  1. Ok I want to finish the final touches on the I-864 and a doubt came up about my past income... I have lived in Mexico for the past 11 years and I did file my taxes buuuut the total on my 1040s was a big fat 0 because I didn't make enough to have to pay us taxes and I tried to get my transcripts and they dont appear except last years and that's because I did work in the us for a few months soo what should I put for my income on 2011 & 2012? $0 or the amount I earned in Mexico?

I am not sure maybe others know better. I would guess that you just put what is on your 1040 and attach a note to explain why it is that number,

    Quick question: :huh2:

I'm trying to simplify my AOS package (to make it less confusing) because I'm including lots of documents to demonstrate the US domicile (we live in Canada).

NVC only requires your tax transcript of the most recent tax year (2013) so I'm thinking about just including the 2013 tax transcript (not including the 2012 and 2011 tax transcripts).

It's not going to be a problem, is it? Just double checking. :help:

It should not be a prob, I sent only 2013 also and it got accepted. You should take all 3 years to the interview though, just in case.

  2. Thankyou I would let her know :) is Pakistan a MENA country?

Seems like Pakistan is not a MENA country but it definitely is a high fraud country just like India and Bangladesh. I would suggest to make sure to have documents if they ask for them and also, know what to say and explain any questionable differences.

I think so, If you get a CC this week you will be inline for a July interview and then you can negotiate with the consulate/embassy to see if they can give you an earlier appointment. I know I will do the same with the consulate in casablanca once they receive our case!!!

    Good luck

You can ask for an earlier appointment? What are you supposed to tell them?

  3. I did the same thing I got RFE before NVC stage. they want that paper as proof of what idk.. lol you would think the marriage was good enough

No case number grrrrrrrrrrr :ranting: :clock:

I know right! Grr, the sad thing is that before I sent my IV packet I read that I need to send the Nikah Nama but I guess I was so excited to send it I subconsciously blocked the main part out.

    :bonk::bonk::bonk:

  4. I think I'll sprinkle some of the crystals in with the old litter and see how she responds. Hopefully not as bad as yours!

Hmm, definitely looks real to me. I'd suggest calling up again and asking. Hopefully you get someone more helpful this time around. If they aren't, ask to speak with a supervisor instead and explain the situation.

So, I called back, they want me to send in my Nikah Nama Papers too. My muslim marriage contract papers, not just my marriage certificate. Gosh, make things more complicated won't you. My husband told me to send them before...I should have listened..hes gonna be like..told you so..haha

  5. Sounds like they're telling you it was a false checklist.

Mind posting the checklist? Might be good to get another set of eyes on it.

Yeah they are telling me it is false, but it has a specific thing on it that is "missing". I got a false checklist for my IV package before also, after I turned in my AOS package, so I was comparing the two and this one seemed real.

    ______CORRESPONDENCE INSTRUCTIONS:_________________________________
When responding to the National Visa Center, please include the bar code sheet that came with this
letter. Failure to include the bar code sheet may cause a delay in the processing of your case. The bar
code sheet should be placed on top of all documents being submitted for this case and mailed to the
    address provided.
    ______5 - MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE:____________________________________
Please submit this applicant's original marriage certificate, or a certified copy, bearing the appropriate
seal or stamp of the issuing authority. If the certificate is a certified copy of the original it must come
from the issuing government authority and it must contain annotation by the issuing government
authority indicating that it is an extract from the official records.
Documents must be from the appropriate issuing government authority. Failure to provide the
correct document will delay your case and may result in re-scheduling of your interview, or
    refusal of a visa.
In addition to the original documents, or certified copies of the documents, a photocopy of the original
documents must be submitted to the NVC.
For many countries, the U.S. Department of State has established country-specific criteria for ensuring
that applicants submit documents appropriate for visa processing. Please go to
immigrantvisas.state.gov to determine if the U.S. Department of State has issued any country-specific
    guidelines for the requested document.
All document not in English, or the official language of the country where the visa application will be
processed, must be accompanied by a certified translation. Your translation must include a statement
signed by the translator that states the following:
    · Translation is accurate
    · Translator is competent to translate
If it is impossible to obtain an original document or a certified copy of the original document because
records have been destroyed or the appropriate government authority will not issue one, you should
obtain a certified statement from the appropriate government authority stating the reason your record is
    not available.

all people are selfish omg .. nobody does ###### cares ..u have been reading all of you guys are waiting for your pacakges review but nobody is ready to help me . tooo bad

I would not say that people are selfish, I have been helped many times in this forum. There are general instructions online and also in Saylin's wiki. If you have a certain question that you are confused about, then maybe you should state what you need help with specifically and someone can pitch in and help you. Good luck.

  6. Has this happened to anyone? So...I got an email yesterday for a checklist for my IV packet. Apparently my marriage certificate is not the original! So I go ahead and call NVC all day!! Finally getting through at 11pm. Anyhow, I do not remember who it was that answered the call, but she was very rude and irritated from the beginning of the phone call.

I asked her why I have a checklist if I have sent in the original already, and I do not know of what else may possibly be an original. And she said, Ma'am plz allow 30 busniess days for your case to be reviewed O____________O What???

If you didnt review my package, then why do I have a checklist???

Shes's like, its is to "remind" you of any "missing" documents that you "might" have. O_______________O

Then when I asked her that that this doesn't make ANY sense, how can you send me a checklist without knowing if I have it or not, if...apparently it hasn't been reviewed

And she kept saying it takes 30 business days!!

    Has this happened to anyone?

  7. Hey mate, thanks for the quick reply. I see from your timeline that you sent your AOS and IV packets before the case # change? I take it this was no problem? To be fair NVC told me that it was ok...

