Oh okay, thanks! USPS showed that it got there this morning
-
I know, I mean will USCIS notify me by email saying they've received it or whatnot and if they don't need to send an RFE, what will I hear next?
-
We sent off our AOS package to Chicago via Express mail and they said it should arrive by Monday. We included the G-1145. Will I receive anything on Monday to say that it got there or anything? What should I expect now?
-
I combined them but I used a money order and the maximum was $1000 so one money order was for $1000 and the other one was for $70. I don't think it matters, they'll know what you mean

I'm about to send off my AOS forms (I-130 and I-485) and I know this is a silly question but how exactly do I make a money order? I'm the foreign spouse so I don't have an American bank account yet, all I have is my UK debit card which I transfer money from there to a "cash passport" card. I do this online. I was thinking the only solution would be to draw out the money in cash from an ATM ($800 is the maximum so I would have to do this in 2 days) and then make the money order. Does anybody else have any other suggestions? Do I have to go to a bank in order to do this?

When we went to open a joint account, the woman at the bank said she couldn't put my name on it yet as I don't have a SSN but didn't say anything about a form. Interesting. I'll find out.

Oh, it was her words, I just typed it. So I have:
- Affidavit
- Copy of a card my mom sent me after we married to congratulate us
- Copy of a card a friend sent me after we married to congratulate us
- Copy of hotel receipt from August that we both stayed in when we met in person for the first time
- Copy of a birthday card I sent him in March when we were chatting online
I might include a few photos of us too. Hopefully that will be enough and I won't get an RFE.
-
So I've done the affidavit letter for mother-in-law to sign. Because I don't have SSN yet so we can't have a joint account and we live with his mother so we have no lease or anything like that, I decided to include photocopies of cards from people congratulating us on our wedding and also a copy of the hotel receipt from August (when we had our vacation before I decided to stay here and elope). We don't have receipts for rings because we haven't gotten rings yet as we eloped. Will this be enough, do you think?

Oh okay, thanks! And is it okay if it's typed as long as she signs it manually?

Since my husband and I recently married and I don't have a SSN yet and we live with his mother, the only evidence we can give is from a third party affidavit (his mother).
I'm looking at this http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Affidavit and I'm really confused. Who is the applicant, beneficiary and the petitioner? I'm the UK citizen who came here on a VWP and he is the US citizen.
-
ALSO, in Part 3, it asks if my husband is applying with me, do I say yes or no? I mean he is applying for me to stay here (he is a US citizen) but he is not applying to come to the US.

I came here on a VWP and married my partner with no intent. I am now filling out the forms to send off soon as my VWP expires in a few days (I know overstay is forgiven if you are a spouse but I'm still anxious). I'm really confused about part 2. I've read on here that I have to tick Box A (an immigrant petition giving me an immediately available immigrant visa number that has been approved) but it asks me to attach a copy of the approval notice etc etc. Does this refer to the i-130 form that my spouse has to fill in or something else?

I'm adjusting status from VWP (I got married next week). I still need to do my medical exam but I don't have my vaccination records with me because I had no idea I was going to get married when I came here. I phoned my doctors office this morning and they said they would need me to write a letter and include my mother's details so that they can phone her and verify that it's really me calling. I think this is too much hassle just for a piece of paper with a few vaccinations. I think I only have a few of the ones recommended (whatever ones you get in the UK as a kid) so I don't really mind paying for them again, seeing as I'm going to be paying for the others. I've also read on here that most of the time, they don't give you ALL the vaccines, just the ones they think you need, and you don't necessarily need to show your records. I'm worried that if I wait for my vaccination records to arrive, I will overstay my VWP and that it will cause problems. I've read that it's forgiven but I've also read other people saying they can punish you for that.
What is the best thing I should do?
Sorry, meant got married last week lol

Does anybody know how I can get my vaccination records over here? I'm from the UK. If I phone my doctors office back in England, I'm not sure they will send me them because I could be anybody phoning asking for them? Is it best if I have it sent to my home address in England and then have someone send it over here? I'm adjusting from a VWP so this is why I didn't have it with me in the first place.

So I'm from the UK and I came here to visit my boyfriend and we ended up deciding to get married and adjusting my status etc. My birth control pills finish next month so I need to get some ASAP. How do I go about this if I don't have insurance yet? Can I still see a doctor and get a prescription?
-
So do I get the medical exam BEFORE I send off the AOS?
-
Also, how do you have to pay the fee? By cheque?
-
So if I'm correct, my partner (USC) needs to fill out these forms:
I-130
I-864
G-325A
and I need to fill out these:
I-485
I-693
G-325A
Now I know that you need to send both the I-130 and the I-485 together but what about the other forms? I'm assuming you have to wait until you have your biometrics appointment to fill out the I-693 form, right?
Sorry for all the questions lol I'm getting married in just over 2 weeks and I want to be prepared.
-
Sorry if I'm being dumb lol I'm just new to this and really anxious.
-
My soon-to-be husband (the USC) has a full-time job (50 hours a week), fixed salary but he lives in the same house as his mother which SHE owns. We are going to get married in less than a month and then I will apply for AOS. What I am confused about is that there are 4 people living here (me, him, his mother and her partner) and the house has 4 bedrooms (2 spare). Does the household size include the bedrooms/people living here or just me because I'm the only one marrying him and immigrating here? Technically it's not HIS house, he doesn't own it, so I'm really confused.

Yes this is what i did just make sure under class of admission that you click WT
I did that and put "WT" but it wasn't able to find it

That "suggestion" was the correct answer.
Phew, thanks! I'm stressing a lot over all this paperwork, so thanks for replying
VWP Overstay
in Adjustment of Status from Work, Student, & Tourist Visas
Posted · Edited by MyHeartWillGoOn93
I just found this blog/article about VWP overstays and it says something about updating certain chapters of the USCIS instruction manual but I'm confused about what it means. Does it mean that now VWP overstays have a chance of being deported?:S
