Haven't been checking this website the last couple weeks and it's been nice. This forum was really helpful in the beginning of the US immigration process, but now it's just a source of anxiety lol. Just thought I'd let you guys know since I've been updating the list the majority of the time, so if anyone still cares about that someone else will have to do it. Visajourney has served it's purpose for me at this point, so i'm outies for good. Goodluck with everything guys

I'm on the same page. DHS website also told us to make a Case inquiry if we haven't received a Notice by mail on 3/28/2018. So I called instead and got an automatic response saying that we need to wait 180 days from 2/27/2018 in order to make a case inquiry.
I guess USCIS have a 15 month processing windows at VSC now.
If you do not receive your notice by March 28, 2018, send us a case inquiry and select that you did not receive your notice by mail.
You guys selected the wrong option, that's why that page is appearing.

There's a few different theories surrounding the transfer update, so no one really knows. It's been weeks and I haven't received any sort of
notice about it.
I submitted a case inquiry today (like the update says to do). I'm pretty sure nothing is going to come of it, but I was curious. It says
I should receive a response by April 20th.

So I called awhile ago and probably spoke to a Tier 1, and she said that my case has been transferred to my local office. And I asked her if its not in CSC anymore and she said correct. Idk if they’re just reading what’s on the computer update same as in uscis case status online or whatnot.
Meaning I have to wait 48 months if my case is in the local office? The thing with that is it doesnt specify on the processing time which or where local office is it.
The Tier 1 officers are totally unreliable. A Tier 2 officer told me my case is still at CSC even though I got the transfer update. Your case is most likely still at CSC waiting to be looked at..

I was told me to notify uscis by email if I did not received a NOA by 3/28/18, and that was the response I got.
The message you got is an automatic message they send every 2 weeks (i think) if there are no updates on your case. You can
turn off the notifications in the settings. This wasn't actually a response to your inquiry..

How did you handle the expiration of the extension letter? I assume yours ran out too?
I made an appointment at USCIS to get a stamp in my passport. I wasn't originally planning to because I don't have any travel plans. But the DMV here couldn't renew my license without the stamp..

Vermont filer March 2017. NOTHING happened. And today I called, because my extension letter ran out and I wanted to know what to do! So the guy just told me to schedule an appt. Of course NONE available for the next 14 days. Then, just out of curiosity I checked the EAC number that was on the extension letter. This number NEVER worked before. And voila: it now says that my case was received at the local office March 5th. But nobody announced anything. REALLY wondering what is going on here! Did ANY of you folks have a fast approval after the transfer? If so: HOW fast? Thank you all for your answers!
I got that update weeks ago (december 2016 filer). Mine says Feb 26 though. I haven't had any contact from USCIS what so ever. There are a few different theories as to what is happening, but I believe that the updates we're getting on the receipt number that used to not work are meaningless..

Just go. I visited family using my extension letter and expired green card. When I got back to the US the customs agent said "welcome home" and it was fine.

I called the 1800 (twic back to back calls) to verify the location of my file. On both calls I was informed that my file has been transferred to my local office. On the second call, after the agent told me my file was as my local office, he also said i have to wait 180 days before i can file an inquiry on my case. I told him its already been 15months. So he took my information down and told me I would get a call back in 3-5days for a tier 2 officer for more information.
The tier 1 agents don't know what they're talking about. They only know what we know. I had 2 tier 1 agents tell me it was not a glitch, and then a tier 2 agent told me my case was never transferred and it's still in CA. I wouldn't trust anything they say. But I do believe that my case never left CA.
Did they tell you why it will take 3-5 days to get a call back? I got a call back from them within an hr

There's been a small amount of people being told it's a legitimate update compared to how many have been told it's just a system error. Wouldn't the
local offices of all people know for sure whether or not they'd had a boatload of files mailed to them?
I was hopeful at first and thought the people saying it's a glitch were just cynical, but it's seeming pretty obvious now..

Yes, plz let us know. This all situation is so confusing, and the most frustrating thing is that no one can give us a true answer on what is going on...
If you're feeling frustrated about it I would call USCIS and ask them about it. Ask the agent if they will transfer you to a Tier 2 agent, and then you can schedule a call back from them. I feel better after speaking to an actual employee, so maybe you will too.

So I just got off the phone with a Tier 2 officer. I explained everything to him, I even mentioned that there was discussion online
regarding whether or not this is a system glitch, or legitimate update and that many people have received the same update at once.
So he took my information, I mentioned that I had 2 different receipt numbers (one of which used to bring up an error). He put me on hold for
a couple minutes. When he came back he said that he looked in multiple places (in his system I assume) and it's still showing that my case
is at the California Service Center. He said that the case status thing was most likely an error. He also mentioned
that if my case had been transferred and that if I was scheduled for an interview that I would've received a letter in the mail as well.
I spoke to 2 different Tier 1 officers prior to that as well. The first guy said it was not a glitch, and that my case had infact been transferred, the second the I spoke to right after had no idea what she was talking about.
I'm just going to go back to assuming the online case status system is not reliable and assume that I'm stuck waiting like I was a couple days ago

So I called USCIS today just because I was curious to see what they would say. I only spoke to a Tier 1 officer.
I specifically asked the guy "So I've heard that this is some sort of glitch, is that true or is this a legitimate update?" and he said that this is not a glitch
I also asked, "so have you been receiving lots of calls about this type of update?" and he said Yes, and again assured me that it was not a glitch, and that
I would most likely be scheduled for an interview or that they transferred it to look at it closer and get the card produced.
He sounded confident, but who knows if this is really the truth. I know other people have called and gotten different information..
So I called back again right away, just to see if another Tier 1 officer would say the same thing. But the 2nd office I spoke too did not sound like she knew what she was talking about at all, and when I asked her if she had heard about this specific update, she said she had not heard anything. So I requested a Tier 2 officer and they're going to call me back in an hour.

I filled it out but didn't send it bc of the rumors of being declined if condition has not been removed yet
What rumors? I thought a lot of people have been applying for citizenship while still waiting for ROC?

nobody got any move in their petitions? I am torn to go x the citizenship or not ...I already can apply since 3 month ago
nothing from CSC yet. I think a few approvals at VSC. If your end goal is to become a citizen and you're in a position to apply, you might as well get it over with. I personally can't afford the fee right now, but I'm honestly fine with taking my time and enjoy a break from USCIS for a while.

I just got my passport stamped as well. Not that I asked because I already know, but they didn't tell me any extra info. Just suggested I submit an case inquiry, but that system just says i'm "still within normal processing time".

I'm not planning on traveling out of the country any time soon, but looks like I have to schedule an infopass appointment anyway because the DMV won't let me renew my license with an expired green card and extension letter. It's been almost 14 months since USCIS received my application. I've been patient up until now, but this has become and giant pain is the ###

Surpassed 5 year mark post application
in US Citizenship General Discussion
Posted
So I submitted my naturalization application prior to being a permanent resident for 5 years, but the 5 years has now passed and I have my
interview on March 13th. At this point am I still applying "as the spouse of a US citizen"? If so they asked me to bring
my spouses birth certificate, and obviously I had to submit the extra evidence regarding our marriage. Mostly wondering
if I still have to bring exactly what it says on my interview letter?
