That's 2 MONTHS to pay the IV fee!? That's heart breaking!
I'm staying away from https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ until I receive the IV invoice email from NVC! It's too dangerous!
I heard that it only happens to people who filled out the DS-261 form too early. I filled out the form after the initial email from NVC so I may be okay.

I hear that question at least a couple times a day and explaining everything is draining. I think I'm going to pull that little trick tomorrow Brilliant.

Funny story, I was just asked for the 8 millionth time when my husband was coming home. I yelled "I DON'T KNOW!" Everyone in the office turned and gave me a look.
Maybe now people will stop asking.

I hope you're right.. I think my wife is now on edge.. This week hasn't gotten any better for her. (If you read the e-mails she sent you).
I'm so sorry to hear that ArthurandMarcela! Hope it's all sorted soon!
You need to fix 13.a.1 - Needs to match the total income, not the adjusted income. It's what you can find on line 22 of your 1040.
    You mean my wife .
I see a lot of the same questions over and over, and some panic at least.. One thing people fail to do, that I think is a brilliant idea is.. Print out the instructions and the I-864 form.. and go one by one for each part of the form, and the instructions to make sure it's clear for you. When my wife first looked at the form it did seem confusing, but she did this and it was a lot easier as she read the instructions to the I-864. Double check it or triple check it to make sure it's all correct. I know she checked it about 5 or 6 times to make sure if she made any mistakes before we sent ours off.
Panicking really doesn't help, and to be honest if it takes you a few days, it takes you a few days. Don't rush something that can delay a process. The I-864 form isn't there to confuse you. It's pretty clear. Anything that isn't applicable to you, just put N/A or none to be safe.
I'm trying to be helpful and not to offend anyone here, just an idea that can help make this process a little bit easier and not to panic.

Thank you Soloenta for your kind words.
I must admit, I do skirt over the questions I don't know the answers to, but I remember what I was like at the start of this process and many of those who were at the stage we are at now were answering my questions but have now moved into the interview forums. This forum has hit a quiet patch and would hate for someone to be stuck, delayed or checklisted. We are all in this together!

Unfortunately it's the law, specifically the PATRIOT Act.
You can thank the Congress that passed it; it was their aim that 9-11 not be repeated.

I'll probably look at it at least 15 times tomorrow!!

Dieseltu, the first year I was here was just awful. I'm sure I was just as miserable as your wife but my husband understood that my frustration was due to missing everything and everyone I knew, so he helped me to familiarize myself with my surroundings and even went out of his way to find places where I could pick up items which weren't readily available to me here, but were everywhere in my home country.
I don't think I fully adjusted until the end of my second year, but the first year was the worst. Give her time. Give her hugs. Give her flowers. She doesn't want you to fix it for her; she's just grieving.

Congratulations to you Married4Life13 and good luck with NVC.
Unfair at 5-6 months Azim? I sure hope you or nobody else who does this with no fraud in mind ever have to wait as long as us, heading 11 months and still no decision. Had 2 RFE for marriage certificate that we already sent them with the petition. Husband called them and they said it is not unusual for them to ask for the same evidence again.., Now their 60 days to respond on our last RFE is up and still no decision or update from them.
Our case was transferred from MSC to CSC in January. Always read here it is the fastest center to give you a decision. Well, I haven't noticed that. Maybe VSC is, having two quick approvals just in this thread. Don't give me wrong, I am happy for you , I just wish our case would move on too.
Maybe your case moved on so quickly because you had such a good name here Married4Life13, ;-).

Welcome to another monthly thread for those going through NVC!
Before posting questions, please read the wiki I wrote on the NVC process here. Once you're done, read it one or two more times to really understand it Don't forget to also read the official form instructions as well as USCIS and NVC's websites! For up to date time frames, you can view my spreadsheet here. If you would like to be added (or have your entry updated), then please fill out the form here (please read the instructions at the top carefully, especially the update part as people aren't filling the form out correctly [they're filling out information not needed]). And before submitting the form, please make sure the consulate on your timeline isn't the default Armenia. I will NOT add/update you if it is. Also make sure your timeline is completely filled out up to the point where you are. If you want to see a visual of the NVC process, please view my flowchart here. I will be much less active in reading (and thus answering) posts in these monthly threads, so don't bother asking me questions directly. Just post them here for everyone to see and someone will come along to answer. Remember to be patient (re: just post once and wait) And if for whatever reason, you can't find the answer, try searching both on this website and on Google. It's amazing what you can find if you search
If you're wondering about time frames, I've got a spreadsheet available for a reason And if you're trying to look at a time tick not on it (such as bills being invoiced), look at the fellow members right here in this thread! Study their signatures/timelines and make notes. VJ also has this awesome page: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=&op3=5&op5=&op6=All Use it! I sure did during my process
And once you've got a case complete, please join Dwheels's case complete/interview thread (currently July), here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/498772-july-2014-interviews/
