  1. London loves employer letters for the I-134. Skip the bank statement. One tax return will also do it for London. Take two things at most. Pick whatever is easiest to get. It's pretty easy...just show them the income any way you can. There is no *required* item for an I-134 London.

Most people are paid by direct deposit. They still get pay stubs (statements). A pay stub isn't a cheque, if that's what it sounded like I meant. It's a statement saying how much the employee earned in that period, what tax was paid, sick days, etc. usually designed, printed and distributed by the HR department (or, these days, some folks just get them digitally through some internal HR system).

Best bet - get employer to write a letter stating job position and annual salary if no pay stubs are made.

I just found out that with the I-134 the USC only needs to cover 100% of the poverty guideline not 125% as I first thought.

    Is that correct??

  2. The tax returns (with the W2s) alone are probably enough. If you were doing the I-864 (the stricter form you'll do at AOS) you'd *only* use tax returns/W2s or tax transcripts. If you've got a bank statement to hand, take it, but I doubt they'll want it.

If you've got all this stuff anywya, take it with, worst case they just give it all back to you. :)

She gets paid via direct deposit so won't be able to give them pay stubs. Any suggestion in what to replace them with?

  3. I had my K1 interview in London in Sept. I took the affadavit of support form (cant remember the number I 134 or similar) and the last 2 years tax transcripts. Thats all I took and it was fine. Best place to look is on the UK subforum on here for stuff specific to London.

    +1 nibbie.

London doesn't need to see tax transcripts/w2s, so if you don't have them then no worries (but use them if you like). Minimum should be something like an employment letter stating job and salary and the last few months payslips.

London is one of the more lenient embassies for the I-134 compared to other countries.

    Thanks for your replys

Do you both think pay stubs and tax returns will be enough for London? Also shall I take my bank statement with me to show what I have also?

  4. I know there is probably other topics on this already. But when should I expect the NOA1 to come in the mail? I submitted the 129-F on Dec. 10th and have gotten nothing back yet. My lawyer sent it in so I do not have a tracking number. Will I get an email and a thing in the regular mail? Or just something in the regular mail? Btw it's to the Texas Service Centre.

Have you recived any emails from the USCIS yet? They Emailed us our NOA2 and NOA1 confirmation before we received it in post.

  5. Those number above your name in the format of xxx xxx xxx is your Alien number or A#. Was your name spelled correctly when you received the NOA1? The Consulate should get the name correct as it must match the name on the visa. If the petitioner's name is incorrect (i.e. USC) then it is not a big deal as no one other than USCIS knows who the petitioner is. The approved petition goes to NVC for a very, hopefully, short period and is then forwarded to the Embassy/Consulate where the beneficiary will have the interview and then receive the visa. Just make certain that all forms are correctly filled out for the Consulate and mention the last name issue at the interview. No need to contact the USCIS as the process has moved to the Embassy/Consulate stage--deal with them to get this resolved.

Good luck and congrats on getting to this point in the process,

    Dave

Thank you for your reply. The name on the NOA1 is spelt correct (MURPHY). That surname is mine and I am the beneficiary.

  6. "On December 23, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

Ok, now I suppose things get really busy!

We was approved on December 20th so we are around the same time. Hoping to be sent to NVC quickly BUT I have noticed on here that CSC takes it's time sending approved files on from between 4 to 8 weeks for most people.

  7. Well don't travel with much cash. Most transfer money with xe.com or there is another that Brits have also liked, but I forget the name.

Also some K1s have experienced difficulty opening an account even after they are already in the US before having a greencard. You may have to try a different one if the first refuses. In person seems to work better than online for many.

Ok thanks. Do you think it will be easier for me to just leave the money in my UK account till I set foot on US soil and get SSN and open a chase account when in Vegas then just wire transfer all my money from UK account over to the new US chase account?

  8. There's a second reason you should wait until you have the letter. It means London are aware of you - so when they get the medical results, they can add them to your file. If you go too quickly you run the risk of the medical results not getting put in your file (basically London gets a set of results with no matching case file and go "Huh?") and then that can wreak havoc.

So, yeah. Always best to wait until you have Packet 3 in hand just to play it safe.

London changed a lot of times since summer. When the embassy is ready for you they contact you by letter. Your instructions are here along with many links in the left and right column, so don't depend on a phone and mobile app. Use a PC. http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

Submit DS-160 online. Link in right column.

Book a medical appointment. There is a link all about it in the left column under Medical.

Gather all your documents for interview. Link in Step Two middle column. Read all the details that link off the list page

When you have done all the above, submit the Readiness for Interview form, which is well hidden in the right column where it talks about the DS-2001 (name of former paper form). You have to click "read more" to get to that page.

Edit: Wheatley was posting while I was typing. Great answer.

What does my fiancée need to include with the affidavit of support? It says most recent tax return and a wage statement. Is that all they want?

  9. You can indeed do this, but if the receptionist at Knightsbridge asks whether you've got your letter from the embassy yet, you need to lie and say you have it else they won't make the appointment. You also need to make sure you have your Police Certificate for this as they will ask for it (mainly to look for certain kinds of offences e.g. drugs/alcohol). They'll tell you everything you need on the phone.

Yea I would rather not lie at all during this whole process even a little one just in case. I got my police cert in September so that's all sorted .

    1) We have a forum for the UK where we have all this kind of information. Look down. Asking up here may give you inaccurate answers.

    2) As for forms you need to fill out? There are two:

2a) https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/Default.aspx <-- DS-160. You need to print the confirmation page of this off at the end (the one with the barcode)

2b) http://london.usembassy.gov/iv/notification_of_applicant_readiness_form.html <-- DS-2001. You need to fill this one out after completing DS-160 and once you have everything else completed (So Medical, and you have your Birth Cert + copy, Police Cert + copy, I-134 and Evidence and anything else you require as per your situation).

    3) Once you've done that, begin ringing the Department of State once a week to see if your interview's assigned. London is sketchy with interview letters at the moment and we are seeing a lot of people get their letters late or even after the interview was due to take place.

Ok thank you both so much. So best thing for me to do is wait until I receive a letter from London embassy? I thought I could do the medical before that once I get the number from the NVC?

  11. OMG, congrats. I remember your post a while back. I am so happy for both of you. If you don't my asking, what did you do that finally you've got an approval?

Thanks :) well last week I had enough of it all as was startling to affect my life has hadn't slept good in a over 3 weeks cause of it so I had the office of congresswomen Dina Titus put in a official enquiry and had senator hellor give them a call and we put in a service request and had my fiancée email the USCIS head office. The hope was one of them would work and it must of done :) the only reason we did all that is because the officer we spoke to on phone last week said we are well over processing and he can see no reason for it not to have been approved by now other than an error in the office.
