Just drove out to Buffalo for an infopass appointment. Very easy process, apart from the drive. I was in and out in 15 minutes. Turns out I got approved on the 10th, letter is on it's way.

Couple of important data points: because I'm already approved, they won't issue the stamp unless my extension has already expired, or I need to travel immediately. This may affect other people going to get a stamp.

Also he confirmed what we were talking about earlier - the one year extension is to the date on your GC, not the date on your NOA

Thank you. But will I get in to trouble if I try to get a stamp after the one year extension expires?

How many of us are coming seriously close to the 12 month extension? I know most people applied the instant they were able to, but I didn't have time until the last couple of weeks of my temporary GC. So the date on my letter is the 4/14, and the date on my GC is 4/19. I've got an infopass appointment on Wednesday.

Same, my GC expires May 6th and the date on my letter is 4/21 so I'm going to make an infopass appointment soon. Is it correct that I can only go to the appointment after 4/21?

I'm still waiting desperately without any further update after I changed my address.

Then the bridge collapsed and I live where I can clearly see the scene outside of my apartment window.

We did have some serious delays from USPS and actually got notices about missing mails.

    Ugh. what are the odds!?

I would call up and ask if they can tell you if they mailed anything to you. Let them know what happened.

Just got my approval letter in the mail! It is dated 3/20/17!!!! No longer an outlaw (my husband calls me that now LOL). Funnily I just checked my case online and stills shows the same "Case Received" status.

Anyway. I have the letter and I'm now waiting for the card.

    Just updated the spreadsheet.

Hoping that everyone else gets a letter in the mail very very very soon!

OMG YAY!!! Hahaha sorry I'm just so excited for you!!! First April filer at VSC to be approved and in March!!! WOOO! :)

  5. I also just got a reply today:

"Records show that your Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence (Form I-751) is still pending consideration at this time.  Your Form I-751 was received by the Vermont Service Center (VSC) on April 21, 2016, and we are currently processing I-751 petitions that were received on December 28, 2015.  For case status and processing times please visit our web site at www.uscis.gov.  If you wish, you may inquire on your case status again in 90 days.

We hope this information is helpful to you."

Ah, the USCIS and their processing dates.... it depends who you ask. As you've noticed, the posted dates are "current as of December 31, 2016." They're always at least that far out of date. It's right there on the screen - always at least 6 weeks out of date. However, if you call USCIS tomorrow and ask them what date they're working on, they will say "VSC is working on December 28, 2015" as though that was posted today and accurate as of today. It is to USCIS' obvious benefit to post dates that are old, but treat them as if they were current, since that buys them more time in which they can claim that our case is within the normal (current) timeframe.

We know that if those dates are actually accurate, and if we are still seeing people with similar dates getting approved now, then that means the office has not kept up with I-751 applications at all, and are, in fact, losing ground. (Since we would expect to see approval dates 1 1/2 months later than the date posted from 1 1/2 months ago, and, anecdotally, based on VJ's approval data, they're not)

Hopefully, you're right. Hopefully, VSC, if it's even keeping up, should be processing Feb 2016 applications NOW, since they were processing December cases in December. Actually, ideally, they'd be processing late Feb/ early Mar applications now, because that would mean that they're making headway on the backlog of cases. But there isn't really a way to know that, unless the data that VJ collects starts to bear it out.

We know that 2 years ago, when many of us were waiting for I-130 approvals for CR1 visas, there was a massive backlog at USCIS that meant many of us waited for a year or more to be able to move to the US. All of those of us who had been married for less than 2 years at that time, as well as all the K-1/AOS path CR1 applicants, are now up to do Removal of Conditions.

We're in the same backlog, it seems, and who knows when it will end.... And all of us who want to get citizenship in time to vote in the mid-term elections will be stuck in it again. Sigh......

I think it is exactly a year apart because February 2016 filers are getting approved but they probably don't change the date because some December 2015 filers are still waiting! Ugh... wish I could predict the future haha!

That's a shame. I feel sorry for the innocent from the affected regions. Any April filers from any of the banned countries?

I'm glad that this has been brought up because I was thinking of asking here but I didn't want to sound ridiculous but I'm worried. I'm from England but my father is from Iran and my mother is English. I have never lived in Iran but by Iranian law, I am an Iranian citizen because my father is. I have had an Iranian passport (expired a long time ago) and have visited twice to see my relatives when I was 16 years old, 7 years ago. My maiden name is obviously Iranian and I mentioned having been there at my AOS interview because the officer asked me if I've had fingerprints done before and I said I had when I was applying for an Iranian passport. He was a very nice guy but it might be on record and I'm worried this will affect my application. I am not a Muslim and neither is my father (only in Iran are we labeled as Muslims because the government labels you as a religion but we are not Muslims or religious). Heck, I don't even speak Farsi!