.... I sent the email with a copy of my passport and they have confirmed they have changed my address and are in the process of changing the case #

Was that 40 business days or 40 days days...

Hmm, now that I look back at it, it was 30 days total they took for me. I has some issues though, NBC kept me emailing to send the new address like 3 times! Although after I sent in proof, it changed within 7 days. Since yo already sent in proof, I am guessing a week is a good bet for you to get a new case number.

    Good luck!

oh my god i cant believed my CASE IS COMPLETE !!!!!

I just recieved this email WoW!!!!! i am soo happy right now!!!

The NVC completed its processing of MD HAQ's visa petition.

The petition is waiting for an appointment to be scheduled at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in DHAKA, BANGLADESH. When an interview appointment is scheduled, the petitioner, principal applicant, designated agent, and attorney of record (if applicable) will be notified.

special thanks to Saylin and thank you everyone in this form

Congrats! When did you send your IV package? Also plz let us know when you get your interview! I'm trying to get an estimate when I will be able to get an interview in Bangladesh.

Hey guys - I know Saylin's wiki says DO NOT leave fields blank and to mark them as N/A or None where appropriate, even though the instructions says to leave it blank. What did everyone do? Did you get a checklist for leaving fields blank?

I left things blanks and had no problems, I mean I did get a checklist but not for the (intended) blanks. In the address just put same as mailing address. I did accidentally leave some blanks that I shouldn't have left blank, Make sure that even if you do not have other family members or other income, I think its Part 7 and 10, at the end there still is a question for the total. So, even if you don't have other income or family members, you still have to put a zero! Safe bet though, is write N/A, that way you'll have a lower chance or missing the needed blanks like me. ^__^

  8. Priority date isn't an issue for IR1/CR1 filers.

Bangladesh seems to be a medium-volume consulate for Asia. Look at historical statistics for your consulate/embassy's volume of immediate relative visas here: http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Statistics/AnnualReports/FY2013AnnualReport/FY13AnnualReport-TableXII.pdf

And for a breakdown of how many of each type of immediate relative visa were issued in 2013, look here: http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Statistics/AnnualReports/FY2013AnnualReport/FY13AnnualReport-TableVIII.pdf

Submit all those things to NVC, and they'll forward them to the consulate when you get case complete :) Make sure you're using originals or certified copies.

Wow, where did you find these! Very helpful to know. ^__^

  9. Has anyone any experience with changing case numbers at the NVC and how long this takes. When I submitted the i130 i was in HK, so i have an HNK number. We mailed them this change about 3 weeks ago, however they have said that my new address is on the system, but as yet no LDN case number.

They have also said we can process the case (i.e: send in the docs as normal) under the HNK number, which i have done, but surely they should change this soon!

Hey I have changed my consulate during the NVC process, you have to email them requesting a change and attach proof of it. they can change consulate to home country or where you are. So either send copy of passport from London, or proof of residing there, took me 40 days to get it.

  10. Wow, I am amazed that you guys have a record of who picks up the call at NVC. Haha, whenever I call, I'm so tired of being on the line that it takes me a second to keep track, I don't get a chance to catch their name since I am so excited they picked up. :P Will see who I get next time I call NVC though! Seems like they are really, busy and closing earlier. I called at 11pm and didn't go through.

    :(:(

  11. I know this has probably been asked and answered a million times....so if you could point me in the right direction for answers or just give me some advice I'd appreciate it. I finally got the NVC case number and Invoice number from them (via phone) today. I'm going to start gathering all the docs to send them and pay the invoices. 1. Will it be ok that I'll be sending the packets from Ghana? I'm here with my husband and probably will be until Interview time. 2. Once they give me the instructions on what to send and the invoice, is there a time limit to get things to them? I keep reading things about "priority date" and I don't know if that applies to anything here. Of course Im going to send everything ASAP but I just wonder about delays in sending things from Ghana :clock: And LASTLY.....once I get a "case complete", about how long does it take for my husband to get an interview? And how do we get that info? Will he schedule the interview online or does he have to go there to do it or what? Thanks in advance for any help!!

It does not matter where you send your documents from, as long as they are receive by the NVC. Just make sure to send it via a reliable mailing service. There is no time limit, well, if its over a yr, they may terminate your case. Turn things in ASAP to delay any wait time, but also send at the appropriate time, not before anything is invoiced! Haha :P

If you are a USC, priority date does not matter, only if you are a LPR.

How long it takes to get interview, depends on consulate and their scheduling, check out timelines of other members from the same consulate to get an estimate. NVC will give you the interview date and send you an appointment letter.

    Hope this helps!

  12. This is probably a stupid question and I apologize in advance. I received a checklist (attached at the bottom). Do I have to fill out another I-864 and submit it with the proof of citizenship? I seem to have read conflicting answers to a similar question before. I'm already kicking myself for missing this one thing, I just want to make sure so I don't make anymore mistakes. :oops:4ea094a0-1235-45a5-aae0-db307767571b_zps

I believe you need just what they ask for and the cover sheet, they already have the I-864, if there were no other mistakes, you should not have to send it.

I got two checklists! One fake and one real :P

  13. Good morning everyone! :P

So I paid the IV Fee on Saturday, 4/12, and I am still waiting for the the payment to be processed so the DS-260 can become available. How long has it been taking for everyone else? I guess I am just becoming impatient because everything else in the NVC process was quicker. I was hoping to have a Case Complete by the end of April, beginning of May for a June interview.

I am happy to see the process the NVC has made recently and how happy everyone has been with their Case Completes! :dancing:

I am hoping for a June interview too! Let's see how this goes ^__^

OMG. Just called and got my interview scheduled on May 8! I need to have my medical examination done soon. So happy. :)

Wow! So soon! Congrats to those of you who made it to a May interview!!
