Technically, I'm a July filer but since I was active in this thread, I'll post here:

Both parents received the green card in the mail last week after receiving RFE's for Birth Certificates, DOJ Criminal History Report and Police Clearances for places lived in last 5 years. The I-485 was approved and card ordered within 3 days of responding to the RFE sent to the San Bernardino Field Office. The whole process took under 3 months from filing to receiving the physical card !! What a relief!!

I think it depends upon the completion of the biometrics. Have they completed their biometrics? If so, how long ago?

The Birth Certificate I've read is not but the NABC should be.

if your parents are in India then its an easy task. Ask them to go to local municipal office where they were born and enclose a notary requesting NABC, carry along their school certificate or Adhar card. Things should get done pretty quick.

SatinderSabiee, I see from your timeline that you booked the interview. Did you get a notification from the Mumbai Consulate to proceed with booking the interview?

Hi Guys,

Its been 2 weeks since the Mumbai consulate has received case from NVC and the status shows Ready. My fiancee has not received a notification or packet 4 from the Consulate. I reached out to Ustraveldocs support email and US phone number but they insist on me providing a UID, email address of the Profile that I created.  The problem is that creation of the profile is only relevant when I need to submit the DS-160 and book an appointment. 

Can anyone who has reached out to the mumbai consulate when they did not receive a packet or notification, guide me on what I need to do?

Awesome! How long did it take to get packet 4 from the Mumbai consulate to setup an interview? We have been waiting since the 18th, which when the consulate received the file from NVC.

I'm 100% sure they will courier the passport back to your Delhi address. I've gotten multiple US visas (B1 and J1), had my interview in Chennai and they've always shipped it back to Bangalore (usually in 3 working days). I don't think it'll be any different for the K1.

Sure. I'll do that. So far the Case is still at NVC since the 12th. Should be sent to the Consulate by Friday.

Keep in mind that if everything is approved same-day at the interview then it will take about 1 week (at least) to get the visa issued and be able to collect it from the embassy. So if you're planning on collecting it from the embassy then you will either have to stay in Mumbai until its issued or travel back again to collect the passport. Not sure how far you live from Mumbai, but figured it was worth mentioning as a FYI. My fiance lives in Delhi so we were lucky on that part, but I kept thinking how much more stressful it would be for someone who lives far away from the embassy!

My fiance is from Delhi as well. I was hoping that they would courier the passport back. If we have to stay in Mumbai that's a lot of uncertainty on when we're going to get the passport back.

Do you recall if for the Medical, the consulate sends a form to fill out and take to the Clinic. I received the Invoice ID, Beneficiary ID and Case No. from NVC. Also, do we go for the medical after the appointment is booked?

There was only one packet/communication sent to my fiance by the New Delhi embassy - I'm still not really sure if its considered packet 3 or 4 since it didn't say either. It was just a letter saying they received a petition for him to apply for the K1 visa and included a copy of it. It also listed instructions for next steps (submitting DS-160, paying visa fee, police clearance cert., scheduling appointments, medical exam, etc.)

Thanks for all the information!! I see our case was just received at the NVC today. Looks like all K1 cases will be processed at the Mumbai Consulate now as my case was assigned to them.

I just saw your timeline and noticed it took 4 months to schedule an interview. Is that the normal or were there delays on your end to schedule an interview after you got Packet 3? Also was Packet 3 sent by the New Delhi Embassy to your fiance?

Also some people mentioned getting a packet 4. Did you receive that, if so when?

Thanks. I got it too on the same day from shaadi.com. Their legal department was very responsive.

I sent my RFE out the next day and got approved with 13 days of them receiving it.

BTW, general question to all. Do I have to specific about having met on Shaadi.com? Or can I not say I met my fiance online without being specific? I have met my fiance 12 times since we met initially so I have a lot of proof of meetings. 

Did you receive the letter from Shaadi.com? How long did they take?

Hi Guys,

HELP!! I got my RFE letter in the mail today. I basically forgot to answer a question (FML!!!)

The 3 page RFE package includes the page from my application with the missed question number circled in Red. 

Instructions: "Complete the item(s) circled in red on the attached copy of the petition and return with your signature and date."

Now, my question is where do I sign and date on the page? At the bottom of the page? There is no space available next to the question. Also is it as simple as mailing this 3 page package back in the provided envelope?

Got my NOA1 yesterday (May 22nd) in the mail. Application was received on May 15th and Notice was Dated May 17.

HI All, I'm a May filer.  just sent the I-129F package for K1 Visa yesterday. Expected to reach by Saturday/Monday. 

Oath Ceremony @ LA Convention Center:

I was supposed to report in @ 7:40 am but I was late was 25 minutes due to traffic and parked at the convention center for $15. It was't a big deal as they don't have time to ask you too many questions when they are covering over 3000 people. The ceremony started late because the judge forgot his robe at home and had sent for someone to get it. It lasted an hour in total and included 2 videos - A message from the Obama and a music video. They did not accept passport applications today which I was prepared to submit. It looked like cleaning staff were trying to sell passport and naturalization certificate covers for $15 before the ceremony. At the exit, there was a stall that was selling them for $10 each and at the parking garage the price was $5. I caved in too soon and bought the $10 ones

Oh, I did get a ticket 10 days before the Oath ceremony and was lucky that i got the letter in the mail to pay it off yesterday because they did ask if I had paid it off before giving me final verification approval. I had prepared an anticipatory letter explaining I had tried to pay at the court a couple of times but the ticket was not in the system yet so I could not pay. All's well that ends well.

I'm a US citizen.....woohoo!!
