Hey everyone, just checking in to see how everyone is doing. I see a lot of my fellow Canadians got Feb.10th interview dates, which is my birthday so I think it will be a good day.
I got my SS card in the mail, 11 days after POE.

Getting ready for my interview. Do I need to bring documents to prove our marriage? We are married for nine years now with two kids.
another question kind of silly, but are big zipper binders are allowed to bring? I have one pretty bulky, but it keeps all my documents neat and safe.
That's what I brought, I had no issues.

I had that issue at a bar during our bachelor/bachelorette party in San Diego 6 years ago. I had my Ontario drivers license which was good enough for the guy at the door, but the bartender wouldn't serve me with it...said I had to use my passport which I didn't have on me. We ended up going somewhere else.

Me either. I was checking the site and tracking it lol. I won't make it there by 7 today so have to go tomorrow. I will head straight across after that. This is exciting! I may try and head to the social security officer too for my card.
Yay, so exciting! Good luck at POE!

Interview was on Thursday Dec.18th, I got my passport in Monday the 22nd, the 2nd business day after my interview.

wasn't me, but I did see you. I was sitting on the end with a blue and black stripe shirt on. The lady behind me had a wool coat too so I thought that was you actually lol.
Did you get your passport back yet?
Yup, I picked it up this evening. I never got an email that it was ready, but when I checked on the usvisa-info website it said ready for pick up, so I went in.

Did anyone from here borrow my magazine while waiting for their interview on Thursday? I offered someone a magazine to read, and didn't ask if they were from vj at the time. I keep wondering if it was though, and who it might have been if they were.

We'll be doing P.O.E probably on Jan.2nd, but knowing that cell phone carriers tend to have good deals for the holidays we were looking to see if it was worth signing up for one now. I was just wondering what carrier people used that had reasonable pricing for making calls/texts to Canada?
I'm finding that it is not very well advertised on many of the big carrier's websites.

Got an email from Loomis that my passport was picked up from the embassy, looks like we'll have it before Christmas.

Interview checklist says they want to see the originals and an English translation. (Page 5 and 6 depending on which visa you are applying for)

My interview is over, I was approved although I think I was close to not being approved lol.
The lady asked me what I planned on doing for work and had I looked into it yet. I said I googled somethings to see what the job market and job requirements were, but that I hadn't applied for anything yet. She then asked if I had any documentation of my plans in the U.S.A and I said no...thinking she was talking jobs. She was typing and I got a bad vibe, after a couple minute of her typing I said "well, I have a lease and receipt from the moving truck when my husband moved stuff down earlier this month, and the packing list." Her demeanor changed a bit, and she wanted to see those. I offered other proof of domicile, and she said that this was enough. A couple more minutes of typing and she said she would be issuing me a visa.
I'll write a full review when I get home.

Just logged into CEAC on my MacBook to find that....my AOS has changed from PAID to N/A. Cautiously optimistic here!
Congrats!

hello i was recommended to talk to you by Canadianmom (very nice lady). anyways i have a few questions for you, would be so great if you could answer them
i have a CC date of Dec 12 2014 (finally) and was wondering how long it will take to get an interview date for Montreal. also when do you think it might be?

If you go under country of interview you can select Canada and see the recent cases from Canada and the number of days from CC to interview. Looks too be around 50-55 days on average.

i have a question for you, how long did it take to get a interview date from the NVC for montreal? i have a CC of dec 12 2014. also how did the medical test go? what kind of question did the doctor ask and for the chicken pox vaccine - did you have the chicken poxs or get the vaccine for it? i had the chicken pox and got 1 dose of the vaccine just in case but idk if that will be approved cause i only have one shot even though i had the chicken poxs as a kid.
My CC was November 6th (I think, check my signature) and my interview is on the 18th. Dwheels probably has a better idea of when they will do the next round of scheduling, I would guess your looking at a Feb. Date at this point but I don't know.
At the medical there's a blood test to check for syphilis, and xray to check for Tuberculosis. For chicken pox I just had to check a box that I had it as a child. Bring your vaccine records, it should be fine. There was a vision test, they checked my weight and height, then there was a general medical part. They ask about previous hospitalizations, mental illness, substance abuse problems, any conditions you have or medications you take. I took a note from my GP explaining the details of the postpartum depression I had as we'll as the medication I occaisonally takes for migraines but he didn't even look at it.

I got my medical results this afternoon, and we're all settled in our hotel room in Montreal. Our interview is in the morning. I hope to see some of my fellow Canadian VJers there, I know there's a few of us interviewing tomorrow.

My interview is coming up on Thursday, heading to Montreal tomorrow. So nervous. Cannot wait to hear those words "you are approved" Good luck to all my peeps. Maybe we will see each other. I will have black and pink gloves on
We're heading over tomorrow too. I'll be wearing a long gray wool coat. There's 3 or 4 VJ people interviewing on Thursday.

Maybe a 10 min walk to the Embassy if you had stayed in Ottawa, lol Good luck
Gah! Consulate, too late to edit! I wish we could just go to the embassy here in Ottawa.

Hi Canadianmom, its getting closer and closer cant wait for our interview ours is at 9:30 am. Question forecast for the 17th night is saying freezing rain and snow, at what time are you leaving from Ottawa. We were thinking to leave at 4:30 am but reconsidered driving earlier and staying at a hotel right next to the embassy and then walk there. We still have to pick up our medical that mirning before interview. Did you pick yours up Yet?
We're driving down on the 17th and picking up my medical results that day, and staying in a hotel for the night. I am NOT a morning person, and didn't want to get up that early, and deal with the stress of getting the medical results in the morning. This way we can take our time, we're staying at the travel lodge on Rene Levesque, it's about a 10 minute walk to the embassy.

Hello!
Well, I'm waiting to receive my interview email so I can show Dr. Cheema at my medical that's scheduled for this Wednesday. Third time calling NVC this week and the only answer i get is that 'the email will be sent out shortly'. I'm really hesitant to book my flights to montreal without it. Also, does the usvisa-info.com website show your interview date once the montreal consulate receives it? When I log in it says that I have 'no appointment scheduled'...
That's what mine said when I registered, i haven't checked again recently though. I just assumed that they were slow getting the info entered. I got my email the day after it was booked...I was calling everyday that week to see if my interview was scheduled, so I know what day it was scheduled.

That's a good way to look at it. I needed to be done by 11am to catch my flight that day.
We're driving in from Ottawa, so there's no time crunch for us. If I had to be done by 11 for a flight, I would show up really early too.

Got my green card in the mail yesterday, 28 days after POE, faster than I expected. I still find Saturday mail delivery weird Lol.
Good luck to everyone with NVC.
