I am seeing yellow triangle against my IV fees since yesterday evening but I can't pay anything or nothing comes up when I click the pay link. I wonder how long does it rand for them to upload the file or that link to actually show the amount to be paid?

Yeah.... I was just laughing at the sarcasm. And yes - a million times better than USCIS. There are more little steps instead of one big long wait.
I usually called around the time frames it seemed like I would be close to whatever milestone - nvc recieve, case # and case complete. Aside from that I called about a false check list. Every time the person was really nice and gave me good advice. I mean the standard time frames, but usually they would say something like "call back at the end of the week just to check". I felt like the answers they gave me were actually based on reality and as opposed to the whatever USCIS felt like saying that day
That being said - good luck and I hope you get your case complete soon!!
Lol ...... I don't even wanna talk or think or comment about the USCIS phase. I am just glad that part is over. I am very much hoping and anticipating that both my cases get done by end of April beginning of May and so there is an interview call date in mid June or something. As long as everything is done by June, I will be super happy.
And good luck to you too. Hope everything goes smooth and quick at your end too.

"Fun"
I looked at my call log - last Thursday I tried 21 times to get through (26 minute wait before I got through to a person) to NVC and Friday 25 times (38 minutes). Worth it though, found out my case is complete, so yay.
Although it was sarcastic, I guess I shouldn't complain. This is still way much better than USCIS stage.

You have to call. Unless their is an issue the next email you will get is case complete which arrives 7 days after your case complete (so call). Then there's the interview email that comes usually the day the schedule you.
There is no accepted package" emails.
Thanks. So I guess back to calling. That's fun.

Just wondering that when NVC receives the package either for AOS or IV documents, how can we tell if they are reviewing or have completed the review ? Do we need to call them and make sure the files haves been uploaded , reviewed and approved? Coz the payment portal only shows if the payment is processed or pending.

hello everyone,
The uscis website says that they have sent my approved case to department of state for visa processing on march 10 and i shoud contact them directly for further information.in mail at home i recieved a letter on march 10, saying they have sent our case to NVC and to give them 30 days before i can contact them.
Can anyone tell me how will they contact me after 30 days? Will they send me a letter in mail? when will i be assigned a case number? And how can they further do my visa processing through email. I have not given them my email address yet.will i be asked for an email address?
My PD was june 6
NOA1 dec 19
Approved case sent to NVC march 10
nothing after this so far
Help will be appreciated..
thank you
Check my timeline. You have to give them about 20 business days after which you can call them or they will send a letter in mail to advise you of further processing. This will take anywhere from 20 to 25 business days after they receive your file at NVC.

thanks for the reply! i was just wondering maybe after the interview and get my visa i cant work properly anymore due to too much excitement.. i dont think i can still bear 3months after getting the visa.. but thanks will consider ur opinion..
True and understandable ..... But u kno how this immigration and now visa process works. There's no arguing with this process .... Lol

It hasn't even been a week for your DS-261. Until NVC accepts it (have you called them no IV bill will be invoiced. Has nothing to do with AOS.
Thanks. I guess then another couple of days. I didn't know that. I thought it was more like a step by step process. I guess I should get ready to pay the fees in a day or two. Thanks for this info.
-
No, that's not the case. IV and AOS path are independent. Your IV bill will be generated once the DS-261 is reviewed and accepted.
Really because I completed my DS261 earlier last week and it was accepted. I am assuming accepted meNs that green check mark . After that the bill for AOS was generated and processed ( on Griday last week) but as of today or IV it still says not available.
-
hello all, just wanna ask how long does it usually take to know your case complete as well as interview date once iv packet is submitted? coz i want to plan when i can render resignation.. i need 3 months before i can be cleared to work. thanks in advance!
God bless us all
It's really hard to say as there is no specific timeline. The safest bet is to holdon to your job until the interview. Once approved and you have the visa in your hand , you have 6 months to travel. I think at that point you can give your letter if resignation.
-
Same invoice#. When it is available, it will show up as payable on the portal.
Yeah same situation here. Infact I sent out my AOS documents over the weekend and they will get it tomorrow but I am assuming until AOS documents are verified and approved, the bill for IV will not be generated.

APPROVED at the USCIS 3/18. Just got emails stating both cases have been shipped to the NVC. 3/21
I have to say.. I am surprised they were shipped so soon. It has to be the fastest action so far !!
lol true ..... but shipping out of USCIS is not the problem but actually getting to NVC and from there being uploaded into their system ....thats the worst part. its really taking them about 25 business days. And thats means with weekends and holidays and what not ... you are looking at atelast month and a half .... lol. Talk about being quick.

