'll try and stop by to pick up some Banh Bao Nuong. After I pick up what I consider the best pizza on the planet in the Japanese area of district 1 at Pizza 4P of course, haha.

    Howdy Luukee,
I've actually been in Vietnam since mid Feb. No physical packet yet but they did send a PDF of the invitation letter. From what I've read I can print that out and get medical and vaccines taken care of. They are supposed to send the physical letter to your spouse in Vietnam though, yeah.

For HCMC I had a CC on Feb 5th and did not receive my interview date until Mar 25th ( via email ), with the interview not scheduled until May 11th. 3 Month gap for me. Hope HCMC speeds up and you can move quicker.

Yeah, I had the same experience reading through reviews. I'm not going to overload with the photos and chat logs.
Looks like you are close to 1 month behind me in your timeline. I'll bet you get CC within the next couple weeks if all your paperwork is good!

I can attest to this as well. I recently posted asking about B-2 visa's and got a response that was deleted. I'll assume by the moderators.
"Your future wife WILL get that Tourist Visa! Piece of cake..........................................................
if both you and she live in UTOPIA
Seriously, are you kidding us? What are you smoking? If she can get the tourist visa just like that, why would Vietnamese engage in marital frauds to get here? Keep dreaming buddy!"
Whats that four fold path? Show up, tell the truth, pay attention and don't be attached to the results. Seems like good advice in these situations.
I feel like I have to constantly rebut misinformation and general fear mongering my wife is subject to. Sure there is fraud, but if you're not engaged in it, don't even let it cross your mind.
