  1. Good luck! Hope it's quick and easy for you. My husband's appointment in Boston took about an hour start to finish, and he was just impressed that the USCIS employees weren't rude for once

Hey! Had my appointment today. My husband and I were so nervous - we drove to Braintree to take the subway in to Boston but the parking lot was full so we had to drive to Quincy and go from that one! I read online that they don't really care if you're late so I wasn't as nervous as my husband was but as time went by and it had gone 11 I was anxious lol the trains in Boston are horrible! Always a delay happening or some other issue. I think maybe the immigration centers cut us some slack knowing how bad transport is. We arrived at like 11:15 and there was a long line, anyway. I got to the guard at 11:30 and she was sweet. The other employees weren't rude to me but they seemed to have an arrogance about them. I think I actually got called in at maybe 12:40.

  2. Just had my biometrics done at the Boston ASC. What an unmitigated clusterfuck! Appointment was for 11, but apparently that's a loosely applied term. Everyone gets the same time and it's first come first served. Staff were professional, but pathetically understaffed, and using totally inefficient processes. Waited over two hours past the scheduled time, all the while worried Sacha would go into labor at any minute.

Guy running the show occasionally called out random numbers, presumably because of problems with their paperwork. At one point he shouts "stick to your appointments, people, time and date are very important". All I could do was laugh. I've been here an hour and a half, mate, how about YOU clowns stick to your appointments.

If you're going to Boston or any other major city, I'd advise getting there about an hour early to get as high up in the queue as you can. And bring a good book.

Oh, no! I'm having mine done in Boston on Monday - also at 11! I'll keep that in mind. That sucks. When I first went there 2 years ago it was fine, I think.

Does anybody know which month's filers have finally gotten an interview/10-year GC? Just trying to estimate how long it will be for me!

  3.

Have you gotten your Biometrics letter yet? The number you need to use is called "Application Number 2" and is at the bottom right of your Biometrics letter. It starts after the letters "CRI89" with EACxxxxxxxxxx

    Sukie in NY

Ohhh, okay, so it's just the Biometrics letter that it is on. No, I haven't received it. I thought maybe it was on the NOA1.

  4. I just wanted to ask, I don't have an appointment yet for my biometrics, but for proof of identification, is it okay if I bring my passport with my maiden name still inside AND my marriage certificate? I did this for my biometrics when I was adjusting my status right after I got married, but just wanted to check if it is still okay if my passport doesn't have my married name inside yet. Would they want to see another form of ID?

  5. That gives me so much hope!!! I filed mine at Vermont, though, so I don't know if that makes a difference. We don't have that much stuff as we still live with family so we included joint tax returns, proof of joint health insurance, joint bank account, proof of address (his driver's license and my learner's permit) and train tickets showing that we went on vacations. My name is Olivia, too! :)

  6. Our Package got delivered on April 15 , hope our check gets cashed in the next few days .

Do we have to write "ATTN I-751 " on the mailing envolpe as suggested on Visajourney , because we did not write it , hope it will not be a problem ??

I didn't write "ATTN I-751" on it, either. It got delivered on April 20th and no check has been cashed yet or any notice received. I was wondering if maybe it was delayed because of that.

  7. I just sent off my I-751 form on Monday and it got there on Wednesday. My husband and I usually go on vacation in August as that is when my birthday is. We always stay in the country, though. Is it too risky to book a vacation in August just in case I have to have an interview or something like that? I'm assuming from what I've read that it takes maybe 6 months at least from the time you file until the time of the interview but I just wanted to clarify.

  8. You're never too young or too old to have a will and power of attorney. If you don't have kids or assets, you can probably skip the will but do the power of attorney. You wouldn't want a court deciding for you if something happens to either of you. I'm assuming it's just processing time for a State ID, check your state department's website.

Anything you can think of you should send because the packet as is needs more convincing :) Good luck!

Oooh my driving learner's permit has my address on it.
