Have you checked what CEAC says about your visa?
Administrative Processing since i got out the embassy.
-
Dont stress. Give them the information they require ASAP. Keeping the passport is a good thing at this time. Just give them the info,,,,,,,,,,Hurry
We did few hours after the interview. My fiance email them with what they asked. :/ i soooooo worry...
-
On my interview i got 221g and asked me to email them the address of my brother and the address of my fiance s brother cause they live on the same state. Thats their problem.
They kept my passport. I sent the email with what the asked. But i really dont know what the 221g means. Is a denial? Cause it says something about a year. We are soooooo confused.

I strongly suggest stepping away from this site for a few days. Take a break from it all. Spend some time with friends and do some activities that have nothing to do with visas and immigration. You've sent the embassy the information. All you can really do is wait until your CEAC status changes. It might take them only a few days or a week or two before your status changes to Issued. Not sure what the average time-frame is for those going through the Greek embassy. Once it says Issued, then your visa will be in-hand before you know it and all this stress and fretting will seem like a horrible dream.
I think u are right!! I must stay away from this site and relax me and my fiance. We really need it. Plus I'm over reacting and talk bad!! Thats not me...
thank u for the precious advice!
-
No, I was just asking. But I take note you are avoiding answering the question.
Good luck to you.
I cant go through the same again. I did yesterday!! It's so painful for me to have someone think the same bad way as the consular. Sorry but i wont do that. U dont help. And right now im so devasteted. And i feel like u are trying to piss me more. Maybe u dont. But I'm not on a good mood and this is how i feel when i read ur post.

Don't let this experience rattle you. They are not your friend or family there who have to treat you nicely. COs have a very tough job trying to figure out right from wrong and genuine from fraud. As everyone is saying, look at the bright side. If your relationship is genuine, you will get the visa, get back with your fiance in the US and have that nice wedding you dreamed of.
Life is not easy always, but you don't need to lose heart. If you don't have anywhere to live in Greece and have no job or support, why don't you ask your fiance or brother to help you out for a while till you get back on your feet ?
My fiance is the one that supports me and sends me few money per month. To pay for phone bill and food. I show them the transactions from paypal. Probably they will think that i have my fiance to just take his money.
Whatever i say or do it seems like they will use it against me..
No hope!!!

Online is a big place. What site did you meet on? How is it that he lives in the same state as your brother?
Seriusly now?
When i met my fiance i had no idea about his family. His family lives in md as my brother, my fiance lives in miami.
So u believe too that i tried to meet my now fiance cause he has family on maryland?
-
Yes, Greece! With their economy lots of people are dying to leave.
We are in the E.E. If we want to leave greece cause of crisis we go everywhere in Europe without visa. We can travel and stay there as long as we want.. Work study do whatever we want. We wont immigrate to America that u must wait 1 year or more for the visa.

May I ask how you met your fiancee?
We met online.started talking on December 2012.
-
I completely agree with Kaydeecee. In my case the AP lasted for two weeks and they did not require anymore papers from me. Since you have provided more information the officer requested, all you have to do is wait.
Your fiance can email the consulate for updates. This is not the end.
Please be informed that K3 is obsolete. You might want to try the CR-1 route if you wish to marry your fiance instead of waiting for K1 to be approved. Which I don't recommend right this second because you just had an interview and still waiting for the consulate to respond.
Take it easy. You are over-reacting. Its no big deal. This is their job. Your reaction is part of the investigation process.
If they kept your passport and only asked you for this basic info, you will probably get it, if not right away, then in time.
Give it some time before you start planning to move to other countries.
You said you have been doing this a year...but its only been since Dec. We are still waiting to finish and we started in august 2013. Its really pretty normal. Yes there are a few cases out there that get it in 3 month, but its the exception.
After 11 months, and a waiver, now they are asking for my tax return and support affidavit again and get this....new photos of my fiancée...they dont really need any of this...they already have the answers...but still we have to wait longer....
Your experience is normal for many many people. Don't take it personally.
Just cooperate and you will likely be ok if your relationship is legit.
We have no money to travel back and forth. My fiance is trying to pay his bills so when i go we can buy a house. We havent since each other 11 months. Just because we gave a looooooot of money for k1 process and his citizenship. We applied for his citizenship on July 2013 and he become a citizen on November 2013. December we applied for k1.
We really can pay 1600$ for a ticket right now. But this doesnt mean we are not a real couple. Are couples that met once and see each other 10 days. We lived 3 months together. On the interview they asked :oh wow so only in 3 months u took the discion to be with him. Yes i did! And i would do it again. Cause he is the person that loves more that he love himself or my parents ever loved me.
I hate that these two women can decide about me and my fiance and our life. They saw me only few mins. They have no idea what we ve been through...

