  1. bumping this thread to the 1st page as questions are easier seen on this thread.

Hi Collie. Do you know by any chance if I can find somewhere how they schedule the visa interviews? I know based on availability but after the case is completed how long do I have to wait for them to actually issue me a date and when can I expect an interview date. After sending in reply to my checklist today, I really hope it shouldnt take more than a week to week and a half for them to complete the case. I guess I am just trying to see if my parents can get an interview date for end of June. Thanks.

  2. depends on the embassy.

I plan on tracking the file to the embassy and then calling them to schedule something if what I get is not good. My phone plan includes free international calling to a landline.. ( sorry for them  )

it depends on the date of Case Complete and when NVC is scheduling interviews for a specific embassy.

If you miss the deadline than the wait is longer. And we don't know the deadline.

Thank you both LoveMYTico and etrangais. I am just hoping the case gets completed in the next week or week and a half (without any further checklists) so the interview can be arranged for mid to end June considering there's about a month gap in between the notice and actual interview

  3. I resent my revised AOS April 7, NVC got it the 9th (I had the tracking number to see when it was received), they didn't put it in their system till the 16th!! IV they put in the 15th! DS-260 was done March 26th. I hope they hurry up and I can be with my husband in the summer!! :(

Sane thing with me .... They took like 2-3 business days just to scan the items for my IV and AOS. I am still hoping to hear something good this week. A case complete news would be wonderful.

  4. This is so stupid. I got a checklist for AOS and on that its says that if a question doesnt apply then I must answer N/A to that. Now the question where it asks whether you are on active military duty, its either yes or no. The question only applies to those who are in military service and whether they are active or not. Even though it doesnt apply to me it seems like they still want me to check NO.

  5. Ok so here it goes ..... While filling out DS260 for my father, I wasnt sure what to write for his employment. He used to own a business but sold it back in 2000. So when the question says whether you are employed I should write NO. Also I m thinking thinking that where it says previous employment (for last 10 years), I shouldnt write anything as the business he owned/sold was more than 10 years ago and now he is considered retired. Am I thinking right? Thanks for your help.

  7. I agree with you and I already filled out 864-EZ; but then read other posts on VJ, and decided to use 864, just to be on safe side: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/483206-nvc-filers-march-2014/?p=6911843

    Thanks.

I actually used I-864EZ. The thing is that if you are only using your income/salary and nothing else or no one else but you then I-864EZ is much easier to fill out without any complications or confusions.

  8. Ok so ..... I have been reading last couple of pages and posting from today ... Before anyone says something ?...... I just wanted to thank everyone for their advice and suggestion. I very much appreciate that everyone in their own manner or knowledge or experience is willing to share whatever they can...... And believe me it not this helps a lot. Infact I feel like this community in many ways supersedes getting a lawyer. Like always this is a community and we are all here to help each other ?

  9. I filed my 2013 taxes about 2 weeks ago by paper. I was wondering can I send my 2012 tax info with the AOS package since its before April 15th and then give them the 2013 transcript at the interview? Or should I just wait until my 2013 taxes is completed then send the AOS package?

If you have already filed your 2013 tax returns then why not just send that. Thats what I did. Just send in the copies of your W2 and/or 1099. If you want to make sure your 2013 tax returns were accepted by IRS, call them and ask them. Once they say yes just send in 2013 tax returns.

  10. So I got an email from NVC that I have been registered as an agent for the applicant which I am assuming is acceptance of DS261 and it also says that I should pay the IV fees for further processing....... well the only problem is that the portal is showing that yellow triangle but I can't pay the fees as there is nothing to pay for IV. I was really hoping to pay the IV fees today. Anyone else having the same issue?