1. You are the person who filed or is filing the Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, for a relative being sponsored;2. The relative you are sponsoring is the only person listed on the Form I-130 petition;3. The income you are using to qualify is based entirely on your salary or pension and is shown on one or more Forms W-2 provided by your employer(s) or former employer(s).If you meet the above criteria, then yes, you can file the I-864EZ with your 1040 IRS Form. That's exactly what my husband did, he filed 1040 in 2013, 2012 and 2011 (your case). We used Total Income (this applies to you). The Adjusted Gross Income is just for people using 1040EZ (not your case).
Awesome. And thanks, Very much helpful. This is exactly what I am going to do now.
-
Yes, it is ok if you meet the three criteria. My husband filed the I-864EZ using Total Income since his IRS Form was 1040. You need to use the Adjusted Gross Income only when your IRS Form is the 1040EZ. That's what the instructions states
Ok I think I just got confused ... lol
For my tax returns I filed 1040 for three years including 2013. Can I not use I-864EZ or only 1040EZ can file I-864EZ?
Also for the purpose of stating income for past three years, I a going to use AGI or gross income for I-864EZ? It seems like from what you are saying that only if I had filed 1040EZ, I need to state AGI on I-864EZ. Since in my case I filed 1040 I need to use gross income. Is that right?
Thank you.
-
I am thinking about filing out I-864EZ instead of I-864 as I am only planning on using my income and not the joint sponsors or any household member's income. Just wondering if it's ok? Anyone here has done the same thing? And for I-864EZ it's the AGI and not the gross income.
Thanks in advance

For 2, looking at what it says, you would think you wouldn't mention the other parent (as they have their own petition), but when you get to the household size, like you mentioned, 3 doesn't sound right. Perhaps in your case, it'd be best to fill out 2 with the other parent's info, then fill in the household section with 4. Hopefully, that won't generate a checklist. Sorry I couldn't be definitive on this one
Thank You Saylin. It is very confusing but I have been reading online and it seems like I shouldn't be including the other parent while filling out I - 864 for the one parent. Read some replies from lawyers on other websites. Unless it's children accompanying parents .... Which is what I think their logic is ..... If only they can make it much easier to understand. Each person having a separate petition is considered a separate individual for the purpose of I-864. So let's say God forbid one of the visas or I -864 don't get approved, the other person or individual is still considered as part if household. I know it's like ... Can you make it any harder to understand.
-
Hi Saylin,
I was wondering if you could help me understand something on I-864, I am getting confused with Part 3 question on i-864. Before I begin, my household size includes me and my wife only and we both work. Now I applied for both my parents and both I-130 got approved and currently awaiting for NVC #s at the NVC phase. I am also aware that I would have to fie 2 separate I-864 (and I-864A) for each parent.
Under Part 3 (Information on the Principal Immigrant)
1. I am going to check this box as YES
2. Will I be checking this box? It says that do not include any relative listed on a separate visa petition but then instructions also mention about Spouse and/or Children so I feel like I should check this box and then mention my mother's (or my father depending on whose I-864 I am filling out). If I select this then I need to fill out 2(a,b
,c,d,e and f)
7 If I fill 2 then my I will have to out 2 as total number of immigrants.
Part5: Sponsor's Household Size
I think I should have 4 as total household size. 2 for me and my wife and 2 for my immigrating dad and mom.
I feel like these two questions are throwing me off because I am reading contradicting statements on different websites. If I dont mention the second intending immigrant in 2 then my household siZe will be 3 which I feel is incorrect.
Thanks in advance for any and all the help.

Ignore the 1 photo requirement though as for the IV you will need 2 passport photos.
Thank you. I knew there was nothing about wearing jewelry but someone was telling me that there shouldn't be any jewelry. I alreadu have the pictures of my parents with my mom wearing small earrings. I guess the pictures are good to go.

Just wondering if anyone knows that if there is any requirement for pictures interms of not wearing any jewelry for visa? I did not come across anything that says anything about not wearing any jewelry.

Still nothing from NVC. Its been like 20 days plus excluding weekends and snow days and still no case number assigned.
-
Just Checking in. Although NVC got my case files from USICS on Feb 7 but still no case numbers have been assigned. I am hoping soon I should be able to get those numbers.

Just got off the phone with NVC. No case number yet. The person told me they have had 3 snow days and 2 federal holidays so I should have it by middle of next week. But I will try my luck again on Friday. Anyone who got there case number today ?
Not today. They told me the same thing today about snow days.
-
yes they are just looking for box 1 of part 3 to be checked and nothing else. It seems contradictory but then again its USCIS and nothing that they do makes sense.
Yeah this does look very confusing. I filed for my parents and off course separate i-130 petitions and so 2 separate visa petitions but both will be migrating to US at the same time. On one hand it says not to include any relative on separate visa petition and then on the other hand the instructions clearly says that
" ...... if the immigrant maybe bringing a spouse and/or children , or within 6 months of the immigrant's entry to the United States and you are sponsoring them, you should list the names and other requested information to the lines provide"
I would very much like to assume that my mother would be my dad's spouse or vice versa .... lol.
