I took K3 as IR1 was about to take 2 more months. I am in USA now and can tell you its worth waiting for 2 months and land on USA soil with your green card.

If you go K3 route:
You land with temp visa.
You can not work, get drivers license, open bank account, in short no identity you will have untill you get your employment authorization and social security.
You apply for adjustment of status to get green card, you apply for employment authorization
You apply for reentry permit to US as you can not leave or re-enter US after applying ajdustment of status
You pay $1000 fee
you wait 3-4 months to get your employment authorization
You apply social security after you get your employment authorization
You apply driver license after you get your employment authorization and social security.
You wait 7 to 10 months for your Adjustment of status interview and you both (husband wife) attend interview and present current supporting documents to prove that your relationship is genuine and if its less than 2 year after your marriage then you get conditional green card...the card you will get in Pakistan if you opt for IR1 route.
If you go IR1 Route:
You land with one year IR1 permanent visa.
In 2 week your green card and social security will be at your home. no paper work
You can get your driver license and open bank account and continue your life ... your have your identity...SIMPLE
Chosing between K3 and IR1 in most cases is not your choice...NVC will do it for your and i am sure they will dump the K3...even if K3 skid through just like iin my case. i would recommend dont follow it and wait for IR1.

Sorry for late update, i got sick.

Sugheil is correct. AP can last as per embassy will. I read your interview experience from your timeline. Your major problem is your age difference. And its not small difference (no offence). People do crazy things to get immigration. So VO were so much into it.
Right now you are in AP and they will do different things to verify if your marriage is bonafide and not for sole purpose of immigration. So hang on and wait patiently.

I assigned agent on Nov 7 and AOS Fee Paid Nov 8. On Nov 19 i called NVC and they told me DS261 is not reviewed but as you have called now its gonna reviewed now (otherwise it was going to take 30 days) and you will get IV invoice emails after 2 business days. I got no email and today i again called and they said your ds261 reviewed on Nov 20 and you will get IV Invoice email between Nov 28 to first week of Dec as NVC is backlogged.
Also am i the only one who think that after Agent Assigned, AOS and IV fee payment you have to send all documents in one packet as written on following link http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html

They can take 4 to 10 days. We got reply in 5 days.
Give them atleast 10 days, thats their official timing. we got reply in 5 days BTW.

Yes thats my point, first male beneficiary will get hit during USCIS and will go through all security checks and after getting NOA2 NVC will conduct their own security checks and after interview That Male Beneficiary will get HIT for AP and will be held for extended AP. That's how they do their business...
They should do all those extended and double extended background and security checks after issuing VISA, they can revoke visa if anything they see bad. Just like 129f (K3)...whts the problem in it...

dont lose hope, send RFE back ASAP and you will get approved. Some time its better to get RFE than just waiting like us... No clue my NOA1 PD Dec, 4, 2013 and still waiting for NOA2

Anymore Dec approvals, that DACA renewal are coming up and people have to submit 4 months before there current one's expire and I'm afraid it might affect our progress on this.

Called USCIS today and was told that they are currently working on November 1st 2013 cases. I told her, if that is so, why are November 21st + cases already approved. She said their circumstances might be different than yours. So I told her no, we all have the same circumstances. WE WANT OUR SPOUSES WITH US ALREADY! She said how it would take them 2-3 days to finish up November 1st 2013 cases. So I told her, if that is correct, then what I have to wait another 5 months for approval. She was quiet - then she said, well...it all depends on the amount of cases and how long they take to approve them. I want to jump into the phone line and strangle her for that comment. I swear they are extremely insensitive to our feelings. They need people who have been through this long tedious process to work there. They would feel our pain!!!!!!
Okay that's my ranting for tonight. I plan on calling back tomorrow and harassing them again. Lol.

That someone has touched your file. Some people are approved after this BUT others (like me) receive this emai land nothing else happens.