There is no set time for being in administrative processing. It can be short or long. Them keeping your passport really is a good sign. If they feel it will be refused and sent back to the USCIS, or will take a long time in AP, then they won't keep the passport in case you needed to travel while waiting. Keeping the passport shows they are leaning towards an approval and will need the passport to place the visa inside it before returning it. Keeping the passport is not a for sure deal, but it is much more positive than if they had handed it back to you with the 221(g).
Oh my God!! I wish we ll approved!!
We are both devastated ....
-
Yesterday was my interview and they gave me 221g asking me to provide my brother s address in the usa and my fiance s brother address too. They both live in maryland so they think my brother and my fiance s brother met each other before and knew each other or whatever. Or that i wanna marry my fiance and then go live to my brother. I dont know im so confused. They kept my passport too. We sent the email with the addresses few hours after my interview. My status says Administrative Processing.
Any idea whats going on?
-
Did the officer give you the 221G? Did he ask for more papers from you?
So was your fiance with your during interview? Because you mentioned about both of you being treated as criminals?
The thing about AP there is no way in finding out when it's going to end. It could be days to months.
Hopefully by not returning your passport they will eventually issue the visa to you.
As others have mentioned, keep checking the ceac website. I was under AP too and completely understand how you must feel!!
Good luck to you

Since they gave me a 221g whats next? We sent them the email yesterday afternoon with the addresses as they asked. So now what? How long this will take?
-
<p> It won't take 11 months. Sorry to hear you were issued a 221(g)
did you list your brother in you DS160?
- Applicants MUST list all immediate family members living in the United States, regardless of their immigration status.
Of course I did!
I'm pretty sure they dont believe the relationship is true cause they are racists! They can believe how a white girl from greece is committed with someone who is black!!! I'm still shocked but im able to see the whole process again on my mind and understand more....
If it is such a thing i will even write to Obama! We live on 2014!
-
Great. Its pathetic that they can't simply update the email with the correct amount to avoid confusion!!!
And yet, they scrutinize every single details about our filing.
I'm glad you got that settled.
They don't care about anythingl they even sent me an old version of affidavit of support with the package 3. Was expired since 2010.
-
They gave me a paper that called refusal worksheet and says : section 221(g) prohibits the issuance of a visa to anyone whose application does not comply with the provisions of the immigration and nationality act or regulations issued pursuant thereto. Missing documents : - names and addresses of all of ur family members in the us and all of ur fiance s family in maryland.
My fiance sent the email with the addresses and the phone numbers. We ll be glad if they call them and ask them whatever they want.
So pls guys tell me. Now what s next. Could this take another 11 months for them to take a discision? What do we must do?
What happens in cases of deny? What will we do? Can we get marry and go through k3? I dont think they will let me go to the states never again!

how can I delete my posts and my account?~Moved from K1 Process to K1 Progress Forum~

Hang in there. All of this will be forgotten once you get your Visa.
Crossing my fingers for you and your fiance.
Thank u so much!!

By sending the information, you are one step closer to being with your fiance. I know it was deeply upsetting to be questioned in a way that you're not accustomed to, but this stage is all about checking/verifying your background and information. Usually, for low fraud countries like Greece, it's just a tickbox exercise to make sure that everything matches up. In high fraud countries, beneficiaries are scrutinised a lot more closely and the interview seems more like an interrogation than an informal chat.
You might have been unlucky and caught the interviewer on a bad day or caught a bad interviewer. Unfortunately, it is what it is. The main thing is that they didn't deny you, they just requested more information before they could approve your visa. To reiterate, keeping your passport is a good sign, because it suggests that they are close to an approval but are just missing that last bit of information.
You've done your bit. Find a way to forget about this for a day or two. Then take a deep breath and check your CEAC status/email.
Dead says Administrative Processing. Next week hopefully we ll have an answer!! I feel like a zombie. We are looking for jobs right now with my fiance in Europe so we can see if we can move. Or If i can move to st marten cause thats his birth country.

May I ask how you met your fiancee?
We met online.

