  1. Long story short, spouse enlisted in military and was told by recruiter to not file for ROC as it would jeopardize citizenship paperwork filed on his behalf. It’s literally the month of his GC expiration and his drill sergeants just called today to ask what are our plans on his GC because the as of last year, recruits must now wait 6 months to file for citizenship AND all immigration offices at or near post instillations that facilitate the process have been closed so the drill sergeants are unsure of what to do about his status.

I do not have a copy of the green card to file ROC and the drill sergeants will not provide me contact information to them so that we can work through this issue before the GC expires citing security concerns, ie I can’t ask them to make a copy of the GC and send it to me to file. I have spoken to USCIS and they seem clueless about their own policy as their only advice is to read a brochure on naturalization but never answering the question.

Has anyone removed conditions under similar conditions and how did it remove conditions without access to the green card?

  2. My husband arrived in October 2017. Unfortunately, shortly before he arrived, my roommate announced she was uncomfortable with him living with us though her own husband had arrived in the US only a few months prior and I had been living with them during this time paying rent with to her with the expectation that we would live there temporarily until he began working and then we move out. We were forced to quickly find a new residence which we did. However the apartment complex screwed up and and gave us the wrong apartment and address (it’s a long story) and we had to change our address again for the second time in the span of a week.

As as a result, Imad never received his green card which was sent back to USCIS because of our change of address form. He still hasn’t received his green card and USCIS has said there is nothing do but wait for his background check to finish yet again.

How many people have a similar experience of waiting for a green card to be resent after changing their address?

How long took from issuing the visa till Aramex send you message to pick it up

As soon as we saw issued on CEAC, I told him to call Aramex and ask if the passport was there or not. Mind you, it was a whole week went by before we knew the visa had been issued because we never heard from the embassy or Aramex. We had to contact them ourselves based on the the experience of other couples in similar situations.

Congrats. The embassy wont contact you, aramax should contact you as soon as they have it. Ours took 5 days after we saw issued for it to be received.

You know what? You’re right. I told my husband to call about 2 days ago to see if Aramex had his visa because we never heard from the embassy and all other track your passport options didn’t seem to work or be accurate. When he called, they said it was there and he went to Casablanca last night to pick it up. He now has his visa in hand.

The down side is he has until December 1 to use it, but we’ll definitely do it before then.

This is awful!!! I've seen people who waited and stuck on AP for like 7months!! OMG! That's really annoying .

don't worry just keep call Aramex just to know when hia visa is ready for pick up! And you also can call the consulate to asked them if the passport still im the consulate or not ! Btw you have the option to truck ur passport in Aramex , truck it to see where is it now! Fingers crossed 🤞

I really hope you get your visa soon. I hope Imad getting his means that there will be movement soon for other people to get theirs as well.

Aww!! Such a good new , extremely happy for you 😊😊 , it happens sometimes... tell your husband to call Aramex so in this way you will now what's going on!

So how long he stayed in Administrative processing?

and how many updates he had before they issued the visa?

I will be thankful if you answer my questions :)

He has not received it yet, but we were in AP for nearly 4 months. I tried to track it to see if ARAMEX has it but so far no luck. I’m nervous and this is so surreal. We’ve been fighting for a visa since 2013. I’ll believe it’s real when he has his passport in hand 😭. Imad received at least 8 updates, probably around 12 or 15 just indicating that his papers were worked on.

Congratulations first of all! I've been following your posts here on VJ and was really hoping his visa would be approved soon. :)

He will need to register with Aramex to track his passport. https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/SiteRegister?country=Morocco&language=en_US

My husband's visa interview was on a Monday and he picked up his visa later that week on Friday.

Thank you for responding. I double checked on there last night after we checked CEAC for the first time in a week and I think the only 2 places you can select are Rabat and Casablanca and we selected Casablanca. I’m nervous that he hasn’t heard anything about pickup times since it’s been a week. I’m scared to get too excited before he has his passport in hand and we aren’t telling anyone until he does! 😩

  8. Definitely go for another visit before you file, two if possible. My husband and I are prime examples of people getting screwed by Casa and whining about it for years on VJ. We have been trying to get him a visa to the US since 2013 and are still waiting. Our case is so clear of being the real deal. Don't think for a second because you're in love it's all going to be so simple and cut and dry. People who've played the game for years on here already know...  😒