I didn't have an easy interview either - despite what I thought was a straightforward case. Albeit, I was approved and had my visa in-hand within a week of the interview.
As the others have said, your goal is to get to the US and be with your fiance.
And yes, they kept your passport, so they just need that extra bit of information and then you should be approved. Swallow your pride. Email the information. Then wait for the CEAC status changes. Once you have your visa in hand, everything else is just gravy.
At the interview they are on the computer they can check everything i say, I'm pretty sure they know everything about me my fiance my brother my fiance s brothers his mom. Everyone. They know my fiance s brother is serving the country and he is at the pentagon. I sent the email now with my fiance with the info they asked, but i really dont understand what the importance of me sending them the addresses when they already know the addresses. Even what color pants they wear.
-
So the fee is 240$ i paid it today even if they told me 230$ at the email first.
-
I can sympathize with your experience, but since people around the world
do all sorts of things to come to US, I suppose sometimes these folks can
overreact and you were the unfortunate victim.
This is the exact reason, I have been preparing my fiancee for the worst possible questions,
and yet to remain calm and sincere, and simply cooperate with them even on tough questions
and accept that they are simply doing their job (though in rude manner sometimes)
because...
our ultimate mission is to get her to US so that we can get married.
Look on the bright side, you didn't get rejected despite all that scrutiny,
so simply cooperate with them, and let them feel like kings and queens
because your ultimate goal is not to seek nice treatment from them
but for you to get the visa and make it to US.
Best wishes...
I cant believe this. I thought they were doing this only in high fraud countries. In Greece!?? Vauwww
Don't make them be a winner by let you down. They kept your passport. That's a good sign. After you have received the visa, fly to the US, and filed complaint how they treated you badly at your interview.
Me and my fiance are in sock right now. We dont know whats going on. Even if ppl all over the world do things like this they say that they treat each other as unique and with respect.
i ve been in hell all those months. I left my job and after i came back on my home coutry my father kicked me out the house cause im with a non greek and a specially with a black person. He doesn't talk to me. In the begining he was saying he ll kill me or whatever. I live with my mother and my step father, they make my life a hell cause i have a lot of problems with my step father. I'm not able to find a job even part time to support myself right now.
I dont know what to feel... I start to realize what happend and I'm getting in more sock than before... Let's say my fiance will come in greece, what is he going to do there with the crisis? How we ll live? And how they will accept him on the society when we even have a nazi political party on the 3rd place. Ppl here are super racists. And i wont let anyone to say a *** about my man. I ll kick their ***

I'm really devasteted. But i really wanted to share that with u guys so can let me know.
Today i had my interview at the embassy. The whole process wasn't so smooth as i thought. I found it really hard.
I really dont know whats the problem but they treated me like me and my fiance are some criminals or something.
Probably they dont like that im with a black guy either.
They ask me few things about me and my fiance like how did we met how long we ve been together i told them that i lived with him for 3 months and suddenly the lady was like are 3 months enough to take a decision and be with someone? Im with my fiance since January 8 2013 we lived together June 8-august 26 2013.
Then they started to ask me everything u can imagine about my brother that he lives in the us. My brother got in the usa and got married with his first love that knew since he got a kid.after 5 years things didnt work out and they divorced,
Probably they believe my relationship with my fiance is not real. That I'm planning to move there get married and divorced. Great!! Sound like a great plan, but not for me that i love my fiance and we ve been through 11 hard months waiting for the k1 so we can get marry.
Also my fiance s family lives in md as my brother, so what the problem? They were rude to me like oh what a couinsidence huh? They both live on the same state, like when i met dana i knew that my fiance s family lives there. Wooow!!! I dont know what to say,
They didnt like that my brother and my fiance met after few months after i was being with my fiance either. My fiance last year that he visited his family in md he went to find my brother and go out for lunch and get to know each other. Is that a crime? I got so happy that my fiance and my brother were together,
A week ago my fiance was at md again and he went for lunch with my brother. Is that a crime again? We are a family... Thats how we are. For theme thats suspicious, at the end they ll tell me that they are afraid that my fiance will have a relationship with my brother, Jesus.
At the end they asked me to email them with my brother s address and my fiance s brother address so they can see where they live exactly.
They kept my passport. But i never want to go back to this place again, even from outside, they supposed to treat us up with respect and every case as unique. They were all the opposite
221g. Is that a denial?
